Fex as a playable race?

The fact that we know very little could be an opportunity for the writers to help create something new to build on. The world is a pretty big place after all.

The Fex have not been given any description, least of all as "feline humanoids." ![]()
Seriously, there is all of one reference to "the Fex" in ALL of Dragon Age: as a wrong answer in the Quizquisition. They don't exist. David Gaider mentioned the Fex once in an offhand manner and he doesn't even work at Bioware anymore.

I certainly wouldn't mind and in fact would like the Fex to be a playable race, though they have never been described as what you say. The only things we know about the Fex are their name, they are native to Par Vollen, and they have lived under the Qun since the Qun conquered Par Vollen.
However, if they are introduced I wouldn't be surprised if the first game has them as solely NPCs first, both to introduce us to them and to gauge player feelings about them to see if it is worth making them a playable race.

I'm still waiting for an explanation on the
lizardfolk"scaled ones" who live under the earth.
They're krogan. No, really; there's a krogan head next to one of Chronicles codexes. It was just a joke.

As I've mentioned before, we do have specific and explicit mentions that they exist.
But all we know is that they are:
A primitive race which originates on Par Vollen.
