I'd like to think I did it. I finally created a handsome, yet lore inducing elf male.

But I'll let you be the judge.  I modeled him after my favorite elf in the series.  I am white with European ancestry.  I am also heterosexual.  But this one is for you Bioware.  Thank you for the memories.  (Sorry, I have a 4k TV but not the rig needed to actually play in that resolution.  I also had to use a Solas body mod for my character to not look like a beach ball impaled upon a wooden pole.)

Show us his body so we can tell if he still suffer from gynecomastia, total lack of shoulders, broken arms and insect legs.

Precisely why I can't ever play as an elf,

I reallyy want to, I think it would fit the story much better ---------- But I cannot play the game looking like a twig

So human male - every time.

Same here. I really tried but I always end up feeling irritated by the look.

I play on my laptop, so thankfully I can use mods - there is a mod that changes the elf body shape - i got pretty far on that playthrough, only to find out that its not compatible with any of the DLC. So i just gave up.

Why the hell can't they make elves like they were in DAO

The elves we have now go against their own artwork ffs:

I mean look how cool this guy looks.

There are actually armors for the elven body that mitigate the spindly look. I suggest experimenting with them, if you ever feel so inclined. The very first armor, for instance, works very well.

The elf looks pretty good in the Dalish scout armour but you can also craft other armour sets that reduce the skinny affect.   Also ditch the beige suit as soon as you can and substitute something else because that really doesn't do you any favours.    I was quite happy with my elf in the end but then I either play a mage or a rogue, so the lithe look goes with those classes, plus when my video card updated the program optimised it with my games and for some reason this resulted in a slightly broader looking elf.   It was a subtle difference but it was noticeable how it improved the look.   If you prefer playing a warrior then I can see why people might find the male elf body form incongruous.

Mind you I think it is a shame that there is only a one size fits all for all the races and classes.   May be next time they can give us a choice between two body types for each race, so not all humans and dwarves are the same stocky shape, not all elves are skinny and not all qunari totally muscle bound.    I know the latter are purpose bred by the Tamassrans but even so, you'd think there would be some variety, plus those who have been Vashoth for more than one generation might show more differences.

But you are clearly using the body mesh mod aren't you.

Last time I used that - I couldn't play any of the DLC

The idea you have to be big and brawly to be tough is a myth at best. I knew a 12 year old skinny kid that stomped the school bully only because he was a dirty street fighter not a mindless brawler. To bad I got a week's suspension for fighting. Maybe I should have let the bully beat me up instead. Put a weapon in a well train person's hand and he/she will hold their own against the biggest person.

The elves look good in DA:O and started going South in DA:2.

Well, you're certainly entitled to that thought..  Any ideas for how I can make him better?

Elves look terrible because they have the head of Chris Farley on the body of Ally Mcbeal (remember the 90s?  Pepperidge Farm remembers). Not because they're necessarily skinny or lanky.

Chronoid,Perhaps to some but,I prefer a Elf or a occasional Dwarf  over a human. My Elf and Dwarf designs  looks far better then my humans.

Old Tidus been a Elf since my D&D days in the 80s and I don't think that will change any time soon.

I wanted to give him a more feral look in contrasting with his naturally regal nature as an Elven mage.  But yeah the eyebrows are definitely an acquired taste.  Thank you for the input!

Gynecomastia... so I wasn't the only one who thought the male elves looked like they had a bit of a bust? Uh, a very manly bust, of course? :P

This is part of the reason I sometimes mistake male elf Inquisitors for female ones

I definitely used those armors to cover that broken arms, man-boob, toddler shoulders elf body! Sadly in Skyhold the beige pajamas laid everything bare!

@BansheeOwnage how could you mistake these pinnacles of manliness for women?
