That's just... stupid. Why not keep the original design for Falon'din (the one Tamlen and Zathrian had) or give it a new one? Anything is better than just switching them around.

They did it just to spite you.
Are....you going somewhere with this? Seems like a rather trivial thing to make an entire thread about.
Why not do something more productive with your time?
Bit of advice: If you're gonna insult someone, own up to it and go all the way. No hiding behind an emote.
As far as I know, the vallaslin in DA:O have never been "officially" identified. It was all just guesses by fans.

That... wasn't an insult? I don't think they even thought about it.
As long as it is my decision and serves my own purpose, it's a perfect use of my time. Not sure what you are doing here, though.

P.S. - I like how you edited out of your op that BioWare was just lazy
Nice touch

The DAI ones meanings are told to us by Dragon age lead concept artist Matt Rhodes.
The DAO one is a fan theory (made by tumblr user glitterdustedwren, I think). It makes a pretty solid argument and is an interesting read, but the developer never said whether they were right or wrong in their interpretations. So in regards to the information we got right before Inquisition, they were wrong on Mythal and Falon'Din, but otherwise spot on.

There are, of course, some obvious designs like Andruil's with the bow in the center and Elgar'nan's with the day/night theme. Still, it's weird that they never released anything official on the subject after all this time.
But if fans were simply wrong, then the vallaslin worn by Tamlen and Zathrian in Origins is actually Mythal?
The ones from DAI are official. But we are never getting an official answer on the DAO ones.
Personally, I think that Tamlen and Zathrian are wearing Dirthamens vallaslin. The owl beast vallaslin from DAI is not in DAO and the book vallaslin is not in DAI, so I'd assume that Dirthamens vallaslin got a make over so it looked more natural. It would also fit with glitterdustedwren's theory.
And then you can just switch Falon'Din's and Mythals design with each other and the chart becomes as correct as it can be.
But it could also fit as Mythals vallaslin, thus making Marethari's vallaslins change make sense in that it was tying her closer to Mythal rather than having her sport the Sylaise one.
But, I doubt we'll ever get an official answer.

Also, if you compare Merrill's vallaslin to what is now Dirthamen's, the parts on the cheeks look vaguely similar. The forehead part is completely different, but at least, they have more similarities between them than with what Tamlen is wearing. Therefore, I agree that Tamlen's vallaslin is Mythal's.
All the other vallaslin are fairly easy to match up.
