So we when kick the bucket for whatever reason, we usually get a game over screen and are prompted to either rage quit or reload last save. What if instead we had a built in device inside the player character(like a pacemaker but on a nanobot level) that upon death would push the limits of the players biotics. "& this.. is to go.. EVEN FURTHER BEYOND!! Ahhhhh!" - nanobots, probably.

Basically the concept here is that the nanobots are able to tap into the hidden depths of the pc's biotic power and then amplify it in some manner to initiate a biotic timewarp that would devour nearby atoms in it's immediate vicinity to further their own power. Ultimately this accomplishes a return to last checkpoint effect, if done right it would provide seamless gameplay. No reloading, or load screens. Near immediate(excluding the few seconds it tales for the biotic rewind which would happen in realtime) back into action. Of course this wouldn't be a biotic only thing, non biotics would have something in their suits or similar.

Literally just thought of this and not much thought has gone into it so yeah. What do you guys think?

You could've just said you wanted more space magic.

NO WAY

I wish biotics were still just a way to manipulate gravity, if they ever were.

Thank you for adjusting the title. I feel like I have power over you now. Like a renegade prompt.

No, that's not what biotics are about, and not every class is supposed to even have them.

But nano-bots? I don't really have anything against the idea if it is implemented well, that said I can live without it just fine...

So you want a Re-New-you station like in Borderlands or a Vita Chamber like in Bioshock......

It wouldn't be Mass Effect without red veins around the screen whilst you lay there lifelessly, the camera twirling around your dead body with that ominous music.

Meh, it very rarely happened to me anyway, and only on higher difficulties.

That's an interesting new biotic power.

Self resurrection. Taking the Space Jesus thing to a whole new level.

At first I thought the OP would be asking for a feature like in BioShock Infinite where Elizabeth revives Booker.

Oh well....

I don't know about an instant respawn, that'd kinda make the difficulty pointless if you could always pop right back up. But I'd like better death animations though, like your character falling to their knees and groaning dramatically before kicking the bucket. As it is, the death animation in ME sucks and seems kinda lazy imo.

I love the ragdoll death animation in ME1, especially when I get blasted in the face with a shotgun, has me laughing for about 5 minutes.
