Hey everyone, I'm totally new to bioware forum. In fact, this is the 2nd forum I finally registered (the first one is gearbox for borderland in case anyone might ask). It's nice to meet all u royal members!!

First thing first, I can't express more of my appreciation of all the info I read on the forum. Thanks for all the knowledge you gave me.

I've started played this game from the 2nd month since day zero, on my beloved PS3. I immediately jumped into MP mode since I have 2 good game partners from Borderland. I've never played any dragon age series before inquisition. Anyway, at that time since the spec of PS3 is that low so the game crashed all the time such as unbreakable vases (which happens once for a while even on PS4 now), teleports characters to a plain field...etc. So I stopped playing after 2 months (which there was no patch yet.) Another reason is that I swore I gotta own Cerberus Harrier so I went back to ME3 for the whole year before finally got every single weapon before I finally got it (yeah)

And I got PS4 this mid Feb., found it could transfer data to PS4, so here I go again!! However, I missed all the weekend events and directly face the announcement of FINAL PATCH which breaks my heart.

I'm still new to this game and knows almost nothing but longbow of Griffin. My friend and I went to a really nice steak house that night while I got it from a chest btw!! I'm @ pacific time zone GMT +0800, Taiwan. So I've met none of you good fellas at all and suppose I won't meet any due to new match mechanic.

Tiny question since I'm in early stage of attributes grinding, which is the first one to get? Usually I have no difficulties solo threatening level.

Thanks for finish this long text.

I would say build Willpower first and support your team using barrier. Keeper until you can unlock Virtuoso or the Mighty Saarebas zonal barrier bot.

Then try get that Cunning up using Silent Sister or Duelist.

I played a mix, but really started grinding on the legionnaire, since he is hard to kill and I wanted to promote consitution for more health.  Then, switched to willpower with arcane warrior.  And then caught up my cunning with silent sister.  They are all pretty important to start with.

It seemed like cunning made the biggest difference, though ultimately.   Many more critical hits and better range defense.  the range attacks in this game are frequent and deadly early on.

Range defense is really underrated when you are used to be invincible in threatening from archers.   Because of the purple armor, you are getting hit with 1 or 2 damage from archers even with just 10 Cunning, so you don't really think about it until you get to Perilous.

If you friend people, it gets by the match making mechanic.  I am on PC, but there are folks in the recruitment thread that are somewhat near you.

Lag may be an issue, but you can definitely play outside your region.

get constitution to 30 (if you don't plan to be mage all the time), then build Willpower to 30 (If you plan to play mage most of the time), and build Cunning to 30 last (make main priority if you plan to play only rogues). In general get all to 30, then stat build based on what you want.

I agree with this guy. Magic defense is pretty crucial.

You could always do what I did and shoot for 100 cunning before 50 willpower. Just don't get hit by any form of magic damage whatsoever and you'll be fine.

Or you can shoot for 10000 Constitution and ignore any damage whatsoever.

Or you can shoot for 10000 Willpower and 1 shot everything before they touch you.

Either way would work. Just don't shoot for 10000 Cunning  B)

Hey thanks for all reply.

My current status is

CON: 11

WP: 18

CUN: 21

I play Archer a lot, since I figured that caltrops upgrade work surprisingly well @ solo threatening. It gives me certain advantage while kiting stuff. Long shot feels totally different. I suppose they nerfed it. It is still good but not that good as before. Of course with high wp it will be devastating due to its range.

I really like Isabella the duelist. But I suffered a lot coz I apparently suck at it. I keep dying even in threatening. Especially fighting against Qunari and Darkspawner. I can’t find a good balance between using elusive and holding them. Swashbuckle is charming, so does ambush. But I just can’t manage them well with bolt.

AW is a perfect solo machine. Though I just figured they nerf/buff the spirit blade, so I can’t brainless spam it all the time. I use Sir Drasca’s build on this one with stonefist, it works fine.

Is Virtuoso a good choice of promoting? Because cool beats and power chord can be used pretty early around lv4-6. I’m just thinking use it as grinding machine.

Templar is another good character since it has a descent built-in combo. Though its damage is pretty according weapon, but still good any way. Shall I switch Sheild bash with Payback strike for fighting shielded mobs? Or just use shield to reflect their attack?

I like Necro a lot, but can’t even find a playing style with her so far, any suggestion on this.

Currently keeper is freezing; I have no battle field buddies yet on PS4.

With low promotions, I would advise against playing dps virtuoso. Even with pact belt and Hakkon, Virtuoso's damage is still pretty underwhelming when compared to dps saarebas. (I'll be honest here, really I just want to keep PI but still want to wear amulet of renewal on him.)

Shield bash is amazing against shield bearers. Just bash it on their face.

As of Necro, just take walking bomb and you will be fine. You can try spirit mark self rez, or horror CC, or ice mine / blizzard plus ice armor passive.

Thanks bro, I just checked with Saarebas. I can't understand none about how it works. Does it mean each of its skill has 3 stages? Open, flow, and finish phase? Let's say if I unlocked her and wanna use her for grinding, which way I shall go? My current staff is King fisher the beer, I read Sir Drasca's article and kinda confused a lot.

You have it right. Each skill has 3 stages, and you can tell which stage you're in by looking at her mana. Empty = open, half full = flow, and full = finish. You won't really need to check when you're used to her.

A safe build would be Asaara's Leap, Saar-Taar Shield, Ring of Asaaranda and Athlok Burst. You can have the first 3 by level 6, iirc.

Initiate/escape with Asaara's Leap (Fade Step), drop a Ring of Asaaranda to increase attack/casting speed and finish with Saar-Taar Shield to throw a 65% barrier on everyone. If you have enough barrier, use Athlok Burst 3 times in near enemies and go back to Leap/Ring -> Ring -> Shield.

If you are mostly playing threatening or perilous, you can use leap, glyphs, anthlok and barrage. Drop glyphs on all your team members and start spamming anthlok.

I don't think many will need barrier for threatening if I'm honest.

Also Heart of Pride staff works amazing on Saarebas.

True and true. The build I mentioned is just my favourite gotta go fast build, since the rings stack and you can constantly be right on top of melee allies with attack speed boosts. If there's no need for barrier, it'd be a good time to try different abilities. Most are kind of underwhelming, though.

Those are what I use in perilous.  I tried the rings but the extra speed is really not needed.   The fire glyphs extra damage is amazing since you don't have to do anything.   Things just die around you when they hit you.   It is especially great when you are playing with 3 other players who are not ready for perilous.  You just keep casting barrier to keep them alive.. and the fire glyph you put on them will do the killings for you.

The problem with the fire glyph is that no one gets the kill when an enemy dies from it. Though at least you still get the xp if it was damaged by other means. I don't think I could bring myself to play Saarebas without the rings, though. It's a consistent 60% boost to attack speed when upgraded, and I love it.

The problem with the ring is the it is really really loud.   I have to turn down the sound or take off my headphones when I do it constantly or I felt like I am in a warzone.... :P   It is the same with the bacon... too frigging loud. :P

"Underwhelming"? I mean, in my opinion anthlok spamming trumps power chord spam by miles. No mana cost, higher effective radius, higher ability damage. And you get buff from glyphs plus + health passive to keep you alive with pact belt on. You can even run faster than a Bard, because, well, you don't even need to walk...

If people feel power chord bard is great dps wise, then I'd say Saarebas is even more OP by miles.

Better barrier, better support, and better dps depending on the build. Damn saarebas is literally THE most OP mage in MP.

The reason why I don't take rings it's simply because it's an effort to cast... You know, to take advantage of it, you will have to actually cast it... B)

Seriously, just simply smashing Anthlok button non stop is even easier than being a barrier bot...

Best, easiest, most brainlessTM Saarebas build:

BB - only ever use it when there is only 1 big, fat bossy dude left on the battlefield...

Leap - hmm, everything is dead but the next cluster of mobs are miles ahead. Don't feels like walking? LEAP!

Anthlok - JUST KEEP SMASHING THIS BUTTON! Everything will be dead and everything will be alright, as long as you just KEEP HITTING THIS ******* BUTTON! JUST DO IT! (Bruh, can you do me a favour and write me a macro for auto spamming anthlok plz?  )

Glyphs - pop fire glyphs if not using pact belt. Electric if you are using one. Just pop it on all your mates and forget about it for the rest of the match. EASY.

Nothing shall stop you from mashing that anthlok button!

Optional: play one of Gya's youtube videos in the background for the music  whilst you busy ramming that anthlok button until your controller / keyboard shatters.
