"Underwhelming"? I mean, in my opinion anthlok spamming trumps power chord spam by miles. No mana cost, higher effective radius, higher ability damage. And you get buff from glyphs plus + health passive to keep you alive with pact belt on. You can even run faster than a Bard, because, well, you don't even need to walk...

I meant most Saarebas abilities are underwhelming compared to Athlok. Zither is fine, but of the two, give me fire pact Athlok explosions any day.

The build I mentioned is simply what I'd use for pugging Nightmare, so the squishier people I run into can enjoy not dying while I still get to explode things.  :P

Better banter, better voice acting, and better f4 spam depending on the build. Damn saarebas is literally THE most chatty mage in MP.

FTFY

Also, glad you like the muzak :D

Hey, I've played really hard this weekend, now my status are

CON:11

WP:21

CUN:23

Archer can solo threatening as long as he's not encountering darkspawner and qunari in his level 1. LV 6 everything would be fine.

AW is another character that I can play threatening in lv 1. As long as not encountering darkspawner and qunari.

Silent Sister is a beast since I finally luckily get the first Salvage Throne this Saturday (woo). She can solo threatening in LV1 under every situation. (off hand nameless blade since its lv 23)

Templar can solo in LV1 as well, I have bitter axe. Only in a slower tempo.

Legi I think so, never really played him.

Avaar - Guardian of the galaxy, though he's one of villains , Sometimes KIA in Zone 5 darkspawner and qunari with LV1.

--

Other class I found very challenging under current status and gears, but mostly my playing technique sucks I suppose.

Necro- She's really charming, but I kept dying even in LV18 every time I encounter Qunari. I think I need more status to boost her up.

Elementalist - Very variety of skills, I dun even know which to pick, I chose fire mine and found out it is really hard to set it as I wish to. Keep dying in zone 5 while lv 16 already.

Katari - Remains locked

Reaver - LV1 in threatening so far is a no-go. After unlock Dragon's Rage then fine.

Alchemist - Lv1 is a no-go. Lv6 and above if I play with extremely caution can be fine. Still die a lot in zone 5 qunari.

Duelist - Lv1 is a doom. never survived even once in zone 5 fighting darkspawner and qunari. Keep dying on me even she's now 17.

Virtuoso - Mad Max way of life soooo perfect!!!!! And operation failed. Lv6 would be fine.

Hunter - Not a fan of him so far, since I thought he was a advance version of archer and had spent everything to unlock him the 5th day after I bought this game in PS3.

Saab - A Sweden brand. I like smash my Athlok button to victory. However, I failed couple times while vs darkspawner and qunari in zone 5.

Keeper - Dunno how to be a good keeper while solo.

---

These are current situation with all classes, under solo condition of course. It is very tricky to meet pugs in Asia Pacific region on PS4 console. Only couple people still playing and I found they are not really pugs coz I kept ran into same people after playing around 100 operations in total. Some of them are just over powered and I can't help but think they are game breakers in threatening level. Not a bad thing if I wanna standing still and do nothing but in that case I don't think they will be happy; or they just play random low difficulty games only for showing off?

I met some really great players but they can only speak Korean and Japanese, so the whole conversation is like a puzzle. Sill fun though :)

Couple questions I wondered:

1. I got another bow called Artifice, looks not bad on its crit %. Shall I stick to Heart String with high Heal on kill or switch to it and put 1 hok ring?

2. Kingfisher vs. Scepter of Razikale vs. Dragon Staff? I don't have heart of pride yet....

3. Is it okay that I grab a torch and rush to finish the quest or I shall be considerate and wait for others (if there's any)? I feel sorry for very few new comers to the game knocked out because of I rush to the campfire.

4. Are those Hakkon weapons really the game changer? I mean, take myself for an instance, under my low attributes, would that be a really obvious difference if I had them? Let's say if I got hakkon staff, I can ran over threatening with all mage classes?

I hope they can hotfix some bugs like put some rescue mission in zone 3 or 4, but put some enemies and the messenger in zone 5 that I can't never put a finger on them to get a key, only exit is 'to the menu'

Thanks for reading

1. Stick with Heartstring. Hok is only good if you get the kill.

2. Scepter of Razikale. Dragon staff is pretty meh, Kingfisher has good CC but people don't need that in Threatening.

3. Rush if you feel you can survive and carry the rest when they fade. Just be weary that if it's a team of newbies and you tried to rush the torch event and died mid way or in front of the camp fire... It's likely going to be a wipe if the rest of the party can't deal with the map wide aggro with 1 man in fade and suffering constant poison cloud damage.

4. Yes. For a start they have 2 masterwork effects that no other weapons do (and are all pretty useful effects too). They are fully upgradable so you get to put what ever stats you like on them. And they come with +100% crit damage which effectively doubles your damage output. Even if you rarely crit at the moment, the occasional damage boost is still very nice.

Well it depends on which Hakkon though.  I got the Hakkon Honor when I was still playing in routine and threatening.  The bitter axe was so much more superior than the HH with low crit chance and already unkillable.   I think the same with Hakkon Wisdom vs Heart of Pride.

use pride on aw

Think about your barrier gen from your basic attacks lol. And all your abilities besides chain lightning.

I only ever use heart of pride on saarebas because of her attack speed. Besides that, dont feel extra attack speed is worth it on the expense of my damage. Yes many mages got skills that can't crit, but at least basic attacks will and a lot of their skill do crit.
