@RosaLawliet:  Well, once we exterminate the last ancient elf and put his head on a pike... we can celebrate "Real Elf Day" with our modern compatriots.

More likely it will be Solas who will feast upon a row of shemlen heads in the day of the ancient elves rebirth!

I know that what you're posting here isn't serious, and is just you trying to be humorous and clever, but to address the point of powerful evanuris including Solas, the thing you have to remember is that strong antagonists exist to provide a goal for the protagonists to meet. So the strength of the evanuris will exist for the purpose of being beaten by the protagonists. The game will show the protagonists rising to power and developing their own abilities and tapping into hidden talents.

I seriously hope (but in no way expect) to be able to support Solas, because from what I have heard (and no I am not buying Tresspasser to find out, I cannot bring the *care* to play DA:I at all, so why spend money to meh it away) he kinda has a point.

I'd love to know what this point you think he has is. Is he right because the ancient elves were "original" and the current world came after? Maybe, but that old world is dead. Is he right because elves don't have better lives? Ancient elves had slaves, too, and they are also their-own-race supremacists. For exhibit A, I'll direct you straight to Solas. Is he right because current Thedas is awful? That's subjective, and it can't get better if it's destroyed.

He is right because elves are the race that Thedas deserve

Well - it's true - apocalypse and genocide do have "a point" - but, are they really points you openly support?

It's funny about how people (not you) ramble on about stupid **** like "natural world" - the "natural world" of Thedas doesn't have cities and civilizations... so, let's go back to that.  Let's go back to whatever age it was when the elves either 1) lived natural lives as animals or 2) were spirits

And if you want to take the slippery slope of saying:  "Creating civilizations is natural for sapient creatures." Then that makes the Veil totally natural as well.

Either way... Solas is an imbecile and his argument is as weak as the elven race itself.

Elves are not weak but they have generally lacked good leaders; the ones who were inevitably getting shafted.  Given how poorly they are treated, elves are surprisingly numerous so must be tougher than they look.    Still I would point out that but for Shartan Thedas would still be under control of the Tevinter Imperium and but for Ameridan Orlais would be toast.   I must admit on that last one I almost wish he had failed since I can't stand Orlais.

Solas wants to restore the world of the elves, which so far as I can gather was a dictatorship ruled over by 8 ultra powerful mages (not entirely sure you could even classify them as elves) their priesthood and loyal nobility.   Everyone else was subservient to them.    That included the fledgling humans, when they weren't being hunted by Andruil.      The civilisation of the current world may not be great, particularly if you are an elf, but I don't see how bringing back the former one is going to improve things for them.  Plus Solas' plans never work out as he intends them to.    So even without the genocide aspect, which is the main thing I object to, I wouldn't support Solas in trying to bring back the past.

He's right that it is not worth saving.
