What races were added that you consider bland, if you don't mind me asking?
Imagine Sten here saying "No", and appreciate the irony.

Much of the politics in Thedas would put the drow to shame; just look at the Game where practically anything goes provided you aren't found out but everyone suspects you are responsible. If I recall correctly, Celene came to power because her mother was murdered by Gaspard's wife, who in turn was killed by Celene's father but he was cut with a poisoned dagger so died as well. Then Celene sacrificed an entire household of servants in order to impress the kingmaker matriarch so she would then assassinate the current Emperor on her behalf.
As for elves, the Evanuris (according to Solas) would also appear to be the drow of Thedas, particularly considering watching the Game in Orlais gave him memories of them. It would seem that every time anyone approaches the site of ancient elves they get attacked, even if they send people on a peaceful diplomatic mission (ancient Tevinter initially investigating Arlathan Forest), and there is an enclave of either rogue Dalish or ancient elves in the Tirashan who worship the Forgotten Ones, so you may well get your wish in the future if they decided to involve them in future games. Wouldn't give much for anyone's chances in aligning with them. More likely they would support Solas if it meant freeing their gods (who I must assume were imprisoned along with the Creators).
As for dark skinned elves in Thedas, take a look at Cillian. He even has the white hair to go with it.
The Last Court describes encounters with elves that follow the Forgotten Ones. But they appear to just be angrier more violent Dalish with strange vallasline that live in creepy unexplored places like the Tirishan.
I'm not sure drow-like elves would be best suited for Dragon Age, but it could conceivably work if Bioware puts their own spin on things and makes the more developed than the standard "evil dark elves" trope. Perhaps the long lost genetic cousins of Elvhen that were exiled or migrated beyond Thedas' borders in ancient times before or after the Elvhenan fell.
Thedas already has a version of dark elves - they're called the Qunari.
You think that them frequently having gray skin, white hair and pointy ears is something that came out of nowhere?
Is this how you honor the Sixth House and the tribe unmourned?more elves to kill in the name of the Maker!
This isn't the Forgotten Realms.
Dragon Age dark elf or drow seems to actually be within the dwarf race more. Kal-Sharok dwarves are the drow for the Orzammar and Surface Dwarves.
Okay to be clear, when I say darker I'm NOT referring to skin colour; but behaviour and the general character traits of individuals and/or a society norm. Like I class Tevinter as a darker society than Ferelden because they allow Blood Magic, Slavery and the mistreatment of others in the same society because they are classed as the lower class. i.e. Humans and elves who are not mages or from the mage families . (and yes I know elves are treated badly in Ferelden but nowhere near as bad as Tevinter or even Orlais for that matter.)
I ask my three favorite Elves and all three said they would decline the roll as a dark Elf so,no thanks..
What do you think?
Since DA universe already have so many from Warhammer universe so yeah i kinda like to have dark elves and they suited in universe perfectly

Elves who still lived like they were in Elvennan before Veil and become angry at arrived shems as was not neutral and enslave as execute them(oppositive of what peacefull elves do in Arlathan), they use blood magic and other things what enchant they former lifespans and magic powers what was shuted by veil, they command dragons(and have dragonknights who can shapeshift into dragons)
we could say that qunari was a blood magic experiment with slave shems and dragon blood to make them stronger and after qunari run and have stole some technology from their former masters like black ships-drednaughts and they fear of magic but still know many things and have sareabas shutting devices what a magic and qunari cant create those without magic
Actually when god Elgarnan would came back and have his elven army with dragons, elven dragonknights, flying fortresses with flying battleships as varterall battle golems from stasis they would be "dark elves"
and he would command Titans with their shabrytols
Elves in the DAverse are currently bland. I've seen more culture in a spoon of yogurt. The least that can be done is spice things up a bit. Come on - evil elves would be badass. No thanks

Yes, because revealing that Elvnhan was no better than Tevinter at its time really does put them in a good light...
Also - we know that there's a faction of mysterious Elves living in Tirashan and raiding Sarault.

None, luckily. And hopefully the Vex or whatever stay as a story.
Only if Drizzt shows up and kills Solas... and then promptly heads back to Faerun.
Most here seems to connect dark elves with D&D and drows.
However even Tolkien had dark elves - the Moriquendi. Eöl and Maeglin you can read about in Silmarillion. The Moriquendi themselves were inspired by norse mythologys dökkálfar (or svartálfar). So it's definitely not "go back to play D&D" thing. That's just silly.
I think it would be interesting if such ancient and forgotten elven race was discovered. It seems that the dalish and city elves are both directly descended from the ancient elvhen of Arlathan. They all speak the same elven language. We don't know much about the Forgotten Ones or about the ancient war Solas mentioned at the end of Trespasser. Was this war between Forgotten Ones and the Evanuris and their followers? Different elven races fighting against each other? I think it sounds interesting.
I think it's more interesting to just have Elves, period, rather than the dualistic color coding trope.
It's more realistic and understated.
