A lot of the new accessories seem to two-edged swords -- especially the sigils.

Now in the Western Approach, I've run across an amultet -- Kitty's Collar.  The "minus 100% damage resistance" in exchange for sporadic help doesn't seem to be a profitable exchange.  Or am I missing something?

Kitty's amulet is one of my favorites. I don't see much of the debuff to resistance since I think that is exclusive to the elemental resistance. But when you have a 75% chance to instarevive I'll take it the negation of an attack every 30 seconds then a 4 sec immunity every min to save from a killing blow is frosting on the cake. It was a key to my nightmare run.

The sigil I've seen builds that capitalize on them. I don't like them however.

Some time ago they had a contest for fans to design accessories and the winners were added into the game. This is why a lot of the unique items have flavor text that tell a story, or are referential, like Kitty's Collar.

As far as the sigils go, well it's all about using the right sigil for the right class or character, in the right weapon. Rogues are not supposed to get hit; they have abilities that allow them to avoid damage, reduce their threat, and so on, in addition to your tank hopefully doing their job. A sigil that gives the rogue reduced damage resistance along with some other powerful bonus will only really be harmful is the rogue is played poorly. I don't think sigils are for all players. I don't use them in my own games. But they are a fun way to further customize gameplay.

For me, its the "Ring of Doubt."  If I put it on, I go stealth, which is great, but my companions don't follow me - constantly popping up when the distance becomes too great, and it makes this sound that drives me crazy with my headset on. If I put it one of my companions, they don't follow, instead popping up with the rest of the crew when distance is too great. Its just generally annoying for me.

Yeah, I have similar problems with that and usually just end up selling it when it becomes too annoying. I wish it would make you go stealth automatically only when you enter combat (and then automatically out of stealth when combat ends). Not all the time. That would resolve lot of problems.
