Anyone know, how to remove the shine from the hair?

I'm on the PC, and I love to play dark haired characters, but black isn't an option since the hair shines like a plastic bag slapped over the character's head. It doesn't even look like an overdose of oil, just like the lining of a garbage bin. Mustaches and beards too, by the way.

Does anyone know of a mod or some trick to make it look less shiny?

I have the same issues on my PS3 and Xbox 360. I don't know of any fixes since there's no way available to tone down the hair like you can the skin tone.

If there is a DA:4 and it has the same graphic flaws as DA:I that will be my last DA game.

You need to bump up Shader Quality graphic setting to high or ultra for hair to stop shining (and for skin complexions actually looking how they're supposed to). It's on the very end of graphic settings.

On PS3 and Xbox 360 tho... I'm not sure you can get rid of it.

Go to graphics settings, set Textures and Meshes to High. Shader Quality on High.

Go to graphics settings, set Textures and Meshes to High.

Meshes used to be responsible for hair shine. Now it's Shader.

Nothing to do with the colour, set Meshes and Shader to Ultra and High i believe. If your system can handle it that is.

If you're interested in modding, I use the realistic SK Hair Re-texture pack mod, gives my Inquisitor with black hair, the look she always wanted :).

Don't use smooth though. I have all my settings on Ultra or High, and the smooth pack makes her hair look white with too much shine.

My first run was vanilla, no mods, so I used Ultra settings and just lived with the occasional bit of lag.  Even then Dorian's hair was super oily, but most others were fine.

For my character I cycled through different styles and colours till I found a good combo.  My dwarf had the silly sidecut style (that she rocked tbh) but I think I chose dark grey instead of black, so it looked really nice in game.

You'd really not play a game because you don't like the hair texture?

On my ps3, its been a while since I played, but I believe brown hair will reduce it a bit. Its the one color I remember that's not as shiny as the other colors

Texture and mesh are already om ultra. Shader seems to be what I missed.

On PC you simply need to up your graphics to high or if your PC can't handle that turn meshes and textures to high. Should fix the problem and it should also open scars for you.

Meshes and textures already are at ultra. Shaders is the only thing I haven't touched so far.

That might be it. I think Bioware did change it around a bit at sometime. But at least there should be way to get rid of that shine :)

I hate mods. I just deal with it and play as is.
