Another epic creation that was birth from the sweet womb of ME2, besides each class unique individualism, was the many heavy weapons the player had at their disposal. For some reason unknown to me ME3 scrapped these beauties and replaced them with a generic missile launcher, and two cameo appearances from the M-920 Cain. I want my Arc Projector, and M-490 Blackstorm back. Heavy weapons added another dimension to combat. Hell, let the enemies be able to utilize them as well for an added challenge to gameplay. Come on EAware do it, give them back.
Bring back the sexy heavy weapons!

What about those nuke grenades from Starship Troopers?
ha ha...I'd love that! But sadly I think they would literally obliterate everything including the player ![]()

Yeah, some kind of heavy weapon option would be appreciated. Maybe the heavy weapon can be in an attachment to the armor - like in XCOM 2.
(choose before the mission which heavy weapon you want, you get amount of charges depending on the weapon, no conveniently finding ammo)

I honestly didn't miss them much in ME3, tho it was silly that whenever you needed one it just happened to be lying around nearby.
I didn't really use them much tbh. I'm a pistol and sniper rifles girl, so I liked being able to only carry them in ME3 and nix the others in favour of a quicker biotics regen time. So if heavy weapons were optional then I'm up for that, but not if I'm forced to lug them around with me. I've literally spent all of ME1 and 2 carrying around shotguns, assault rifles and heavy weapons that I never once used. I appreciate having a choice to ditch them from my armour.

I like to have the firestorm back. It was so much fun using that when playing as a vanguard in ME2. Charge. Burn face. Charge. Burn face. excellent. I like the cain. More for the sound effects than anything.

Nah, good thing they ditched them. Made the game more casul than it already was. My heavy weapon was my Widow anyways.

Yes to heavy weapons but not the heavy weapons from ME2. They weren't the best weapons. Perhaps weapons built around a 'Heavy' build. I'm thinking the two Heavy gunners from Aliens where the weapons are built in to a frame on their armour.

The Cain to me, is just pure. and I am a full supporter of all options for the player to kill all things.

As long as they stream line how Heavy Weapons are carried. Playing as a Soldier in ME2 it looked like you were carrying a slab of sheet metal on your back with all the weapons meshed together.

Liara: A crutch! A crutch! Why call you for a projector?
Shepard: My Projector I say! Harbinger has come and flourishes his sword in spite of me!
Harbinger: Thou villain organic, hold me not! Let me go.
Liara: Thou shalt not stir one tentacle to seek a foe.
Harbinger: The cycle must continue.

I loved most of the heavy weapons in Mass Effect 2. The Grenade Launcher, Arc Projector, Collector Particle Beam, Avalanche, and Cain were pretty fun to use and powerful in the right situations. I even started save editing my ammo to use them all the time.

Yeah, the Firestorm was my favorite heavy weapon in ME2. The Cain was good, but it was only good for making short work of praetorians and was just a one or two-shot deal and was useless for most situations. But the Firestorm was such a happy tool of mayhem when I would biotic charge in on a group of enemies and then set them all on fire. Their screams were like music XD
I would love to see a particle beam weapon return, but the effect it has on enemies should be a bit more…..advanced. Like so! (1:30 in):

I think the reason why they took out HWs is because the game would be kinda hard to balance.
An example of this was back in ME2, using the Cain to rekt the Geth Colossus. That was supposed to be a challenging scene, and yet with one click you pretty much won the fight (insanity required a bit more of shooting, but still).
I'm assuming this is what they wanted to avoid in ME3.

On the contrary, I think the HW slot allows for better balance - especially for the multiplayer section of the game.
How about instead of opting for the Cobra missile launcher, you could have other heavy weapons as part of your loadout - Cain, Blackstorm, Ladon missile swarm, and so on.
Additionally, we could move certain existing weapons to the heavy weapon slot and them buff them up - the Typhoon and the Geth Spitfire come to mind. By moving them heavy class their damage output could be significantly buffed without presenting a balance problem.
