I got the No One left behind achievement, none of my squad members died, however there are people saying you can save the colonists and Normandy crew.  When I got there only Dr. Chakwas a few no name crew members and a few colonists were alive.  I sent Grunt with them and they all came back safely.  I watched Yeoman Chambers destablize in that tank.  Is there a way to prevent that?  Meaning is there a way to save everyone including all of your crew?

You have to go into the Omega 4 relay as soon as possible.

Yeah - don't kick off the final quest line until you are happy you have done everything else you want to do. If you delay going through the relay once the crew have been taken, you will lose some...

I see, guess that's where I messed up then. I saved Zaeed's loyalty mission till after the IFF mission. So basically if you want the best ending you have to do everything you want to do before the IFF mission. Then hit it, get Legion, do his loyalty quest, then hit the Relay immediately. Seems counter to the whole choose your own adventure thing, but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks.

Well you are still "choosing your own adventure" either way!

You can do it in what ever order you want, but you have to accept that there are (logical) consequences to the different choices you can make.

Losing crew/team members isn't "failing" the game per se - just a conclusion that your actions can lead to.

So... the event where your crew gets taken won't happen until after I get the IFF, right? Good to know. I was going to hold off on that as long as possible anyway.

Only thing about holding off on the IFF and then speed rushing the legion loyalty quest is that you won't have enough missions between the two to get all of Legion's conversations. So save some n7 missions for the post game. That's kinda what I meant by the choose your own adventure thing. There's been a ship crashing the entire time I've been playing, but it will stay in a "crashing" state until I get there and fix it. Guess it appears the Omega 4 relay doesn't operate on the same suspended timeline. Guess the town that ship is on a collision course with will have to wait awhile.

I think I'd rather miss out on Legion talks than lose any of my crew (my goal is to upgrade everything I can, and not lose a single squad mate). That's one thing that's been annoying me about ME2... forced events and stuff like that. Like how, after doing a certain amount of quests, you're forced to go to the Collectors' ship (Joker refuses to let you use the galaxy map, telling you that it'll have to wait because TIM wants to talk). The way they've revamped ME2, you kinda HAVE to take your time exploring and doing everything you can if you want to survive. Which is why they added forced events, I suppose... it's a way to prevent you from ignoring the main questline, even if you WANT to ignore it. *sigh*

OH WAIT. I forgot that you can continue to explore or something after the main questline. THAT'S what you meant, lol. Still, Legion's gonna have to just sit his synthetic butt down and wait. I'll save a handful of N7 missions for him, if I haven't done most of them already.

I have just finished the game prior to going for the IFF and mass relay 4 I visited every system every planet did every minor mission and collected resources. I had full upgrades on virtually all weapons and shields etc. Had loyalty for all but Miranda and Thane. On final mission sent Legion through the tunnel he got shot in cut scene closing door, got everyone else back including Dr and Kelly lost no other team. what have I missed or should I send someone else through tunnel will that change it.

Legion is actually the best choice for the tunnels. The only other option would be Tali because you need a Tech expert. But there must be some things deeper than just loyalty and upgrades. Things that I don't understand. On my first playthrough, Mordin died at the door even with loyalty and his Omni-Tool... I had to reload and take him with me... o.o

Legion survived the ducts in my game. I didn't lose teammates. My crew on the other hand...

I upgraded all I could, did all the minor side quests before doing the IFF mission. I have loyalty from all but Zaeed and Jack. After recruting Legion I did his loyalty mission to get his upgrades then proceeded to Omega 4. I chose Legion for the ducts, and Garrus as the 2nd team leader. I took Tali and Miranda. I didn't loose a single team member.

For the final push I had Samara shield me, Tali and Miranda. Not one casualty. Just wished Samara would walk faster.

Crewmen Chambers, Rupert, and Gabby  were 'processed', according to Dr. Chakwas. I sent Mordin to escort crew back to ship. All arrived safe.

Tali and I double teamed with combat drones. Her's lvl 4 and mine lvl 3. I used lvl 4 heavy incinerate and lvl 4 heavy reaver with the SMG for cleanup. 2 Cain rounds right in the face of the Reaper and it was over before I knew it. I opted to destroy the Collector base.

OT: Very disappointed in the end boss fight. What were they thinking? Who would use glass tubes to support reaper? In a way was much like the Thorian in ME1. I think the support tubes should have been restricted to heavy weapons fire. Plus would have been more challenging if the freed reaper would move around more, to attack from all sides.

Well, if you decide to wait and farm resources after your crew is kidnapped, and by your delay some or all die, that's more your fault than the games. Everyone should know, once the crew is taken, the clock is ticking, and you've already seen enough being on the collector ship that those taken won't live for long.

If you dont have Garrus, Jacob or Miranda as the team leader...the vent runner will die regardless of whether or not its tali or legion (who are the best choices)

from what I understand, any upgrades not taken, one member dies, (Not sure that includes just Normandy or both ship and personal.) Sending anyone but a good tech, someone dies, bad leader. (Other than Garrus, or the cheerleader) someone dies. Taking some that's not loyal on your team with you on the final fight, they die. Sending crew back by themselves, they die. And last, doing any missions or stopping someplace else after crew is taken, 50% die, 2 stops, all crew but the doctor dies. Think that's it.

That's not true... I had Miranda lead the opposite team  (both times) with Tali in the ducts... No casaulties  what so ever... I was REALLY surprised that I didnt lose one single team member. I took Grunt and Leigon with me the whole time and they kicked ass!

i put Legion crawling on the vents, Make Miranda to lead the 1st strike team, enter the base ( cuz she wanted so bad )... even jack didnt like her very much,

I send Morodin back to the ship with the normandy crew. Put Jack incharge to maintain the field, to covered my lovely arsh, cuz she had more powerfull Biotics, and put Jacob incharge to be fire team leader, Cuz he got L5 Biotic implants too :)).

Mission went wel, nobody's died.

then i took Miranda and Garrus to fight the human reaper... Luv it though, i drain their shields, Miranda overload them, Garrus finished the job with his incredible sniper rifle.. quite a shot by the way :)). i only upgraded garrus to be more spec to his sniper rifle. And it paid off

you boost his combatant skills, and give him the Geth sniper Rifles. Plus Jack with her powerfull biotics, hehe, i was playing Insane mode, it felt like playing the easy mode.

Sometimes, bringing your favorite char, wont do you any good. Cuz you like them to have on your side, But, if you look more precizly what they can do, each individual can / might suprise ya.

Good tip.. Everyone on Normandy are loyal to you, they follow you to w/e end, so, try to play with multiple/ variant team m8. it will paid off.

and sorry my english here lol... :)) not my primary language :))

That's what Mav said.

In order to have your tech specalist survive, you must do a number of things:

1. Choose Tali or Legion and have them be loyal as the tech specialist
2. Choose Jacob, Garrus or Miranda as the 2nd fire team leader and have them also be loyal.

Anything, and the tech specialist will die, no matter who it is, or whether they've been upgraded, or whether they're loyal or not.

There's countless threads about this.

  • Buy Jacob's ship armor, Garrus' cannons, and Tali's shielding.
  • Do every loyalty mission.
  • Do everything that you can possibly think of before IFF mission. Afterwards, do Legion's loyalty mission, then go STRAIGHT to the Omega 4 Relay.
  • Tali/Legion in vents.
  • Garrus/Jacob/Miranda as fire team leader.
  • Jack/Samara/Morinth holding biotic barrier.
  • Garrus/Jacob/Miranda as distraction team leader.
  • Anyone loyal to escort the crew back.
  • Take only loyal teammates to fight the Human-Reaper.
  • Leave Garrus/Grunt/Zaeed to help the other teammates hold the line.
Everyone will now survive.;)

EDI already give ya a hint, that AI can interact more faster compared to organics, but to bad, they are suspect. like hacking.. you should know, you will send Legion to crawl to vents system lol.. beside, on Legion loyal mission, he prooved you that he can hack into the heretics mainframe.. like he said.. a variable 188732 send, it will be 188731 receipt. hehehehe... thats mean alot for a cybernatics lol..

wel i dont know whatsa ME3 looks like.. so i try to tip tops the balance power.

- Destroying the Heretics base, and keep the Collector base.

- Overwritten the Geretics logic with GETH logic, and destroy the Collector base.

Like i said, i dont know whats ME3 would be, so i like to keep everything in balance. Beside, dont forget sheppard hidden allies. Rachny Queen, that he saved from ME1. the Queen send a message to sheppard on Illium, that they are rebuilding, and they will sing for the kindness that sheppard did to their queen.

who knows, i just got a feelings, that ME3, the rachny queen will play a major role. to ecounter the Reapers.

the connection from ME1 + 2 are too inconvinion to see the fact, Sheppard are collecting an allied.

Rachny Queen - ME1

Consort asari - ME1

Flotilla - ME2

GETH - ME2

Councel - Me 1 & 2

---------------------------------------------------

imagen on ME 3 . if all of this people fight side by side. Because i remember what the VI vigil said on ME1. the reaper doesnt have a chance to fight all living organics in galaxy, if they united under 1 banner. Seems to me, the outcome story of Me 3 its already determined, by this outcome.

Who knows, maybe i was wrong.

ps, appology my english though :))

Yehh,.. we just dont know what the story boards looks like, it would be fine, to know in advance, how things going though, like the Lord of the rings. We all knew how the story goes from the books. And it so damn exiting to watch, when those movie comes out,

And the different on this one, ME are RPG game, so, you are the one who will have fully control for the outcome of this Epic trilogy games.

Tell you honestly, this ME storyboard, just beat Star Wars. Hopefully they will come out with the big screen soon lol, offcourse also trilogy, heehehe
