Space-bar, skipping dialogue, and selecting the wrong option

When doing another play-through I sometimes like to use the space-bar to skip all of the dialogue I've heard dozens of times. However I dislike how the space-bar is also used to select conversation options. Often I am selecting the response I didn't want to pick because I have spammed the space-bar too much.

For Mass Effect Andromeda please make it so the button to skip the dialogue is not the same button as the one that's used for selecting conversation options. Make it so another button is used or only the mouse can select the dialogue wheel.

This issue isn't a big one. I tend to quick-save before all conversations so I can simply load the previous save if the wrong option is selected. Thought I'd share it anyway.

I'd like this as well. I have learned to wait a second before pressing 'Space' bar, but still, it's very annoying.

I learned to take it slow when it comes to certain conversations. Good thing most of them have no consequence, only information dialogue. But still. My suggestion would be nice anyway.

They should definitely take notes on how Dragon Age handles the conversation selection and skipping mechanics.

The X button (or it's PC/PS4 equivalent) is used to skip dialogue only.

The A button (or it's PC/PS4 equivalent) is used to select dialogue only.

Dragon Age has this? Awesome! This means there's a higher chance of MEA getting it.

Indeed. Dragon Age has had it since Origins. It was kind of jarring going from DA to ME and I'm jamming on the X button to skip dialogue and I accidentally select the wrong option.

It's such a simple thing. I'm surprised it wasn't in the previous ME games.

Hopefully we get it in MEA. :)

I really hope for this as well. It's something which has been annoying me each time I've played the game.

Normally I hover the mouse around so I don't accidentally click on the right hand side convo.

Not sure if this is just an issue with the PC.  On the Xbox 360,  I use the "back" button to skip cutscenes, X to skip dialogue, and A to select dialogue.  Don't think the X would work as much of a skip mechanism if a person had to hit X and then A to get it to skip whenever a dialogue wheel appears.  People would just wind up trying to quickly spam both buttons then and probably miss their cue to stop skipping anyways.

This is one small thing where I wouldn't mind BW taking a cue from Fallout 4 - let us quick-save during conversations. Sometimes it's possible to quick-save right before one starts, but sometimes it's more like:

1) Auto-save before a big combat sequence

2) Several minutes of combat with no saves allowed

3) Immediate cutscene

4) Cutscene turns into conversation with multiple dialogue choices

5) Another immediate cutscene

6) Post-mission dialogue on the shuttle or the Normandy

If one of your dialogue choices came out in a way you don't like and you want to try it again, you have to find a manual save somewhere before (1), which can mean replaying quite a bit.

The ME3 ending is the worst with this - there are no quicksaves or manual saves allowed once you get to the Citadel, but there are repeated autosaves, so if anything comes out "wrong" when talking to TIM, Anderson, or the Catalyst, you have to sit through the entire ending and *then* go all the way back to the "Restart Mission" save. That's probably something like 30-40 minutes just to redo one line.

I do too, but I seem to remember that doing the same thing.

It's only really annoyed me about once or twice every playthrough of the series because I like to get into the dialogue and don't replay so often, but yeah, I'd like separate buttons for skipping and picking options too.

Space only selects highlighted options. Move the mouse so nothing is selected and you can spam spacebar without risk.
