Hi everybody, I'm on my second playthrough of the game and decided try romancing Josephine, I've had the cutscenes about her being engaged following here lies the abyss, but the duel hasn't appeared on my war table at all, I understand I should have appeared top right of Fereldan but I have checked other locations, have I missed something with her?
It's worth pointing out that I have noriced that before this, that at some point the alone time option has disappeared as if I have broken it off with her but I have definitely not done this.....
Anybody have any suggestions???

Yup, by the time I'd done here lies the abyss I made sure I'd exhausted all options with her, I deliberately put it off until I was sure there was nothing else to,do......

Hmm, that is weird. 
Her romance was my first in DAI and I had no problems...
Did you talk to Leliana? I'm not sure anymore if she says something at this point, but she's Josie's friend and very protective of her.

Yeahs I've had the overprotective big sister talk.... I've had the date in the garden and chat on my balcony, I've given her the family crest... But it seems that she's acting like I broke it off.... But haven't

So you got the scene where she tells you about the engagement? I know you have to talk to her about that after you see it.
I may be wrong, but she does say that while the engagement is on, she won't do anything romantic with the Inquisitor.

Yeah I had that, but even before that I seemed to have lost the romantic option to have some time together, in fact until I did the quest and got the engagement cutscenes I thought the romance had ended....

Hmmm. Well, either you should try doing Wicked Eyes and see what happens, as i did that when i romanced her and it went fine. Or revert to an older save. I've read a walkthrough that suggests WEWH needs to be done before the duel can happen, but it might not be 100% correct.
Secondly, i have heard of a bug that prevents you from completing her romance in a variety of ways, though it usually involves the messenger not arriving or the duel scene not triggering.

Isn't WEWH also the quest your usually end with a dance with your chosen romance ? Or am I misremembering?

As a thought.... I've just done the Varric poker scene and she does acknowledge me as her love there

Hrm, difficult to say. I usually do WEWH first, and it triggers her romance just fine.
Good, so she hasn't broken up with your poor Inquisitor just yet.

You don't need to do both the wicked eyes and the plot with the warden. The duel could happen before I had to go to Orlais for me. I just didn't do it immediately because I wanted the relationship to happen " slowly "
To the op, did Josephine mention the idea of the duel herself ? That is after this moment that normally a new mission appears on the map.
Did your inquisitor talked about this idea with Josephine after she learned you she was engaged ? You have to pick one of the tree dialogue options about the idea of a duel for her and after that, normally it happens.
If that's the case, what does she say when you try to talk to her ?
What does say your journal about what you are currently supposed to do ?

I am currently playing with my canon inquisitor, and just a few days before, it happened for me. So I'm totally certain, it's definitely possible. I have finished the wicked eyes and heart after the cutescene about Josephine being engaged happened. I didn't even have any choice actually. i just wanted to go to the war room to begin the wicked heart, and it happened automatically while I opened the door of the piece where she was.
But to be honest, I tried to talk to her several times every single time I finished a big quest with Josephine, so that's probably why it happened that quickly for me.
The path with Josephine is way quicker than the other romances actually.

Wow. Then something wrong happened. The only time I had a quest which was written no longer available for me, it was with Iron Bull when i have finished the game before doing his personal quest. It meant that I have definitely missed the content and couldn't play it anymore. I hope it isn't the same case for you. 
What does she say when you talk to her ? Were you engaged with someone else ?

I think you hit the bug that stops her romance from progressing, OP. It's happened to me twice.
