Though the info is directed to RTO, Victor Wachter did state that the "investment" went far beyond RTO and the Awakening add-on. So maybe something will come regarding the asthetics of the armor and weapons. We'll have to wait and see.

Wonders of Thedas in Denerim sells different robes. You can go there right from Lothering, but some of the robes might be too expensive for you at this point--Wonders is not a cheap store. If you're on the fence about getting a particular robe, save your game before buying it, see how it looks on you, and if its appearance is objectionable enough to make you regret purchasing it, reload.
Also, if you have the Warden's Keep DLC, the robes you can get in it don't look shabby in the least. They're pretty snazzy royal blue threads.
