I don't really remember Revan. That was so long ago. I've been trying to play KOTOR again though.

Revan - A progie that very charsmatic (has that thing on it), and you can choice between dark and the light side, each with different endings....

I would LOVE to hear ideas. I myself am hoping for a complete bad ass. Like spike Spiegel type of protagonist. Someone who can live up to our wildest expectations.

I want a complete badass normal MC myself.

I actually started typing up a lengthy response, and then realized I was just describing Shepard.

So, yeah.  Since we won't be getting Shepard, I'm good with whatever.  I'll either like the new guy or I won't, same as with any other new game that doesn't have a returning MC.

I'm firmly in the camp hoping this protagonist will be the Picard to Shepard's Kirk.

Yes! If Andromeda had some kind of analogue to this scene - or, indeed, any of Picard's best - I'd quite literally cry tears of joy. In Inquisition, my single favourite moment was dismantling the duchess' plans - with nothing but words! - in front of the entire court, and I think I realise now that the reason why that scene resonated with me so much is that it felt like what Picard would do, with perhaps a mite more snark.

Bugger it all--now that I've considered the possibility of a Picard-esque protag, I'm definitely going to end up disappointed by whatever we actually get, no matter how good they are!

Something along the lines of Pillar of Eternity's protagonist where you can flesh out his/her personality and have a reactive reputation. I'd like the character to have limitations, weaknesses, mortality, and a world that doesn't revolve around him/her. Meaning companions/NPCs sometimes do make their own choices regardless of your input, not everything you do works in your favor, not everyone falls head over heels for you (and sometimes flat out reject you, not so nicely even), and that based on your class or skillset there are some things you just can't do. Of course it'd be great to have SOME influence and definitely branching story paths depending on the decisions you make (especially drastic ones), but to me I like my PCs to be PART of the world itself as opposed to being the world CONTROLLER.

As long as s/he isn't another Herald/Space Jesus and not TOO railroaded in terms of personality (DAI as far as the whole 'Chosen One' crap goes/ME3 in general...) I'll be fine. And have class/skills/personality matter.

yeah I tend to play my paragon shep's like how I would imagine the likes of Picard and Sisko would handle the situation.

What protagonist do YOU want.

A radically different one with each playthrough, where I have total control over his personality.

i want a protagonist who is the complete opposite of the hero stereotype, i want them to be flawed, broken, and depending on player choice - psychopathic, also i want the protagonist to be the most hated person in the galaxy

I think it would be interesting if something happens, a disaster of some kind that wipes out enough of the chain of command, that you get suddenly left in charge, so while you have a capable protagonist in terms of training, you are very inexperienced and thus, very capable of making mistakes, big ones. You also have the usual growing pains with finding your confidence.

I'd actually find it refreshing if you could doom the expedition unwittingly with choices you make and not know it for a long ways in as things spiral slowly out of control.

I mean Shep was an experienced operator from the start. I want someone who is maybe going to eventually be like Shep, but has to form up into that over time and we get to shape that process.

I want a villain protagonist. Or at the very least one in which everybody thinks you're the bad guy because you're doing what they don't have the sack to do to save your people, and you're being actively hunted across Helius(?) by a heroic, possibly Shepard-like antagonist.

So like an anti hero. Like the punisher?

No, I mean a villain protagonist. For example, someone like the Imperial characters in SWTOR. Just because your Sith Warrior is light-sided s/he's still the bad guy as far as the story is concerned, y'know? That's the kind of protagonist I'd like to see, in that you could do good things and help people, but as far as the story is concerned you are the still bad guy. You are still being opposed by the heroic antagonist.

Not another action hero or bad guy like shepard was. Just...can we get someone like Hawke? An everyman who rises to greatness and has to do it by their own determination, and not because a glowing artifact made them a chosen one? Just someone in over their heads, and who isn't the man with all the answers. A few I don't know dialogue options can go a long way to making a more interesting character.

I guess if I needed to make if simplified, a smartass sarcastic character would be nice. Also someone whose charisma choices were based more on intelligence and reading people then just spouting the same lines as the non-charismatic option, but with a prompt at the end determined by your stat numbers.

If it means anything, Shepard didn't really have all the answers either; it's just that the answer to most questions was "kill em all". I guess the moral of that story is: violence solves just about everything, including bullets to the head.

I want someone who is kinda like Miranda. Strong, confident, badass and neither paragon or renegade but something in between or perhaps she is more renegade but becomes soft and paragon with the right person. Anyway, that's something along the lines of what I would like xD

If BioWare isn't going to let me romance Kasumi, they should let me play as Kasumi.

If the people causing me problems are dead, they wont be causing me any more problems.

That's why you bring a Revenant. Then you can solve 650 problems per minute.

I think this is where the player background could come into play. It would be awesome to have a gritty background to go hand and hand with a character whom is may be a bit unstable per se.

LOL. It can be very entertaining playing a Casanova in one playthrough.

The End Game remains the same, regardless of our hero's character.  A gritty char like Jessica Jones (HBO) might be interesting, though.  As we play, depending on our choices, background info is revealed and hidden powers unfold somewhere along the story arc.

Yeah but she was kind of a stuck up( you can fill in the rest). don't get me wrong she was hot and she did lighten up a bit but she was a little too rigid for my taste. If she were perfect, she would have had a winning personality.

Yeah but this is our protagonist we're talking about, that means we get to fill in the rest and play her as we want to. I'm not saying give us a standard protagonist, I'm just saying something along the lines of Miranda and then I'll fill in the rest, shine her up or improve her lol.

I'd rather have someone like Miranda on the crew.
