You do realize that Vivienne is the same woman who is willing to start a mage civil war despite outright admitting that the College is a good place for mages to train merely because she has no rank in the College?

It's funny for you to say that, because it's the College who attacked the Circle and it leaders where only spared because Vivienne allowed it.

When the mages rebelled, people like me had nowhere to go. The templars would have killed us. Luckily, Seeker Penthagast too me in, along with the tranquil I was protecting.

Yes, but that was referring to the overall war, not Tranquil becoming ocularum.

Proof that the college was the one that started the war? Considering Vivienne is the one who starts the war in divine Leliana ending and the Cassandra conscripted Mage ending has her do everything to silence any pro freedom opinions, I'm certain Vivienne is the one who starts the war.

Oh Vivienne... Please stop causing chaos in my worlds just to get your way...

Fun fact:  Vivienne almost hit me in real life yesterday!

I was walking through a parking lot when a parked car almost pulled out too fast and nearly slammed into me.

A beautiful African American woman rolls down the window and says:  "So sorry darling..."

I almost didn't respond because I was like... "What?  Who?  Vivienne? What?"

@thesuperdarkone2:  Maybe!  LOL.

I just started cracking up... I'm sure she thought I was insane.  After all - she almost crushed me with her car.

But she even had the formal, imperious voice!  I swear it was Viv... I almost asked her about mage politics.

Which is evidently untrue considering Vivienne and her followers.

And could they have gotten to Vivienne alive?

There are other mages hiding in caves, barricaded in Circle towers, etc.

Vivienne can't be everywhere.  Gameplay mechanics aside, teleportation does not exist in Thedas.

There is no war in the Leliana ending and there is no war in the Concripted/Divine Cass, please show me otherwise.
I'm talking about this one (mages allied and Divine
Cass):
Some believed that the end of the Inquisition as it had been heralded the destruction of the fledgling College of Enchanters. Having clashed against the Circle, the College now found itself without support against the newly elected Grand Enchanter, Vivienne. Fortunately, Grand Enchanter Vivienne grudgingly agreed not to destroy its terrified leaders, as a personal favor to Divine Victoria.

Thank you for the quote though I see it differently: When Minaeve says people like me, it seems to me like she is referring to mages and specifically mages who did not wish to rebel as otherwise she could have joined the rebels. There were rebels amongst her Circle afterall as I believe she says her Circle rebelled.

Whether she would be able to journey there especially with the Tranquils aside, would Minaeve even know there were mages who had not rebelled and where they'd be located? It is not as if she could send birds and I do not think chaos does well for functional oral communication.

Those considerations are irrelevant to the argument at hand.

Barquiel claimed that Templars murdered every Tranquil they could find. Considering that Vivienne's group exists, then not every Templar was murdering every Tranquil they could find.

That's how you know you're playing too much Dragon Age.

I can't look at my teacher without seeing Alistair. He is a blond guy with the same hairdo the former had in Origins.

. Come now, you're smarter than to fall into a gameplay/story segregation issue.

She is? Since when?

It's a pretty typical Xil conceit to make expansive but weak claims that she'll back away from if challenged on the source.

We have no reason to distrust Vivienne's assertion and no evidence to directly counter it.

But Truthiness.

They knew about it, read The Last Flight. It seems that modern Grey Wardens simply lost a lot of their knowledge. Broodmothers aren't that numerous either until a blight happens.

This book was wrote as a prequel but actually DAO came first so i think is just a case of writing issues, there is no reason for the GW to forget the broodmothers they just wanted to have the big reveal in DAO, thus this and others Gw secrets were mostly treated as gotcha moments for no logic reason.

I think Gaider confirmed that the wardens didn't know about broodmothers until after origins.

I think it's kinda silly how that's all gotten muddled. I highly doubt we were the first to discover broodmothers in DAO.

I like to have healthy amounts of faith in some people's ability to make arguments, combined with a slight sense of derision
