If you pre-order a year in advance you get a bonus anal intercourse with an electric cattle-prod, on yourself.

People will definitely buy the game regardless, but is there a reason to pre-order? Does Bioware give exclusive items for pre-order people?

Nah, I'm gonna wait until it's on Steam so that I can look at reviews.
I doubt the game will EVER be on Steam.

If I could pre download it so it's ready to play on day one, that's a pretty good reason, in my opinion. Origin can be notoriously slow sometimes when downloading and installing digital games, I'd rather not wait an extra day or two, if the price is the same either way. I mean, I don't know if pre downloading will be a possibility with pre orders, but I'd like it if it worked out that way.

Why not? DAO and DA2 are on steam - who says that it will not?

IIRC, it's the same reason why you won't see DA:I on Steam. EA wanted to do their own service with Origin and after I think 2012, they stopped allowing any new games to be on Steam. So it looks like it's just a business decision. It might happen, but it isn't very plausible.
Now, I've heard there was an actual falling out between the companies, but it could be online "news" exaggerating yet again.

I like ME games.
I probably will pre-order, but not until a few days before launch,
and only so I can play at launch.

I will pre-order the collector edition... I'm not sure we will have one on my country but if it's the case, we will have only very few of them. This is why I want to pre-order it or I have 90% of chance to totally miss it :/
I'm not pre-ordering games often, but for ME I will.

Based on plenty of other bioware games I purchased.
If I can install and enjoy a game 10 years after it's release it says something.
could really use new Mass Effect now.. so heck why not.
Also as proper bioware fan I usually pre-order the new game - > pre load and play as soon as they out.
iirc this game should have been released during 2016 so I was wondering when the pre-order option is out.
How exactly does pre-ordering help?

I will prolly buy the better option of the good, better, best options presented. The best option comes with stuff I don't really care about anyway. 'Course, then again, I might just buy the best option, provided that it comes with a 12" asari figure. (*cough*hint*cough*)

Me too. Cause I don't see it as a waste to spend my money on video games, I see it as an investment. When I got divorced a few years ago I needed some cash because I refused to take money from my ex husband and I decided to sell some of my old ps2 games. I think I sold around 3 games, not more and I made nearly 800 pounds in total!! For OLD PS2 GAMES lol. They'll probably be even more worth in the future but what the hell, I have hundreds of games laying around still xD It's an Investment.

I'd pre-order a re-mastered trilogy for PS4!
This is about the only thing I'd pre-order and buy new from EAware, just so I could play ME1 and ME2 again with updated graphics.

I need to see more of the game before I consider pre-ordering it.
