Andromeda is a great game, it's a huge game! Everyone I talk to agree that it's a huge game, a massive game. Let me tell you, it's a tremendous game. Really just tremendous.
I can't wait for Andromeda steaks, Andromeda water, Andromeda University.

I just thought I'd butt in and say....
I don't trust amateur gaming blog / websites who just post bits and pieces of stuff we already know with speculation just to get hits.
I trust gameinformer, IGN and Gamespot, and that's about it.

You were doing okay until you said you trust IGN.

There. Is that better?

To be honest even big sites like IGN and Gamespot aren't against running clickbait "news" articles just for the sake of ad revenue.
I'm a great person, everyone keeps telling me what a great person I am. People, they come up to me and say, "Arcian, you're a tremendous guy." That's what they say, they think I'm a tremendous guy.You are a bad person, and I laughed.
Not really true. They could've cut 100 hours of 4-member-party fetch & collection quests in empty lands and instead taken a few of the biggest war table missions and animated them, showing armies and other characters involved. They could've kept the war table but better integrated it with everything else.
Remember the scale of the original DAI keeps. 3 keeps and 4 party members taking each one? Really?
I don't even know what you mean by this. If you mean before they had to scale back the Keeps system, nobody remembers because they never showed that system.

And let me tell you, BioWare are so low-energy these days, they're low-energy and they don't win anymore. They're a mess, their games are a mess, the whole forum, it's just a big, huge mess. We've seen them run this forum, and they've destroyed it, just absolutely destroyed it. And their games? They used to make the greatest games in the world, now they're making the worst. We need to rebuild the BSN, make it great again. I will build a wall around the BSN, a great and tremendous wall, and it will keep out the casuals and losers who thought the ending of ME3 was a good idea. I will build that wall and make EA pay for it.

They obviously did not do a very good job changing BSN. More like thought police and don't know how to take criticism. If I were the administrator I allow people to express themselves of what they really feel about the game and ideas from people that BW can do to make a better game. Now I set up Zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, threats of violence, etc.Let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that Bioware doesn't know what they're doing. They knows EXACTLY what they're doing. Bioware is undertaking a systematic effort to change this forum, to make BSN more like the rest of the internet.
That's why they closed off-topic and banned PenguinFetish and created modbots and locked the Nudity thread. It is a systematic effort to change BSN. When I'm administrator of the BSN, we are going to re-embrace all the things that made BSN the greatest forum in the world and we are going to leave new users with what they deserve: the single greatest forum in the history of the world.
As big as the hole Bioware have dug for themselves?
I have to say that I am more positive about ME having a huge world than DA. I think in ME it helps more in terms of atmosphere. If we are explorers in space, a huge number of planets, even if they are fairly desolate, helps to convey a feeling of vastness. I think it worked in ME1 (I know, not everyone's cup of tea) and if they can improve on this concept I think it might be a good thing in ME:A as well.
I just really hope that they don;t go the "Ubisoft" route (as they did in DA:I to an extent) and clutter all these maps up with stupid collectables. Don't be afraid to have less stuff on your maps. Don't be afraid to have side locations that are mainly there for their beauty and offer maybe just one or two little things to discover in really hard to find places.
Even if it is not for everyone to explore all these places thoroughly, even for those who don't really see the content, the fact that they know its there already creates the illusion of a bigger universe and that's ultimately the best argument for it.
I have to admit, I wasn't a super big fan of the more desolate places in DA:I like the Whispering Wastes because for me DA is all about interacting in a vibrant fantasy world where ever other corner holds some magnificent new wonder. But ME on the other hand, trying to convey the vastness of space as a setting is much more suited for some of these environment to be explored on the side.
Of course, all of this on top of a great story, I wouldn't want to sacrifice that very important aspect of a Mass Effect experience either.
Well, let's list off the races that we already have had meaningful interactions with.
- Asari
- Turians
- Salarians
- Krogans
- Vorcha
- Elcor
- Volus
- Hanar
- Collectors
- Reapers
- Geth
- Quarians
- Drell
- Prothean (saying this 'cause we only met 1)
- Yahg
- And of course humanity
If you think about it, they came from maybe 6-8 different clusters of stars. So, I'm not far off when I say that we could be dealing with 2-4 new races.
Mass Effect 4: Progress Bar War confirmed.
Wait...what? With the exception of the Geth (who dont count since the Quarians created them), and the Reapers (likewise dont count), or the Collectors, every single species you listed (13 total) came from a different star cluster, separated by thousands of light years from all other star clusters.
Some, like the Turians and Volus, originate from adjacent/relatively close star clusters about 5,000 Ly apart or so. But space is so vast, the Volus actually found the Citadel over a thousand years before their own species or any other species actually made contact with the Turians.
So, like I said, having us run into 3 new civilizations...thats still too many for a single star cluster, unless they are all advanced, spacefaring civilizations that have totally colonized their particular region of Andromeda and their homeworlds aren't in that particular cluster.
Now, if the game doesn't actually take place in a single star cluster but instead a significant portion of a single galactic arm - that's another story.
Personally, I hope they reintroduce the relay network. 1) because its iconic and 2) it would eliminate lore and logic problems that are plagued by having the game take place in a very locally restricted region of space. They could start the game off in the Helius Cluster, which you explore, but then stumble across a relay or an alien equivalent to one (reminiscent of that concept art, no?) and then dun dun dunnn - the implications are enormous, you go through it, end up in another cluster, and start exploring that until you have another Contact War on your hands.
To me, that would be most ideal.
Then we're defining star clusters differently.
Star clusters in my book are separated by thousands of light years, yes. But they are still part of the same cluster of stars. One star (IE the sun) doesn't make for a star "cluster". They are much easier to reach than the other star clusters which are hundreds of thousands of light years away.

That's not a star cluster. The Milky Way can't have star clusters that are hundreds of thousands of light years away from each other since the Milky Way's disc in its entirety is only about a hundred thousand light years across(one and a half hundred thousand if you are counting the halo). A star cluster as defined by astronomers are usually never more than thirty light years across.
A group of stars that are thousands of light years across is a dwarf galaxy.

No, they couldn't have. The resources needed for each of those two things are not equivalent.
I don't even know what you mean by this. If you mean before they had to scale back the Keeps system, nobody remembers because they never showed that system.
The resources for each of them don't need to be equal. They still should've cut one and enforced the other, even if one is more expensive to produce.
Just looking at the keeps we already have, and looking at Adamant, and some of the earlier demo footage, we can infer the keeps system. And it would just feel right, as befits the story at hand.
Argh, I googled PenguinFetish and didn't get anything! Not a single trace on GOOGLE!
My curiosity burns!!! It burns ![]()

After all of the talk about how the PS3 and 360 were holding DA: I back and that was some of the reason that game sucked so bad...
Did Bioware really say that? Or was it just speculation from disappointed fans?

No, Bioware actually said something along those lines about the older consoles not working with some stuff they had planned. It was when they were explaining why The Descent and Trespasser wouldn't be coming out for the 360 and PS3.
