It's a shame people use mods to cheat like this. I really don't see the appeal. I've been running mods on pug games only to do some balance to weapons and powers while making the spawns more refreshing and challenging, but apparently occasional surprise waves of 2 minute husk bombardment that slowly transition into possessed abominations and than into 10 banshees at once (the sound of abomination fireworks popping into multitude of unexpected banshee screams can be a really insane surprise factor) is too much and some people still complained about it. They did sign up for platinum, after all.. and one of my platinum mods is a real nightmare (but so much fun!).
You certainly can't carry on the hardcore mods alone, but 2-3 good players can carry a few waves, but not all game. It was designed to take effort of 4 good players (max geared) to complete the upgraded platinum, and I really enjoy how some pug players resolve the tense situations we find ourselves in and watching them finish the wave if I get knocked out is really enjoyable, because the struggle is real, but with some balance tweaks it is manageable now, it just looks more epic. After this I just can't go back to vanilla ME3 anymore, ever.
Was still the best time I had in ME3 with such crazy things you could do, I don't get it why somebody would not like something different.. I only stopped playing after vanilla game got too stale, mods can make it so much more interesting. If there would only more people running balanced and reasonably modded fun games instead of cheating lobbies that would be a lot of fun.
