I like all the guys. So I guess Udina wins by default. My least favorite character is Ashley. I let her live the first time I ever played Mass Effect because I wanted the booty, but I soon realized the mistake I made. Especially after much hotter girls presented themselves. Neither her or Kaidan were developed greatly.

Imo they should have had their own loyalty stuff just like the rest did. Bio sure did shove them to the side its almost as if Bioware hated them too giving us so many opportunities to get rid of them. Even Joker hates them and salutes you for not letting them back on the Normany. Kaidan atleast was a nice guy, always gave good advice. Even if you kill him during Citadel he's nicer than Ashley about it.

He has this brotherly friendship with Shep that Ash just doesn't have unless you romance her. it also helped that he was biotic and i'm a biotic supremacist so the soldier had to die LOL. Ash was easy to replace, because Wrex had her best skill (immunity) PLUS Biotics, and a sentinel was just more useful to the party than another soldier.

I guess I dislike Jacob too. He's not bad, just useless. Even his mission in ME3 was a snoozefest. Jack became an awesome biotic teacher. Miranda is playing James Bond......Jacob? he helps some refugees and then talks about settling down bleh.

Always good to find another Ashley hater/Kaidan appreciator. 

 

And I never disliked Jacob, he was a nice enough character, but the writers saw he wasn't that popular in ME2, and just decided to shoehorn poorly him in ME3 and the writing for him was just dreadful. Hell, even Dr. Brynn Cole was more developed in 3 than Jacob was. Didn't even try to develop him, or make him more meaningful an ally to Shepard. In the Citadel DLC he wasn't given good material either, which was a letdown. It just made it stood out more that if you took Jacob out of the entire trilogy, not much would really change, which is a shame, cause he was a nice character, a good guy, and loyal to Shepard. That's about it.

It's not that I hate Ashley. I liked her in ME1 tbh. She had some decent banter. I liked her especially on Virmire "nothing like being on the beach blasting bad guys with mah boomstick". Her voice actor dropped the ball COMPLETELY in 3 however. I know because I decided not to import my save for one playthrough. A lot of her lines were poorly acted and some even sounded like she was reading straight from the script. Kaidan had longer lines often as well thanks to his intelligence. Ultimately Kaidan felt more like a soldier whose seen some stuff than Ashley did.

He delivered lines with more passion. Like on Mars he's like "No way can you take this facility with anything less than a full batallion" you just know he knows what the heck he's talking about the way he delivers that line. But Ashley was just like "You needs lots of guys to take this place" or something along those lines and it's like Ashley boooooo LOL. Kaidan's voice actor is just by far superior, that and he's a better squadmate. Ashley gets dropped almost as much as Garrus in a fight, but Garrus is excused for being awesome. Ashley's not. I don't feel like i'm missing anything with Ashley not in the picture because James pretty much fills that role. He's like a better version of Ashley.

Garrus Vakarian, Urdnot Wrex, Mordin Solus (despite having, to me, one of the most awesome scenes in ME3), Jacob Taylor, Joker Moreau, Steven Hackett, Saren Arterius, Padok Wiks, Bailey, Balak.

 

Dislike:

Donnel Udina, James Vega, Kaidan Alenko, Steve Cortez, Jenkins, Conrad Verner, All male Quarian council members, actually, most Quarian males except for Kal'Reegar, Randall Ezno, Engineer Adams, Kenneth Donnelly, Kai Leng, Captain Kirrahe, Urdnot Wreav, Richard Jenkins, Dr. Wilson

Loved: Kaidan alenko, Wrex, and Thane, actually every male companion we had these three are just my top fave XD

 

Hated with a burning passion of a thousand suns: Kai lame, he had potential to be a likable villain like TIM or saren but he just came out like a try hard 2D ninja villain which was really and star brat, enough said  ...

... like Kaidan, Wrex, Grunt, Kal'Reegar, Veetor, Mordin, Joker (most of the time), James, Steve (absolutely nicest guy in the entire franchise, imo), Thane, Javik, Zaeed, Nihlus. Saren as an exception because he was great as an antagonist.

 

... don't exactly know where to put Garrus, Anderson, and Hackett. Also, Bailey. Kind of a like-dislike relationship depending on the point in the games.

 

... feel meh about Jacob and Jenkins (but the latter at least has a good excuse). 

 

... dislike TIM, Gavin Archer, Uvenk, Harkin, and Han'Gerrel, but think they are good characters. Also, Eliah Kelham, Udina and Donovan Hock. That one bloody colonist left on Horizon who doesn't do anything except for harping about stuff, ugh. Jacob's dad. I generally tend to dislike mean bastards.

 

... hate Kai Leng and Star Brat and wouldn't mind seeing them erased out of the video game history forever.

 

... would like to make at least an honourable mention of that C-Sec guy in the Lower Wards of the Citadel in ME1 that's so damn excited to work there and see all the aliens. Also, Conrad Verner because he's kind of fun. Also, Kenneth Donnelly because he makes me giggle sometimes. Also, Pressly and Adams.

 

Probably not all, but that's all I can can put together right now.

Favorites are Garrus and Mordin, and it's not particularly close. Kaidan is my canon LI, but Shepard's relationship with Garrus in ME3 almost turned me around on that. Basically I wish that Kaidan was as good of a boyfriend as Garrus was a friend.

Least favorite is Jacob and it's not particularly close. Boring character, dialogue, and a uniquely boring mission that I don't think you can finish without Jacob being loyal. The one thing that makes me really dislike Jacob and wish I could just kick him off the Normandy, is when he tells Tali to say hi to the ship's AI. I mean, I'd rather have Zaaed in the armory at that point.
