Don't even ask me how I got here... I'm not even sure myself. I was wandering around OOB, then... *poof*

I arrived here...

EDIT: Video

Looking around... I see Eluvians on the ceilings, walls, ladders at odd angles, and... loot!

Sure enough, the Eluvians are all connected and you can get around the walls and ceiling depending on which ones you go through (it's a bit of a puzzle...)

Loot is mostly generic stuff (so far)... with the odd goodie.

Screenshot_Win32_1025_Final.jpg

There is an "exit" Eluvian as well, which takes you to the Winter Palace entrance...

Perhaps a small map for the dev to test out the Eluvians and teleporting mechanics between them?

Then they left it in there , thinking no one would ever find those.

It may not be a "eluvian pre Vir-Dirthara" test" spot the creators used either, some of the objects--including loot--are deliberately placed and the general furniture in the area seems to indicate a certain level of intended design. Most testing areas OOB don't even bother with decoration outside what is absolutely necessary.

But then again, if there are exact copies of the floor + decorations located somewhere in the Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts quest line areas lying around, that may explain the familiar interior decorating.

Regardless I have a new fanfiction worthy headcanon now. That this "pocket Halamshiral quarters" is where Briala formerly housed her followers, and where Fen'Harel may now houses his. The place seems like a decent place to live and sleep in.

Just uploaded some video of the area, just ignore some of the garbage I forgot to edit out in the beginning... ;)

It seems to be deliberately built, with treasure in place and organized in how you get around. I suspect it's either an Easter Egg (accessible somewhere else) or it could have been an Eluvian level they just decided not to use (for whatever reason).

I was heading away from the Winter palace from the bell tower side (near the corner where Cassandra lingers), parallel to the revine for maybe ~2 min.(?) when I ran into something invisible, then *poof* I'm in the Chateau.

Needless to say, I have a bunch of save points in there cause I'm not sure if I can find it again!

Something to do with those binoculars? I never understood what those binocular posts were for.

It'd be great if was tied to something like that and not like, say... the Smallest Cave quest where it's ridiculously difficult to discover. ;)

Does anyone recognize the location "reflected" in the Eluvians there...? The Crossroads?

Do your OOB saves actually take? I tried making a few while OOB in Hinterlands but they never showed up in my save list. The last one I had access to was from before going OOB.

The only thing I found them useful for was keeping an eye on the green rift-y thing up in the sky.

I thought they were for spotting the Harlequins. (tho it doesn't make sense for the one pointed at that village )

They do - with one caveat. If I try to make a save that is too close to an "in-bound" area, I will appear in-bounds when I load that save. So for safety, I always save ~100 yards away from any in-bound area and I'm fine.

Interesting that they don't even show in your Save list - are you on console?

Yup - thanks!

I spend so much time out-of-bounds, it's actually a hefty percentage of my total gameplay now...  ^_^

Okay, that's doubly-weird then...

Hmm, maybe hitting the save limit? I'd try again (making sure you're way OOB) and see if there wasn't just some hiccup somewhere...

Welcome :)

I'd love to go more OOB, but I only know two places where I can go OOB without using a mod for it :(

(one is the tavern in Skyhold and the other that one balcony in Val Royeaux)

That is quite the odd out of bounds treasure.

It is possible to get OOB in any area that allows you bring a mount.

It's tricky, but if you can wedge your mount's left side tightly up against one of the outer invisible walls (so that they're parallel), you can (with a little luck) dismount through those invisible walls (as you dismount to the left). I find that the War Nug is the best for this because it's the widest mount (and more likely to partially clip through those invisible walls).
