Well the statue is a symbol of Mythal , golden statues like this often means ancient elves origin too...But with what we've learned in Trespasser , it's not a surprise some ancient dwarves might have statues of elven gods.

Nice touch though.

Good eye! I keep forgetting Mythal has a dragon statue too (my first thought always runs to Tevinter when I see them ;) ).

Some pics of my favorite glitches :)

Skyhold is freakin' huge when you get out of the castle.

25548306584_d82e818687_h.jpgskyhold2 by UltimateGraphics,

There's a youtube that sets it up easily, just jump out of the gate at the end, more or less, but this can take a few times to get it right. Once you're outside you can see just how massive an area it is.

25548307014_ea150758cd_h.jpgskyh by UltimateGraphics,

I wonder if this was originally supposed to be developed. You can get out all the way to the mountains in the distance, but since you can't ride a horse, it's very hard when the ground gets like glue. But I've worked my way out to the edge. It took 2 hours, roughly.

Then you get over to the side, where you can see Skyhold waaaaaay off in the distance below with the purple missing texture. This is only about 10 percent out to the edge.

25880188490_a5b8b32a7b_h.jpgskyhold1 by UltimateGraphics,

Behind where she stands, this is the huge area where they get stuck in the snow on the way to Skyhold when leaving Haven.

25880189070_d6b9b5628d_h.jpgsky1 by UltimateGraphics,

If you keep going, you get out past all the mountains to a plains type area that gets very rough. I had to use the level 1 evade technique to make her jump over all of it, since I can't use the horses here.

Seriously, the glitches in the game are as big if not bigger than the playable areas. Emprise is just as big as Skyhold, mostly unused. What was originally planned, I wonder?

I couldn't resist, so I went OOB out of Skyhold, and BrandofTime is correct...its huge.

Fell through the world - Result:

Went into tactical mode while falling and was able to get this view of Skyhold:

Pretty fun stuff. Gonna check out other places as well.

Have any of you running around Skyhold found that wooded area that the Quizzy has his tryst with Cass? It's supposed to be around the castle. Which I always thought was silly.

Also, that Mythal statue is very reminiscent of Fen'Heral's statue at the beginning of the Elven Ruins, which was a key to move the bridge. You could have found a key to a secret passage - interesting.

Also found a lone black box under the Forbidden Oasis... I saw one similar to this beneath Val Royeaux, but that one killed you the moment you touched it. This one however... you could get in.

Well, since we're doing general OOB area explorations, here are a couple of my faves. Hrungr, with your trainer, you could probably do both in just one jump. I had to do it the hard way.

Dragon Island Dwarven Ruin

Hmm... maybe worth a return visit. However, I jumped on the candle a bunch of times hoping it'd be like the "Smallest Cave" quest... nada. :P

You've got a good technique though! I don't think I've seen that way before... This might be a good way for console users to get OOB.

This isn't out of bounds, but I was wondering if there's a special significance attached to this field of mushrooms:

I've only stumbled upon it once. I was quite surprised, thinking I'd seen every area in my prior playthroughs.

Oh, I came across those mushrooms, too. I am not aware of any special significance, but who knows what the devs might have had in mind.   :)

*Edited to add* The red fly mushrooms, like those ones, do have a significance in the real world, though. They're considered lucky in Germany and Austria, and I think possibly the Netherlands, too.

Where do you think I learned it from? ;) Guy on PS4 made a vid with the jump-and-tactical trick.

It doesn't always work -- in fact, it rarely works. There has to be a seam in the invisible walls that has a gap. The gap doesn't have to be very big, just one pixel (or more likely, a floating-point rounding error when calculating the coordinates of the wall edges), but it has to be there. Or else there is no way to work the Tactical cursor behind the wall.

When the terrain is rough, as is true in both those videos, there's more chance of a gap in the seam, and more chance the trick will work. In a smooth terrain situation, forget it.

@Almostfaceman

Yes, the grove is there. I had to go to the other side of the mountain on which Skyhold rests. Quite a bit of jumping to get around from the bottom, nothing else works. So after 20 min or so, I got up to an area that's behind the war room in Skyhold on the mountain. I could see parts of Skyhold and hear the sound effects. The zone had changed so that my weapons and evade ability were disabled just like being in the castle.  Suddenly a wall just appeared about 20 ft or so from Skyhold, (not kidding) and I went around it and found the grove from the sequence. It's very small actually, but I'll try and post a pic or two later. They made all of it so that as soon as you walk away, it pops out of existence. I guess if we could have seen it from the balcony at Skyhold, a great many of us would have died over and over again trying to get there :)

In the Storm coast, you can actually jump over a part of the mountain on the small island where the dragon is and exlpore the rest of it. The island is about 4 times the size of the area you get to see, why they did this, I don't know. Just like having Skyhold be in a land mass roughly the size of the Hissing Wastes and not accessible.

On the way up to where the dragon is, the path twists and turns, but there is one area where the rocks are just low enough along the path to actually jump using level one evade and get to the other side. The companions won't follow, but it is entirely walk-able. It gets a bit rough out at the edges, but you can look out across the water at the rest of the Storm coast where you play at the beginning. Plus, the mount is really useful in the sticky areas.

Found another secret (and ridiculously hard to get into...) room in the Winter Palace (Trespasser DLC).

This one is laid out like the entrance to Royal Wing, with the addition of a large meeting table with maps and loot.

Yeah, it certainly looks like the makings of a War Table. I wonder if the position of the pieces on the Ferelden map had any significance...

I also noticed that normally gold pattern on the table looks like it had been burned off... Not saying it has any significance, but thought it was just a bit odd.

Could it be the room where the Inquisitor talks with his/her advisers in Trespasser? I remember a map on a table during that time, like the war room, but we couldn't interact with it.

If you mean the room they meet in at the very end, that was definitely a different room. If it was during another one of their group talks... hmm, I'll have to go through some video to find out.

EDIT: Yep - good eye! It looks like that is the room you meet your advisors in during the game (before the ending).
