Good eye with the statue! I never made that connection... :)

I've explored the OOB area around Suledin Keep pretty extensively, though I have this feeling I'm still missing... something.

I found out that when glitching the Emprise location, it's possible to miss roughly 2/3 of what's out there. This may be old news to some, but I figured out that the map was placed diagonally so that the glitchable areas are the 'points' of the diamond so to speak. There are four of these points and they don't necessarily lead one to another very easily. What's out there is huge though. The playable part of Emprise is embedded in the center of land that is easily 3 or 4 times its size.

All of the Dales locations used this diamond pattern. Emerald Graves is a whole lot bigger than just the one part everyone is glitching in the videos. I actually made my way down to the floor behind the dragon's lair, and there are ruins half way across. Unfortunately, as cool as this part is, it is mostly vapor and you fall through the map just as you get to some tantalizing bits. Why is some solid and other parts not? Same thing with Western Approach. I found out that my ideas of getting across the huge gorges was impossible because I keep falling through the map. Is there any way to 'no clip' over it, like in Skyrim?

The Exalted plains are easily glitched and huge as well. The glitching has been (for me) one of the best parts of the entire game ! :)

Yeah, the suddenlynoground is definitely annoying. I remember the northern valley in the Emerald Graves being a veritable landmine of solid/no solid.

Unfortunately, there isn't a NoClip option in DAI. There are tools that allow you to detach the camera and roam around that way, but (of course) you can't interact with things.

Okay, here's a quick tour of the 3 cliff dwelling areas...
(nothing a pick-axe, a broom and thousand years couldn't fix... ;) )

Thanks! Is it just me, or did that one set of lights (at ~ 2:55) look like they were powered by red lyrium instead of lava?

I don't know about that. I think the dwarves moved out because the place was such a dump! ;)

Excellent guided tour, loved every minute of it. Flycam exploration isn't as good, since some areas don't load if your toon isn't actually there.

NEW REQUEST: There are a bunch of Warden castles out in the burning wastes of the Western Approach. There's at least one tower and one castle about half the size of Griffin Wing Keep. Can you get to those places safely? I've done FlyCam tours, but see above.

But the FlyCam can clip through walls without trouble IIRC, right? That can be very handy to have a peek inside the really sealed off areas.

Yeah, the Western Approach is definitely one of the most fun to run around OOB in.  ;)

I remember the keeps being the first places I explored when I got the trainer because that big fortress off in the distance was annoyingly unreachable with it's moat of NINJA-NO-GROUND around it.  <_<

(That's why you see me jump-fall-fly there well before I reach it...)

Is that the bedroom from the Blackwall romance scene?

And how is there light shining in the windows of that first pic when it's dark outside?

I never romanced Blackwall before, but... yeah, it must be. Good eye! :)

And as far as the light goes... um... magic windows?

So cool!!

Why would the devs leave all that hanging out there?!?! Why? Is it intentional?

Thanks for posting all this really cool stuff. Makes me wonder how big DAI would have been if they had it for another year!

Also, have you been down the hole in the Western Approach where the Wardens discovered a Arch-Demon? That location has fascinated me for a long time? (If you have already posted this, sorry I must have missed it)

OOoooKkkkkkk!  So MP took me on a wee trip tonite,

So when I cleared Stage 4/5 and opened the door to get to 5/5, this is what I saw:

Spoiler

So of course I had to go in! As soon as I stepped in the door behind me disappeared.

After a long time in this whatever place that is, I morphed into a what I can only describe as an old growth forest with tons of pine trees. Reminded me of the Rockies, oh and it was snowing heavily. I walked some more and was transported into a dessert that reminded me of the Western Approach. Then after walking through that I was morphed into a very, very weird place that was a mix of the fade and the crossroads. Then I popped back into an Elven Temple after some more time. (I have some video of the end, which I can post if anyone is interested). Now keep on mind I STARTED off in some Tevinter ruins not the Elven Temple .  Eluvian perhaps? XD

I've thought about messing around with MP. Just a dumb question: Can I play it single player just to get those weird areas?

@Hrungr -  In the Western Approach, are you able to get to the edge of the map at all by the long jumping? Just curious. Thanks.

If you're talking about MP Narnia, then no.*

MP Narnia mostly happens if you have either a bad internet connection, or just a bad connection to the host. (or a bad connection to the DA Servers, cause I also had it happen when I hosted a game myself and I have a High Dragon Speed internet connection)

The game basically only loads halfway. You get a ground, but no environment (no houses etc) and invisble enemies.

Spoiler

*you can trick around a little with it. basically you make the game load only halfway.

Thanks for clearing that up before I got annoyed trying it :)

There are times even the game itself acts like this, like when you 'accidentally' get too close to invisible walls. In Emerald Graves, I can get my horse up on some of the boundary rocks and all of a sudden the whole area blinks out of existence and I can see all the plains straight across to the mountains. Every so often, I get a Skyrim style launch to a different location by way of the sky. Weird stuff. But fun!

True, but what good is that if the textures and objects don't load? If I get too far from my character's toon, everything looks like this from the inside with FlyCam:

THANK YOU! Another bucket list item checked off. So much work for something you only see from a great distance, and then not even that, with all the smoke and darkspawn bad-breath and stuff.

NEW REQUEST: Emprise du Lion, the entire south east. Downriver of the Elfsblood, after the broken bridge. Some tantalizing structures up on the cliff overlooking the river.

Didn't they say the game was originally going to be twice the size we got? There are plenty of OOB areas where you can see they were working on the landscape, then abandoned it. In Emprise you can see rectangular areas that were carved out of the landscape that were meant to have buildings at some point.

And regarding the WA, do you mean the rift or is there another hole to explore? I haven't posted the rift yet - I hop on down there tonight (spoiler: it's dusty)... ;)

Yes, you can go right to the edge of the map, no problem. You can also fly right up into the stratosphere for a quasi-satellite view.

If there's a place "out there" you'd like to see some video on - just let me know!

Ah... yeah, I can see range can be a wee bit of an issue for the FlyCam.

And I'll check out Emprise as well when I get home tonight from (craaaazy friiiiidaaaay) work. :)

Also... I might have found the room they meet in at the very end of Trespasser. Tricky getting in though...

My guess is it's the mining shaft that the dragon came out of, just a little southeast of Nazaire's Pass Camp.

Well, to cover my bases... I made videos of both. ;)

Unfortunately, no sweet loot... :(

And here is a jaunt to the bottom of the Abyssal Rift and later, flying up for a birds-eye view of the Approach.

Which platform are you on? If you're on a PC and can find the LinGon trainer, you can use the super-jump feature to get out of Skyhold. If you're on a console, I don't know of a reliable way, but maybe someone here might know...
