This is driving me crazy... I saw something where an earlier design document had the player control Solas (play as Solas) in Trespasser, as he tried to get to Mythal.
WHERE DID I SEE THAT? AAAHHH!!!

As he tried to get to Mythal? The same Mythal he supposedly met at the end of the base game?
Or are we talking like a dream sequence where he tried to get to her before she died?
Also are you sure this was backed up by game documents/evidence and not just a internet rumor? It seems pretty out of character for Bioware to allow someone to play as anyone other than the PC and then get away from the current dragon age setting to where they basically have to force the player to look at another character's POV.

Yes same Mythal.
It is out of character but I'm sure writers have daring rough drafts which inevitably are neutered by execs in later revisions.

Gotta say it sounds pretty far fetched to me. Very far fetched. I don't really believe it myself. But I'll bite for now.
Do you know what else was apparently in this 'rough draft' other than "he was chasing Mythal"? Like was in the Fade or was he just chasing her through the eluvians (in case that was what she put through int he last scene)? Or if it was during the events of Trespasser or just after it? Or before it?
Well I remember hearing cut dialogue with Morrigan being there during the final scene between Solas and Mythal , and screaming "Mother?!?,What have you done!!!"
Thing is I can't find it anywhere anymore.
Sometimes I simply wonder if I dreamt that and my memory is playing trick on me.

Patrick Weekes, Mike Laidlaw and David Gaider have mentioned in various interviews that the ending went through several iterations, including one where the Inquisitor was there, and one where Morrigan was present, I don't have any links at the moment, but if you dig through youtube and twitter you should be able to find it. Also, the bit where Cassandra was reading Varric's book in Trespasser, was, according to Mike Laidlaw, originally going to be at the end of the base game, but they cut it because it didn't end it with the right feeling. They later put it over the credits in Trespasser.

What...that sounds like...Flemeth overrode SolasWell I remember hearing cut dialogue with Morrigan being there during the final scene between Solas and Mythal , and screaming "Mother?!?,What have you done!!!"

Nah sounded like Morrigan was distressed seeing her mother get killed.
But it might be I'm going senile and it was all in my head , so don't take my word on that.
He'd be PC the whole DLC

Well, that was what I thought was happening in that scene before I did Trespasser. Even now I wouldn't rule it out.
I haven't seen anything about the design document you mention but it sounds extremely interesting.
Oh man that'd be awful.
Yeah... I really can't emphasize enough how much I would have disliked this.
I'd have played it, though I understand why others wouldn't have liked it. I never saw the point in playing as an NPC rather than my own character. Removes the entire reason I play these games.
I've never heard anything about this being the case though...
I thought this was just one of the possible endings they toyed around with in DA:I. I remember an interview with Gaider, I believe, which mentioned they weren't sure how Solas would leave (whether before the party or after the party and jaunting with the Inquisitor through some Eluvians), and they toyed around with who was there to witness Solas killing Mythal (The Inquisitor, Morrigan, or the disembodied Player). They also played around with what we as the player did in this scene (asking questions or a cinematic experience). But then they settled with the DA:I ending cinnematic cliffhanger and putting the game aspect into Trespasser.
He did say that the storyline was originally twice as long and I'm pretty sure the search for Solas that appears in the DLC was originally meant to be part of the main game. I know one of the reviewers suggested that doing that cliff hanger reveal at the end of the main game rather ruined the suspense of the DLC because you knew who Solas was (as a player) all along and it was really just a case of your character catching up.
So if they had left out the cinematic scene where the Solas meets up with Mythal as shown in the main game, I suppose there could have been a different scene where you arrive there as your character, or alternatively are aware of what happens either through your connection to Mythal through the Well of Sorrows, or Morrigan's reaction due to the same. That would fit with the "Mother, what have you done?" dialogue.
I must admit I don't really like these scenes where you are looking in like a 3rd party, so you are aware of events but your character isn't. After all at present the PC knows the identity of Solas but not what occurred between Solas and Mythal. It seems odd to me that the drinker of the Well of Sorrows, whether PC or Morrigan, wouldn't be made aware of something occurring by the spirits from the Well; surely if they are tied to the will of Mythal, they would sense if something had happened to change the nature of that connection?

Hmmm, in an interview with....hmmm... David Gaider, I think.... he said that we were supposed to control Solas before the Epilogue scene, not in the Trespasser.

Hmmm, I think I would be ok if this was part of how the next PC matches Solas' new powers.
Flemeth willingly allowed herself to be "absorbed" so she could sabotage him from the inside.
Controlling Solas in the after the credits scene would definitely had been mysterious, but I liked the cliffhanger, easter-eggy feel to it.
I thought this was going to be a ME3 reference: Control Solas, destroy Solas, merge with Solas.
and more ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I'm committed to contributing a creep solasmancer comment wherever and whenever possible.

Well now I hope they release a extended cut DLC or something. I want to see what else could have been in the base game.
