If your expectations are low, you will not be disappointed ![]()
But I do want an endless horde mode. Maybe where you can extract every 5 waves or sth.
Otherwise, if it is anything like ME3 MP, I'll be happy.
So my expectations are not really low, so we'll see.
ME3 and DAI type system. Which is boring and stupid. I also hate multiplayer in a single player game. Just make an mmo and leave me out of it.

Yeah, that is one of the mentioned four. But SP insanity is only MP silver - so it might be boring for the majority of players. For the minorities - you have to cater for small non-connected pockets of SP'ers that each have their separate fandoms (hair, facial characteristics, non-mainstream romances, afraid of kids, always complaining about endings etc.) but are extremely vocal about it to compensate for their small size.Drop-in batles into SPer campaigns for some emergent gameplay. This should make for a real insanity challenge. Saves on dev time and budget for AI programming, too.

What could maybe work - to drop into a SP campaign but as alien, in a final wave , as single mook equiped only with a leatherman and slingshot.
Trouble is- a single MP'er will probably overrun a SP squad of four. So you'll have to pitch at least 10x SP per one multiplayer, to have it fair- because they won't have that pause wheel anymore. Even if they have the pause button control on their side it will be too frustrating for single squad too constantly loose. This major difference in skill in the playerbase, is really a tough cookie to mix
So true. I feel like a dirty little SP scrub for thinking that Insanity was hard in ME3. Now I'm on Platinum in MP...times have sure changed.
I agree with your second idea, I always loved the idea of going into someones SP game unexpectedly and laying the smack down. Similar to Dark Souls I see, but that would make MANY SPers mad. You have to remember my dear Fuenf, this is a BioWare game. Many people play it for the romances alone. Which makes the MPers more eager, but the SPers not.

Balance it on the go, then. And if there isn't enough skilled material organize events where SP and MP can earn unique stuff.
And the pause wheel? Do away with it in the highest difficulty so people can experience what the true gameplay is like. The drop-ins should not be with fully kitted MP characters of course - I envision it like Versus Mode in L4D.

Who needs virtual romance when they can romance you and me instead? Tie in MP and SP and see how the romance threads will gradually switch to real love stories.

But how to balance it? Remember the SP'ers are by definition a disorganized lot, no experience with coordinating of changing dynamics and most likely not capable in dealing with soft skills- thats why they avoid uncertainty and live interaction where possible.
So it has to be multiples, but it's likely that even with multiplity, larger dynamics works again them based on their hardwired weaknesses.
I used to be like that, too, before I hit MP in ME3. Hogging all the cover. Using the shift key. Thinking I'd never be able to play MP gold.
People adapt and they are quite good at it.
Don't you think it will be too difficult for them?Who needs virtual romance when they can romance you and me instead? Tie in MP and SP and see how the romance threads will gradually switch to real love stories.

This, I like. I'd love to drop into a Sp only players lobby and then go chasing the poor souls through the game, a la dark souls. Just imagine someone midway through a romance, when I bust through the wall as a krogan with a claymoar in hand, laughing manically. Here's Johnny!

Gee, I was thinking about "The Shining" just this morning!
Are you guy's really that desperate to be hit upon? Making lonely person ads in threads on the BSN?

I imagine it's probably like this, if a good Mp player ever gets to wade into a squad of Sp chums.

That ship has sailed years ago. At the start of the game when you see the large friendly button that says 'multiplayer' don't push it and you shall never be exposed to the horrors of mp. However since you have declared ME3 and DAIMP boring and stupid you must have tried both of them out. Don't put yourself through such agony! Don;t press the multiplayer button!

We're not that bad in the MP lands.
We just might lock you in the reactor.
Or explode a possessed abomination on your face.
Or kite a Banshee over to you so she sync kills you.
Or use you as cover against an Atlas rocket.
First of all, Mass Effect Andromeda needs an excelent Single Player Campaign. Multiplayer is disposable, yet it'd add a lot to the overall experience if it's good.
What I'm expecting?
The ability to completely ignore it.

I believe multiplayer is the main feature that saved the franchise.
Believe me I was hardcore on SP and story right from ME1 (and with BW's older games), but they have yet to demonstrate a great story in their modern titles - it could happen but a safe bet is that MEA won't have a good story, given the trend. I'm sure we'll all love the characters, but I have huge doubts on receiving a well thought out and original story.
As it progressed through ME2 and ME3 I cared less and less about the reapers and the universe as a whole - now I don't care much at all. Therefore multiplayer is the main attraction now for me when it comes to Mass Effect.
