Should i expect the same shitty offline single player experience in MEC and MEA?
Episodic?,online only?,separate saves for online and offline?,extra in-game SP content requiring internet?
Indie games look more enjoyable than ever lol, can't wait for TW3's Blood and Wine.
May GOG and CDPR protect us all.

It's EA game. EA = always online. The Cycle continues. That answer has been triggered by words "single player", "offline". I have no idea what this thread is about.

Okay, I'll give it a shot. It's wild guessing, and I'm kind of hung over:
The release will not be episodic in the way Telltale and some other companies have done it. It will have a release date for the main game (hopefully without day 1 DLC) and then the DLC will be released according to a schedule determined afterwards.
The game in disc form will almost certainly work offline. The game in digital form almost certainly will not.

if you want to play offline, just unplug the modem and try it. Single player episodic isn't clear to me? The two don't work together other than some stuff is valued in the offline game some times, game dependent. I don't play much/any online games tho...so....

Yup agreed I dodged a lot of bullets thanks to my visceral hate towards MP.
The moment I discovered that "The Division" was an MMO....removed from wishlist
The moment I learned "No Man Sky" is an online game.....removed from wishlist
The moment I saw Hitman as an episodic game with online save......removed from wishlist
The moment I knew Destiny was a MMO....removed from wishlist
and many many others
Damn I'm saving a lot of money. How BW will implement MP (meaning how me ignoring it will affect my SP campaign) is what will make me decide to either purchase the game or not. DAI was quite good in how MP was irrelevant to the game so I hope they will follow that road.
For the moment CDPR and Obsidian have free access to my banking account.

Yeah cuz everyone knows DRM/always online have nothing to do with the negative-mixed reviews of recent AAA games with butchered offline SP and is never an issue for customers. These threads really do keep getting dumber and dumber.

WHY DIDN'T YOU ACKNOWLEDGE ANYONE ELSE YOU SHIT.
I LEGITIMATELY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE EVEN SAYING AND THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS WRITE SOMETHING SEMI-SNARKY IN RESPONSE TO SOME OTHER SNARKY POST? GODDAMN.
Human communication is falling apart.

All of these dumb tactics and episodic crap is just more evidence and reason MP is the right way.
SP is all drama. Just put something out and focus on the MP Bioware.
You must have spammed this previous thread with your opinion; you'll have more company to rant with over there. Knock yourself out.

It's really idiotic to say that a dramatic RPG game shouldn't have drama.
It's really idiotic to say: "Why can't ME be just like all of my other shoot 'em up slayfest games?"
It's really idiotic to say: "I don't want anybody to play a full-featured ME:A SP game."
And it's really idiotic for me to respond to a MP-only maven, when they don't want to play in the same sandbox. I hope you are entirely dissatisfied with ME:A SP and MP, and find life elsewhere - you have lots of options to satiate your lust for shooting and never make a dialog choice or be exposed to some drama. And most importantly.... you'll be happier, and the rest of us will be too! Win-win.

I'd prefer to stay offline while playing SP.
I also believe that DRM is important to protect my expenditures, not just for protecting the SW company's property. My copy of the SW I paid for is a property for me too, and I want to be financially protected from SW pirates and thieves who want to freely use a copy that I paid for. It's a variant of ID theft, afaic.
Talented people 'are worthy of their wages' and protection for their intellectual properties/efforts. Even though I can use expensive Windows, Office, and other niche software completely off-line, I think specialty SW, including games, need a verification system that is easy to do. I'm completely in favor to have BW (or any game dev) have the opportunity to verify (on-line) that my copy of their SW is legit. I'll be d***ed if I'm going to buy a game that costs me over $100 USD, including DLCs, that gets ripped off and distributed freely to others.
I'd prefer that we have reduced on-line verification requirements. I don't like it that I have to log into Origin every time, in order to play 'my' SP game. There are times when I can't be online and want to play ME. I'd be okay with being off line to start/play any assignments, and verifying my game online before starting a major mission (though it would be a pain), that then let's me play off-line to finish the mission with saves that don't require me to re-verify the mission I have already started. I know this isn't a perfect solution. Is there any ideal SW verification system? The only one that has worked well for me in other instances is a USB 'key' device that I have plugged into my PC for the SW to run. So long as the USB key is replaceable if needed.
If I have to reinstall the game (because of needing to reinstall the OS, or replacing the boot HDD/SDD), I'd like to have an on-line check to verify my copy and make reinstalling all of it much easier to do for my PC. I think it's important to have some 'skin in the game', so to speak. By buying the game and having my copy verified from time to time, the game dev also has a clear responsibility to provide me with support for 4 years or so. Legit copy verification on-line is a problem; Do other game Devs have a better solution?
BTW - I don't work for a SW company; I'm not a shill for anyone. I'm just against being ripped off, even if it's my friends who want copies of my expensive stuff. I'm finicky this way (and I don't have a lot of friends. Lol)

"Own" it? You're just licensing it silly
Yes - I 'own' the license rights to play the game, not own the game, just as I do for several niche programs that I use in medical science research. In some cases I can sell my license as a used product to someone else. And, by owning a license, the SW dev has a responsibility to support it with updates and to me as an end user.
I'm not blinded by EULAs that protect the company's IP, set licensing terms, and limit their liability for the use of their SW. I would like a game SW EULA to have to explicitly state what the corp's responsibility is to the consumer (or original owner), such as length of support (5 years) and the responsibility to keep my game's SW compatible with the next OS upgrade within that same time frame, and provide a legitimate method for contacting the company with any issues. Several EULAs for some of my pro software apps state this very clearly.
For example: I was unable to install the Trilogy from the disk package I bought. BW support gave me a new key and I downloaded the Trilogy from Origin - easy process for me, and they told me over the phone to install Origin SW first (kinda late, but...). I later learned that my installation from disks would have worked had I installed Origin SW first; the SW disk package should have made this CLEAR; it didn't (no mention of it) and I had to search the forums and google keywords until I found a post that clarified the source of the problem. This should never have happened, and it's shameful that it did. Very frustrating for a new user experience to a franchise. BW should be sending e-mail notices to registered users regarding new information about installation and upgrade issues, instead of our having to find references to them by searching for threads that die, or by some stupid twitter/Facebook account announcements. Of course now, Origin will notify the need for a game SW update, which is nice way to do this.
It's your making a critical comment over SW 'ownership' that is silly. But at least you are learning, and that's always a good thing.

actually you own a 'copy' of the software and paid to use it via the license. You can sell the hard copy of the software and the permit to use it goes with it.
Some business software isn't so flexible. The more it costs usually the more draconian the permissions get.
I've purchased software on ebay that wouldn't install because the permits only work once. But the games were really mine. Technically they company that wouldn't permit the game to work were incorrect on their version of ownership. But as the little laws regarding such don't apply to poorly priced items.. like VG's. So if you just buy the permit, you can download the program. If you do that then you have a copy on that server with your "permit" number with a set download max. Some don't have a download max. MS lost four of my games but I still have the permit numbers that are pretty much useless, as games for windows isn't around anymore and steam didn't really "pick them up" as advertised.
