You all remember me (shut up, let me have my delusion). Used to play PS3 a lot. But I moved to PC a while back.

I did play on PC but I soloed most the time. I'm still using the PS3 controller, and it's a bit weird. Had to re-learn some skills, and I never felt as effective. So I only started actually Multiplayering recently. U/U/G pretty much all the time.

So, I have some questions for you PC players.

Is it like considered uncool to stay away from the LZ on extraction wave? I hardly ever see anyone take this common sense procedure. Everyone - newbies and people with extremely high N7 and CP points, all rush to the LZ and get massacred. Seriously, they're all down within 30 seconds and then I have to sole-survivor my way out of there.

Also, why do you guys never stick around? On PS3 you'd get a decent PUG (or a non-decent pug) and they'd stick around for 5+ matches. On PC I've hardly ever had anyone stay in the lobby past one match. This is regardless of how well it went. Or maybe one guy will stay for 2-3, but there's much quicker turnover.

Also, when they do stick around, people tend never to switch characters and seem weirded out that I do. I've been kicked from lobbies because I switched characters and apparently putting on equipment takes too long.

Also, why no talking? Yeah, on PS3 a lot of the people talking are obnoxious kids but still.

And lastly, say you have a really good session. Some guy joins your PUG, actually changes characters so their powers synergise with yours, actually acts like a team and all that. And after the game's done you go "That was fun, I should send them a friend request on Origin. What was that person's name again?" Is there actually no way to find the people you've recently played with???

Also, it's good to be back (:

I assume most people dip after a match because they're disappointed by my non-modded lobby, but I hardly know anymore.

I'm typical PC PUG so I think I can speak for us all.

We are quite big community, so there is no need to socialize, we just play and then leave the lobby. Personally I have no intention to invite anyone or, God forbid, to speak with anyone (I can't speak nor recognize English anyway).

Btw, I remember you, welcome back.

As a PC player, I do see too many players rushing the LZ:  but this is more true in bronze levels I think.  I don't really see high-point players going there, unless its too preserve the extraction for the whole group (you just get dragged into it).

Yup no-one seems to stick around much.  I wonder if its because many players usually just play with their buddies and leave to join them once they arrive.  The game has matured, and many players have their tight-knit groups.

As for kicking, I don't do it and most players I know don't do it.  Certainly not for changing equipment (although there limits!) or changing characters.  The games I play in, I expect regular character changes.  But the complicating factor is the new character is being built from scratch?

Kicking these days is for obvious cheats (keep your #$%# aimbot to yourself) and mods.  At least for me.

I don't why there so little talking on PC (I play on the Xbox too),  But it has always been that way...

I have the idea that a lot of MMOG on PCs have left a legacy of trolling and trashing.

Maybe the lack of talk is why PUGs break easily.

LOL for your comment on Origin Friends, I totally agree!

And welcome back

It's been like that since I started, the player base is so large there are no problems finding a new lobby very quickly again.

Using mics is rare but it happens now and then, some of my best moments in ME3 have been listening to complete beginners talking excitedly about the game.

Kicking does happen now and then, for me it's usually when showing up into random gold lobbies with a newly promoted kit using a uncommon or rare gun, and then it's usually by less experienced players with low CP numbers whom I presume are convinced that you can't beat gold unless you are lvl 20, yeah lolGold is so hard.....

Sup. PC player here, here's my 2 cents:

Your experience about people rushing to the LZ seems strange since I almost never see that except for recent arrivals to gold difficulty who clang to their silver habits. Usually at least one more guy takes up position away from the LZ, and the other 2 defending it notice they're in for more than they can handle and ditch the idea as well. Your experience seems more like an unlucky streak than the norm tbh.

Turn over has always been this way. Some teams stick together for hours, other break up after a single game. I haven't played on any other platform so I can't compare it to how it is for you console folk, but as far as I remember, on PC it's been this way since launch. More lobbies to chose from, like others have mentioned, may be one reason.

As for being kicked out of lobbies for taking too long to gear up and people rarely switching kits after games.. Again, sounds more like an unlucky streak because I haven't seen this happen often enough to take notice.

As for talking, shooting the **** with friends is standard procedure regardless of console methinks. Chatting with pugs also happens. It's rare but it happens. As for talking tactics with pugs, I gotta say I'm not too broken up about silence when it comes to tactical advice from people who aren't sure which end of the weapon bullets come out of. We had to deal with enough of those born strategists in the FBWGG and Box-of-Shame days on PC voice comms.

As for your last paragraph.. Yeah. You guys have us PC mustards beat in that regard. We can't see who we played with last which is a curse for people who are terrible with name such as myself. Also Origin, in its infinite wisdom, caps our friend list at an arbitrary 100 limit.  <_< I wish we had the social infrastructure consoles get.

Oh, and welcome back.  :)

1. Rushing to LZ on extraction has always been that way for newish players who: Dont know any better/Are out of medigel and hope if they get downed it will be there and get revived to get the final credits/Think they can beat off the tidal wave of enemies with 2 rockets for 2 mins

2. This could be MANY things: They need to bio, get a drink of water, snack or other RL prob. More Lag that they want to put up with whoever the Host is, LOLOrogin disconnect, They dont want to play with the same players

3. Playing same characters again?- probably are doing the 200 wave challenge thingy OR they just love that kit OR are trying to learn that kit

4.Talking has never been a big point since most that do are just obnoxious and does not inspire others to. However, with friends the opposite is normal, lots of chatter and laughing OR they use the in game chat thru console

5. Adding Friends to your List? Either remember the name or write it down for reference and click on bottom of your FL +Add A Friend and press enter to see what comes up

1 - Generally I see people steer clear of the LZ.  If someone camps it, I will let them know they've got 2 minutes to get there.  Sometimes they take the advice, sometimes they don't, I don't care either way.  It's amusing to watch them try and hold the LZ by themselves for those 2 minutes (though usually it's not nearly that long)

2 - I stick around as long as I don't have to solo Waves 3+.  But eventually I do need to take a break, and well if you just dropped in one or two games ago, it might seem like I don't stick around, but you don't know how many games I've played up until that point.  This can be simply a matter of perspective.

3 - I try to synergize with the team, unless it's one of those teams where I know just by looking that them that they are too dumb for that to happen, in which case I take one of the Salarians, the BatSol, or Justicar, as my preferred crutch kits.

4 - I would talk, but ME3MP hates my Logitech headset.  It works fine in every other game and application, but if I try to talk in ME3MP all you will hear is static.  So I installed the console to be able to text chat at people, but sometimes this does get me into trouble because I have to stand still while doing it.  At this point in the game's cycle, I don't want to spend the money on a brand new headset that may or may not work with it anyway.

5 - I hope you have a good memory.  Or you can check the top of this page and find some players on your platform.  You can add me if you like, Origin ID is in my sig.

Finally, I don't remember you per se, but I do remember your avatar.

I usually try to remember to have Shadowplay running.

Only have it set to record the last 3 mins.

But comes in handy for any interesting moments or names.

Yeah, it's much better to stay away from the LZ even in bronze and silver, because there's usually at least one, possibly two, spawn points near the LZ. Both of which are invariably concealed from the LZ due to intervening walls, piles of crates, or machinery. And the spawn points only trigger with a player nearby. Meanwhile, on the rest of the map, there are spawn points where with careful positioning, you can get direct lines of fire to where the enemies appear.

The worst of these landing zones is Rio, where there are three spawn points close to the LZ, all three of which are entirely obstructed from the LZ, and the LZ itself is physically lower than the rest of the map. The cover there is of less use because the enemies are always shooting into the LZ with a height advantage. And the cover is pretty much non-existent when the enemies are on the stairs or the bridge.

As for the 'one game and done' phenomenon, very often PC gamers are not doing this as part of a dedicated gaming session. They have half an hour or so, which is usually time to get one or maybe two games in, and then they're off to do something else.

Some of us can only stand multiplayer games for limited periods of time as well. Keeping track of other players positions, what's going on with the rest of the map, planning and placing powers for maximum effect, and watching for the times enemies spawn at alternate locations than expected, moving to fill in gaps or provide coverage, it's mentally exhausting.

hmm what i noticed is that half the time people don't even listen or talk back if you do try to talk or don't hear you so i stopped talking realy. I tend to stay with a group if i like the way people are working together but i suck to be honest so i hardly go beyond bronze *blush*. I tend to stay away from the lz as it is early enough if you are there around 20 seconds before extraction :).

I stayed on Bronze for months when I started.

In fact, I stuck with Bronze until I started feeling a bit embarrassed about it.

People will generally help if it looks like you're making an effort :)

I always stick to Gold now.

And I enjoy it.

Don't find it relaxing, but I enjoy it.

Except when it's lagging.

I don't mind hitting the deck if I make a stupid mistake.

I don't mind it if the AI makes a fool out of me.

But you can't fight the lag.

They're noobs, and you should eat them. Honestly, I don't get it either, when people do it, but I think you've had an unlucky patch with players there...most "experienced" players, even on PC, seem to stay away from the LZ most of the time.

Also, why do you guys never stick around? On PS3 you'd get a decent PUG (or a non-decent pug) and they'd stick around for 5+ matches. Eh, couldn't really say there. Sometimes I leave because I've only dropped in for a single game.

Social engagements are scary.

And lastly, say you have a really good session. Some guy joins your PUG, actually changes characters so their powers synergise with yours, actually acts like a team and all that. Yup. Though if you're using a graphics card with a built in recording/screenshot capability, it's not too hard to run it when the scores come up and grab people's names for later on.

I always stay away from the LZ until it's time to extract. The PC players who don't are just a bunch of casual plebs and need to git gud. Kappa

It's a lot easier to switch gears and go do something else on a PC than it is on a console. I'll often only play a game or two on PC before looking up some dank memes, checking BSN, booting up a different game, etc. When I deign to associate with the console peasants, I play for longer sessions and I'm less likely to leave.

Also, when they do stick around, people tend never to switch characters and seem weirded out that I do. I've been kicked from lobbies because I switched characters and apparently putting on equipment takes too long.

I think it's because people want to get the game going as fast as possible, and as such, they expect other players to join all ready to go. I try to avoid changing my character's weapons or powers after I've entered a lobby. The glorious PC gaming master race has no time for such things. Though I do set up my equipment while in the Lobby.

Also, why no talking? Yeah, on PS3 a lot of the people talking are obnoxious kids but still.

The glorious PC gaming master race has grown accustomed to having text chat in games, so we're less likely to talk on the mic.
