Well if you think that if suddenly the next Dragon Age would be announced as set in a different world that Thedas and no one would care you are sorely mistaken.

People love their fictional worlds.

There is no space travel in Dragon Age, so moving to another planet is not the equivilent of moving to another galaxy in Mass Effect.

Well, in that universe "another world" doesn't need to be another planet. Might just be another continent (they called America "the new world" as well, back in the day).

Ultimately, the important thing is that it's another "game world", I guess that's what katamuro meant as well. I am sure if that happened in the DA universe, there would be complaints as well.

Actually, within the terms of that universe, this would be the equivalent of a Dragon Age game taking place on an entirely different continent (which is a prospect I'd actually find rather attractive).

Specially since they have confirmed there are other continents. I think the whole map we've seen would be equivalent of South America, so, we wouldn't even have to switch continents to get outside the map.

With that said, and sorry for the OT, the rest of TheDAS must be really, really boring, seeing as all the important, world changing stuff is in that part of that continent.

On the contrary. Many Dragon Age players would love to have a game set on other continents of Thedas. There have been countless threads about it. There's huge interest in going to where the Qunari come from and being immersed in that culture and lore.

Only from the perspective of Thedas because that's all they know. It's like ancient Europe thinking all the important things were happening in Europe, when in fact there were many things happening in the rest of the world.

Use your intellect and find out.

"You will pay the price for your lack of vision." (cit.)

"Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if one blind person guides another, both will fall into a pit." (cit.)

I know everything I need to know, but I won't explain it to mentally armored people because it would be a loss of my time.

A - It's partially true, and if history and common sense have taught me well, a partial truth is a complete lie.
B - It might be true or not, but it's so unusual when supposedly done by Fartware
C - Get a grip, take a deep breath and evaluate. This is the real deal, they've failed to continue with intellectual honesty and they're offering you a convenient excuse to buy a product.

Sadly the donkeys here didn't understand, but in truth I tell you I don't care at all if the game is set in Andromeda or in Duckberg, what displeases me is the crookedness they behaved with to come to this decision.

Ok, so you've got nothing.

Good to know.

Never said otherwise but you can bet there would be complaining, too.

By the way (and a bit off topic), is the planet called Thedas? I always thought the continent was called Thedas.

You presume things your feeble mind can't handle.

Go keep company to your comrade Martini.

It's money dude, it's money. You'll be paying for it, it's not free you know.

Your comment doesn't make sense, I was answering to the user that told that "nobody cares that much" about the crookedness put in this game, by saying that those should care very much because it's not going to come free and you're spitting cash if you want to play it.

OK - I'll put in £40 worth of giving a damn then... offset by the potential that it could be many hours of entertainment and weighed against the "cost of going to the cinema" scale:

damn

There you go - not even enough for my jimmies to be even lightly creased, let alone rustled.

Personally I'm quite excited at the prospect of exploring the frontier of new galaxy! Especially our sister galaxy, Andromeda has always been a fascination of mine.

Sure I will be left wondering what the other races are doing and I have no idea how they are going to work our choices from the ME trilogy into the new game. Likely skirting over it abit, but I'm surprisingly alright with that. I can head canon stuff if they leave enough blank spaces. Plus, i'm one of those people that is content with the end of sheps story. I'm not upset that I wont be playing that character again and would be happy not to see him make a re-appearnce.

I like a story being wrapped up and not dragged out for the sake of it.

I do hope that it's not too similar to DA:I, it was a good enough game but and I know there are people who will disagree with this, but I felt DA:I was alittle bit soulless. It was trying to be too many things to too many people, to such and extent that it came across abit sterile. Please don't take this as a denouncement. It's just a personal opinion based on my own experience of the game. I have no doubt that other people saw it differently.

At the very least the new setting gives the developers the chance to don their visors of creativity and do something new and invigorating without being held back by previous design choices, particularly in regards to the story and world state post trilogy.

That can only be a good thing.

More like a poor attempt to cover shortfalls caused by developer incompetence. :)

Well people weren't going to be satisfied unless they got a new ending anyways. They still haven't gotten what they wanted. That's what most of the noise is about.

I don't think you should get a new ending, if that's what you think of the people who worked on this game.

Good prospect, yes.  Same and limited combat spells, no!
