I think that will be something from the CC, in DAI you could get close to NPCs, in ME1-3 you never got anything as good looking as the pre-rendered faces.

Anyway, we got a 2 minute trailer with a female protagonist. The MEA board will be even worse than it was...

But the graphics look nice, the scenery gorgeous, and I'm happy they're making many worlds with more vibrant flora, I was worried they'd go with more desolate worlds.

A few things (under a tag, because photos)

Spoiler

In conclusion - hype, but just a little, because it's still 9 months away.

Isn't the iconic character a marketing thing? You could still customize your own Shepard and Hawke regardless of the default appearance.

Yes, but DAO and DAI didn't really have iconiq characters unlike DA2 and ME1-3. It's possible that our protagonist will look way different from this girl in next trailer. Or she could be iconiq and be used in all marketing trailers etc- or used together with iconiq male character.

You couldn't touch the default face - it was a pre-made texture (Hawke was locked, but it was something from the CC, aside from the beard, which was custom for him). You could clearly see the difference between Sheploo (the face rendered after Mark Vanderloo) and something you made yourself. The skin especially was far more detailed than what you could get. But it seemed to me be a limitation of the engine, DAI didn't have that problem.

If that is Ms. Ryder, she looks a little like Sera to me.  Which is interesting.  I don't hate it.  I was kind of hoping for a tough as nails Vasquez from Aliens type of Ryder, but she's at least interesting looking.

Am i the only one that is slightly dissapointed? I was hoping for atleast 5 minutes and maybe some gameplay, or atleast some of the new exploration elements. It felt like last year, and that is not a good thing. Game is out early next year, where is the gameplay? Hoping Gamescom and N7 day will produce something new and exciting. The female character looks good though, and a ponytail, yay.

FemRyder might be MEA's Sera, but that asari from the trailer? Definitely the new Cassandra. I've seen people complain in several threads how SJWs won and that she looks like a man with facial hair and oh FFS not again.

It wasn't much, but the game is 9 months away (plus any last minute delay that could happen). I get the disappointment, the tweets/hype machine made it out to be way more, but the levels of salt in the MEA board are just unhealthy.

I don't understand how people think she even looks masculine. I think she looks quite young- mischievous and cute. I see her as Sera of ME:A personally rather than protagonist. But masculine? I don't get it.

Dishonored 2 looks quite Interesting, unique playstyle for Emily, and Corvo. Both are voice acted this time around and the story plays out differently based on which character you choose, I approve. Also they showed a lot of gameplay at the Bethesda conference and it looked fracking amazing.

Dishonored 2 looks awesome, after this semester is over I have to replay the first one. And I've never played Prey, but I'm interested after that trailer.

Also, seeing Skyrim in 2016 was pretty surprising

I'm looking forward to the Skyrim remaster, actually, particularly since I'll be getting it for free. I've found that a lot of the giant texture packs aren't wholly complete, so you need to supplement. But different authors have different standards and aesthetics, and some textures may overlap. I've found messing with environment textures to be rather frustrating. So with this remaster I'm hoping that I'll just be able to stick with my CC mods, some quality of life mods (SKYUI, etc), and armor and weapon mods while happily using the default, improved environment textures.

I think Bioware realy needs to learn how to do a good marketing. It's that bad. But then, I'm not disappointed, this is exactly what I expected. I'm fine with what we got, because I already knew that what was going to be shown would be hardly interesting compared to the promises made by the devs. Honestly, the first warning already came with the N7 day. I'm surprised that people had so high expectations wth the marketting. I have no doubts that the game will be good though.

So.. apparently we did get trailer that showed female protagonist. I'm pretty sure that this is "Ryder":

tumblr_o8oebrThws1svktoco2_1280.png

I wonder if she's like John Shepard/Marian Hawke- a default face for female protagonist or is she just possibility on how character could look with CC.

How unimaginative. I hope it's not the fem/ryder. She looks like Lara Croft. She is forgettable, and she will be easily forgotten. So Rise of Tomb Raider was popular, we had to get a female protagonist that looks close to a popular protagonist from another franchise ?  She has just a good ponytail and her face has nothing iconic. Don't like her face, nothing stands out, but then the first maleshep we saw with M1 for the demo was absolutely generic, before they use something with Shelpoo, so wait and see.

I admit that I am relieved with the graphics, but at the same time, I think that should have been expected.

I don't understand how people think she even looks masculine. I think she looks quite young- mischievous and cute. I see her as Sera of ME:A personally rather than protagonist. But masculine? I don't get it.

They are right. She isn't attractive to me. And to be honest, she looks quite masculine. ( at the first glance ) If I didn't know that Asari are all female, i might have thought for a few seconds that it was male. I had some hesitation for one-two seconds. The fact that it happened in my mind, and that a lot of male players from what I read seem to think that she looks masculine, is quite telling me that I might not have been totally mistaken and wrong in my reaction before the trailer. There is no doubts to me that her face is quite androgyneous even if I could see a female. Like I said, it's only the first glance for a few seconds, and we should wait to see more.

Her design is interesting though.

Also, I'm quite tired of this oh she looks realistic argument that I see on the forum, it's way too overused. I find it insulting for women. As if they all looked very average or bad in real life except in porn or among the celebrities. I don't know how it is where people live, but where I live plenty of women, from 18 to 45 are really hot and good looking. I just have to walk on the streets or go at the mall to see plenty of them. Everyday, with my customers where I work, I see pretty girls. They are not all ugly or very average. It can be realistic to have hot women too.

I don't think that a female character has necessarily to look average or ugly, to be taken as " realistic " . I'd keep the current design, it doesn't bother me, but stop with the " she looks realistic at least, not like a barbie doll because she isn't that pretty. "

I'm wondering how deep will the changes go and how many mods will be broken. Either way, this is good news, I've also had problems with getting something good looking that feels consistent.

I don't quite understand. She looks someone like Sera- easygoing trickster especially with expressions. We don't even know if she's companion at this point and even if she is and ends up being LI, I'd urge to wait until meeting her in the game- before DAI people kept saying how Solas looks like Voldemort, but he's one of most liked LIs.

The two things that stuck out for me with the asari were (1) that she seemed really young, and (2) DAI lip shine is back!

Despite my badges, I have yet to play the ME games (I've just started ME), so I didn't know that asari were all female and I certainly got the female vibe from her.

It's difficult to tell with that one short clip of the (supposedly) protagonist, but I thought the BioHair looked pretty good! Maybe DA will get a similar ponytail one of these days...

Maybe she will be a Dagna-type; an expert of some sort.

You misunderstand me. I'm not concerned about how she will look into the game, I'm not concerned about romances. I'm not at all concerned if she is going to be an Li.

I'm just judging what i'm seeing on this trailer. You claimed that you didn't uunderstand how people could see her as masculine, i gave you my opinion that I could relatively feel the same about what I've seen during those seconds. I wasn't certain it was female for one-two seconds. She is female, but her face is a bit androgyneous.

To be honest, I like her design. But, if we have to speak about attractiveness, then,  I'm not ashamed to admit that I don't think she is attractive. The first time that I think such thing about an Asari lol.

As for your Solas example, don't worry, I totally agree. Attractiveness has never been what draw me to a female character. I found Liara more attractive than Ashley Williams in M1, I didn't hesitate to choose the human. Personality > attractiveness for me.

Haha don't remind me. I didn't touch the lip shine, when I created my guy, and couldn't understand, why they were so glossy. It didn't help that one of the patches made medium meshes super reflective, which meant shiny BioHair

Had to wait until the Emporium came out to fix it.

Spoiler

And many asari look young, because they live over 1000 years, so you meet many 100yo asari that act like adults, but are to their species merely young adults.

One advice - if you are a completionist, use maps for exploring planets. They are pretty bare, so traversing them wears you out fast.

I'm glad Clementine's back as the (dual) protagonist. She's all grown up! And since we're (kinda) on the topic of female characters' attractiveness I think she looks better here than she ever has. The upgraded engine seems a big improvement.

Hmm, I guess I didn't understand how her preserved masculinity is connected to her being unattractive. It's two different things for me. But still I have to disagree on the masculinity, if I think masculine woman I won't think someone young and cute looking ^^;

As much as I'm happy about TWD, I'm sad that the Wolf Among Us is still MIA. And I'm not a fan of the episodic format, so I'm waiting 'till S3 is finished before I pick it up.

Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us are my two favorite Telltale games and the two least likely to get a S2. :(

Also that reminds me I should check out Michonne's mini-series now that all 3 episodes are out.

And with GoT, Batman, Minecraft, and now the S3 of TWD, there's little chance we'll be seeing them  :(

! Forgot about that, I'll be buying that too.

She does look realistic, whether she is unattractive is open to discussion but the opinions of some men on the internet can't be applied as universal rules. When you're making an unrealistic character you don't make someone beautiful you create the impression of beauty and people fill in the blanks with their mind, it's why cartoon women are so attractive. When you accurately try to recreate a woman you can either give her a heart shaped face and a cute nose or put up with people debating how attractive she is.

And all those women you find attractive don't get judged by you taking a random close up picture of their face and scrutinizing it for five minutes, you see all of them in person.

I am a bit dissapointed with Fallout 4, according to Todd Howard Nuka World is the last DLC for the game. Kinda feel like they are moving on from it way to fast. Skyrim had over a years support when it launched and got two very solid expansions. Atleast we'll have the Skyrim remaster in the fall, looking forward to that. Like the free upgrade if you already own the PC version with DLC.
