For anyone, who doesn't want to dig through the MEA section, here is a post collecting all of the Andromeda information from various interviews and tweets.

They went further than I thought and actually brought in people from the NFS team. With all this talk about exploration this is fantastic news.

And some important news for PC players:

"PC requirements will be similar to those for Dragon Age: Inquisition and Star Wars: Battlefront."

I'm cautious about VR but a VR X-wing game seems like a pretty good idea.

I'm super excited that TWD Season 3 is coming this fall.  Although I'm so nervous for Clem.  I'm really way too invested in her and the more seasons that she's in, the more likely that she'll die.  I want to imagine that she's happily fortified away and raising little AJ on her own.  I don't need her back out in the fray where she's going to give me agita!

Heh, my first thought when I watched the trailer was 'do I want to watch Clem suffer even more?' It'll probably be several episodes of feeling like I've been punched in the gut... but I doubt I'll be able to stay away.

I'm excited about TWD Season 3, but is it too much to hope for The Wolf Among Us Season 2?

Now I feel obligated to post Bigby's infamous pole-dancing glitch.

I'm glad Clementine's back as the (dual) protagonist. She's all grown up! And since we're (kinda) on the topic of female characters' attractiveness I think she looks better here than she ever has. The upgraded engine seems a big improvement.

Awesome. Hope to bump into Jane again or Molly down the line.

Want to see another season of TWAU too, also TFTBL and GoT. Here Telltale take my money, I didn't want it anyway.

Damn man, you're patient.

I pretty much bought them as soon as they were released. Still waiting for a price drop on Fo4's Far Harbour, gonna be awhile.

I also picked up the Witcher 3 today, haven't played any in the series, I'm gonna be very very confused.

Grats! Lemme know if you have questions about mods, if you're going to use them, or have a mod request. I'm not some miracle coder or anything, but I can do certain things, custom shops, change weapon/armor appearance, and such.

(That's for everyone in the group, as well FYI.)

OH and be sure to read the DAwiki entry on the Trials system that got added with Trespasser; they're great and can be useful for things like keeping content challenging, or just ensuring that you don't outlevel the maps.

DLCs are crazy expensive here. If I wanted to buy them earlier, the main ones would be 2x the price of base game at launch. Instead of only GOTY editions they should also do DLC packs. I have basically 2 copies of Inquisition now :P

I recommend starting from the Witcher 2. The first one had only one awesome moment, when it dived into more traditional (slavic) culture and had a great quest with Noon/Nightwraiths, but the game did not age that well. They did it on an updated version of the NWN engine, and it ended up being frustrating at times. But 2 is pretty polished and you'll probably get far more from the story, if you play it. Can get it pretty cheap too.

Thanks! I'm guessing the DAITools and the Nexus are still the way to go? I'll definitely be getting your Skyhold outfit mod. When I saw it, I was surprised that they didn't do it like that in the game. It actually looks pretty now!

Huh I did not know about that system, thanks for the link!

I'll be going all out with mods, when I finally buy a new laptop and can go higher than everything low and 720p :P I can't get the benefits of most of the graphical mods right now anyway

So I just realized that the upcoming months are looking pretty good for me regarding new games after a long slow period.  I think that the last new game that I bought was Fallout4.

This fall, I've got:

  • XCOM 2 <squee>
  • TWD Season 3
  • Friday the 13th
  • The Dwarves

Then I've got ME:A right behind them in the beginning of 2017.  I haven't been excited about gaming for a while, so this is nice.

On a tangent - does anyone know anything about "The Technomancer"?  It's done by the same studio that did Bound by Flame.  Looks like an action RPG with customizable PC and multiple companions with whom you build relationship that will shape the game.  Takes place on Mars.  Sounds promising!

I already have Soma, Layers of Fear, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Adrift, the Witness, and more on my backlog. With all that's coming out, I'll never catch up  :P

I've just started on Mirror's Edge: Catalyst and the core gameplay is fantastic. Simple, fast, tight. Story is more engaging than the first one so far though I've only scratched the surface.

A little. I have the previous game in the series Mars: War Logs (not sure if it's a direct sequel, reboot or Mad Max continuity). It was pretty rough and I didn't get far with it. The developer seems to have been heavily influenced by The Witcher 2, as it has a similar gameplay and structure.

It didn't hold me and I skipped Bound by Flame. Though it depends a lot on what you want from a game obviously.

Okay, I just don't like Witcher 3 combat. Thank goodness I never tried the earlier games, because if they're actually worse than this like everyone says, I'd probably have become too frustrated to play during just the prologue. This is clunky, repetitive, and I personally do not enjoy the kind of gameplay where they aspire toward depicting the realistic degradation of tools and weapons, and it means I have to go through the task of keeping everything maintained as well as crafting new gear.

That's okay, it's not very good.

Degradation can be the basis of interesting mechanics, but not when it's just a matter of buying your way out. They've added an entire system without checking to see if it's actually interesting.

I found TW3's gameplay horribly frustrating. It's a good thing I was playing on PC because I was able to mod some of the biggest frustrations away. Like, being able to track only one quest at a time on the map. There are a bunch of systems that prioritize realism over gameplay (merchants having limited amount of money, craftsmen level and specialization, weight limit etc.) and the end result is just not fun.

I have only played first one and I don't really know any game with as annoying combat as it has ^^;

I've only played half of TW1, but I found that I was able to get into a routine with the combat. Then again, I also tend to play on easy modes, so...

I really can't stand the combat in ME1. I find it confusing and difficult, and it's one reason I haven't picked up the game again after trying and failing at a difficult encounter on the first planet you can explore.

I suppose part of my problem is that I'm SO used to the fantasy-style combat roles that these sci-fi ones are utterly confusing and I can't translate them in my mind.

It's not that it's a shooter, either, as I've played and enjoyed all three of the Bioshock games.

There are some places with those weird frog geth and they are a major pain in the butt, because they kill you in 2 shots. I wasn't doing so great either, many of those encounters I've done, while hiding in the Mako and shooting them from a distance. And when that failed, I just started running them over  those were not elegant solutions, I admit, but hey, I had 100% in ME1.

Anyone else hyped for South Park: The Fractured But Whole? I really liked the charm of The Stick of Truth and felt like it captured a lot of what I enjoyed about the series. The gameplay was also pretty fun even though every battle save for one was super easy.
