What is your definition of malicious? What matters the most isn't the actual deed but the way you carry yourself?

I'm curious.

Are you asking me?

Malice is just malice. Why does there have to be a personal definition? As for the other question, I think war and politics create lots of death, some of the time unwittingly. Would I call Obama a murderer because he orders drone strikes? No. Only an idealist would. And I'm not an idealist. Which is why I'm getting annoyed here. :P

Just to make sure: It is fine as long as you don't *openly* enjoy it and decorate the deed with pretty words.

Interesting.

How about you just quote me?

I don't need to explain myself any further. Especially on a forum dedicated to action games revolving around killing things. You're being a hypocrite. There's people who would condemn you too just for being here. There's always someone to trump your idealism and be even more self-righteous.

It's right there, in the distinction you made between Gaspard and Celene.

I'll try to explain again. But I don't want to be forced to defend Celene too much. Nor am I a big Anora fan. But I feel like I'm being put in that category. I'd rather not be.

Celene is flawed, but she also has a mind for various social reforms. That can be worked on easier imo. And her attack on elves were single events. Gaspard (or rather, the Chevaliers) has partook in more systematic injustices. It's in their very institutions to treat elves like crap. It's not some bad strategic or emotional decision on their part, but something that they've actually codified. They see a whole people as deserving of death, whenever they want. They also think it's their right to just rape when they want as well.

So if you do want to clearer definition of malice from me, it's this systematic violence vs losing your sh*t and not handling tensions well. Celene is the latter to me. Probably a lot of human nobles like this.. they may personally befriend elves, but can't handle it politically.

Last but not least, I want these things to change, but at the same time, I enjoy the drama and negative aspects of the setting. If they do change, I hope it's not too quickly... or drastic like Solas.

I will be starting the final version of my canon run in the near future, but there are many things I consider important that happen to be incompatible.

Here is the list:

- My Warden is to romance Morrigan.

- I don't want to perform the DR because having Morrigan learn to love normal!Kieran is far more meaningful.

- Alistair will remain a GW.

- Hawke will stay in the Fade as I don't want Alistair to die.

- I don't want two protagonist deaths in a row (Warden and Champion).

- I could use Loghain to have the Warden survive, but that ruins your friendship with Alistair.

- Headache imminent.

The only way this would work is if Alistair is king and you are no longer best buddies. Just have the mustache whatshisname die in the fade in Inquisition and there you go.

If Alistair is not king he will become a drunk. That's not good.

What's so bad about not being best friends with Alistair anymore? It's not like you are enemies. You still have a good ruler- Anora and a personal acquaintance for a king and that's always good.

Also Loghain has to die with the AD.

That's actually my canon warden.

I've always considered forcing Alistair to marry a woman that doesn't love him and accept a life he never wanted (king) the worst ending after the drunk one.

I could never have these endings where Alistair is drunk or dead. or unhappy. My canons are always too nice, if I'm too mean I reload and pretend I never did it lol

if you harden him he doesn't mind being a king anymore. + marrying a pretty woman that also is a capable ruler isn't the worst thing in the world for him.

The only negative thing is that you are not exactly friends anymore, but i am sure you will learn to live with it. B)

I suggest you read The Silent Grove, Those Who Speak and Until We Sleep (three parts of the same story).

"Hardened Alistair" is an illusion. These graphic novels take place nearly 10 years later and he still doesn't like being king.

And I remember his reaction to marrying Anora when you talk to him about it was "I'm gonna need a drink... or ten".

I thought he would get used to it after a couple of years. Now I feel a little bad.

There is also the saying that sometimes the guy that doesn't want to be king or have power, is exactly the guy that should have it.
