Just encountered this on the Nexus today, and I thought it was worth sharing. It addresses one of the biggest complaints against the first game, but it seems it has a fairly simple solution (assuming your computer can handle the decreased load time). Apparently the modder made it so that rides are about the same length as squad conversations and news reports, and no longer. I'm going to try it myself once I start my next trilogy playthrough.

You know, the elevators never really bothered me.  I found all of the commercials, squad banter and music to be fun.  It also gave me a chance to think about what I was doing next.

The real reason for slow elevators is due to Asari really being into a particular Aerosmith song.  "Love in an Elevator" to be specific.

Same, I just chill and listen to the terrible elevator music.

The music isn't that bad, plus it is the only place in the game where we get some decent party banter.

I like that too. Liara scratching her chest always bothers me though.

This is an awesome mod!  Currently i've been using the /slomo cheat to bypass all the elevators(which lead to a few glitches with the dialog), this looks a lot better.

Thanks for posting!

I always found the music kind of catchy, and as others have said party banter happens there.

When I read the thread title I thought you were talking about the godawful elevators on the Normandy. As for the Citadel ones I'm with Tonymac, they never bothered me really. The little bit of crew banter and the ad's made them  passable.

My theory is that rather than using pulleys and gears, all the elevators in the ME universe use element zero to move.

Because the precise calibrations required are very finicky when it comes to making them work, the engineers simply cannot risk making them faster because they if they deviate from the galactic-standard, they might accidentally overcrank it and end up firing people through the top or bottom of the ship or Citadel at high or even near-relativistic speeds.

"I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite spot on the Citadel...."

It does make the Normandy elevator faster though. In fact the description states that it alters most elevators in the game.

Citadel and Noveria elevators are adjusted so that you still can hear all of the squad banter, ads and messages...

Making Normandy's elevator faster would be something I could appreciate.

I liked the Citadel's elevators, but speeding them up to just contain the conversations would be pretty nice I suppose.  Most of the runs I do I end up skipping the elevators for fast travel and having to get all my news and banter in the C-Sec -> docking bay one.
