So, I finished my Adept Hcore run relatively easily. (Thanks to RedCaesar, themikefest and everyone else for tips!)  I enjoyed every minute of it, especially the Citadel DLC, as well as the Extended Cut endings (went Destroy.)

Couple questions:

1) how long do you guys wait before another play through?  6 months?

2) Any other game series I can play that has this much character development and high stakes that I might enjoy?  Anything else capture you guys like the ME series did?

I'm honestly sad that it's over.   :( And I think it's too soon to start another run.  So looking for something engrossing and rewarding to do or play now.  thanks.  :)

Great to hear you enjoyed it in the end :)

As for your questions...

1) For me, when I first finished, I started to play the trilogy over and over. I'm always sad when Shepard's journey is over, so I start a new one to experience it all again :D Make different choices and play a different class. I can't see myself stopping anytime soon. I'm in the middle of my 4th playthrough and plan another 3 after that for the remaining classes I haven't played yet. And I have even more ideas for future characters.

2) I honestly can't find ANY comparison to the ME series in all my years of gaming. I was a big DA fan before, but even that is not as great for me as the ME trilogy. In terms of choices and the characters we meet and interact with, this is my favourite game series ever.

I could recommend the Uncharted series if you're on Playstation, but there are no choices to be made and it's quite different from ME. It's still a lot of fun to play though if that's your thing.

Maybe older Bioware games would also be something for you? I have not played any (yet), but heard good things, so it might be worth to check them out.

Why not play a bit of ME3 Multiplayer and rack up those galactic readiness points and assets that will "help" in next playthrough.

I usually wait a few months so I can play other games, that way it isn't too repetitive for me.  This time I'm doing 2 runs back to back and I'm a little bored tbh.  My last Shep was a pure renegade and I didn't enjoy it much so I needed a re-run, but I usually go for a couple of other games in between.

As far as any other games like ME, the only comparison I can give is Dragon Age.  There are more choices than ME, 3 games in the series so far, pretty good DLCs and a very immersive world.  So go get the Ultimate edition of Dragon Age Origins and give it a chance.

I also love Deus Ex Human Revolution.  There are hardly any choices except for choosing how you play.  So I've done one run as a shooter, and the other hardcore pure stealth, with ghost achievement and no kills.  Very fun and challenging, and you don't need to play the other 2 games first.  In fact don't even bother with Deus Ex 2, it's dreadful.

Then after a while, I start up Mass Effect but try being a very different Shepard to before.  A different sex, LI, and world view.   Doing things in a different order, like waiting to do the Krogan scout mission in ME3 until Tali and Ash/Kaidan are in the squad for example.  It's extremely rewarding.   :)

Glad you enjoyed your run with your Adept... still working through mine (doing the Citadel DLC right now - just before starting the assault on TIM's base).  Did you try all the matches in the Armax?  I'm having a time figuring out how to rack up 9,999 points with the Adept... i.e. how to get kill streaks since the powers just seem slower.  I can do it easily with a soldier, infiltrator, and engineer... but the biotics just seem slower to me.  Anyways.

How long do I wait... that varies depending on what else I have going on in my life.  I will break off to play other games ... but nothing keeps drawing me back the way ME does.  This Adept play through is my 16th of ME3 over the last 3 years... although not all of those were from start to finish since I'll save a run just prior to a major decision and then play that run again from that decision point (making a different choice)... basically trying to get a more in depth understanding of how all the dialogue connects.  I'll probably wait now for the entire series to make it to the backwards compatibility list for the Xbox One (since I play on the Xbox 360 using an offline profile... I think I will probably have to start on the Xbox One from scratch at ME1... so no point in getting partway through and then switiching consoles).

Other games - I recently really enjoyed Rise of the Tomb Raider, but there is no interactive dialogue in that game.  I think it was sort of an overlooked game since the vast majority of people went for Fallout 4 instead... but still a very enjoyable game overall.

I honestly haven't tried any of the Dragon Age series yet.

thanks for the input so far guys, I wanted to be clear that I actually had beaten ME3 before (but just once, 4 years ago.)  I let the ending stuff bother me and hadn't played since.  So I've probably played through ME1 like 5 times, ME2 like 4 times and now ME3 2 times.  I guess I'll wait a bit before playing the series again, and will probably switch my sex, LI and class etc.  I've heard good things about Deus Ex Human Revolution so I may try that out.  I did play Dragon Age in the past, it was good but didn't capture my interest like Mass Effect (I prefer SciFi over Fantasy usually.)  I never finished DA3 actually.  I enjoyed The Witcher 3 more than DA also (sacrilege!)

I really enjoyed the Bioshock games as well, because the world felt very "real."  Any other games you like to play in between ME runs? :)
