I like the game. I had numerous playthroughs on the ps3. I stopped playing in October. A week ago I bought a ps4 and the game of the year edition. Now I can play the descent dlc, which I'm currently playing, and the trespasser dlc. The difference is very noticeable. I have posted screenshots on the What you did today in DA thread. I expect I will have at least 3 more playthroughs when I'm done with this one.

The other thing is the game has replay value. The same reason why I have numerous playthroughs of ME

I do this too on all the DA games. I find it very helpful to have a little outline about your character before you have even made or played as them... I find it keeps me in line with the personality I want to roleplay for whatever type of character I happen to be playing :)

I never thought I'd end up roleplaying that much but it is helpful.  It can be easy to slip into being myself sometimes, so remembering the key points about a character is useful to help me play their story through their eyes, instead of me all the time.

When i play Inquisition i get pulled in by that game i really feel like i am the Inquisitor and for me that is a big compliment to Bioware. And there are a lot of games out there where i don't get pulled in at all it is just a game that i play then. So how do you play the game do you get pulled in as well or is it just a game.

Thoughts anyone ?

I don't put myself in the shoes of PCs I play, I always hold myself a distance but am still touched by how their personalities / stories are written. Bioware is best at this, most rpgs don't have such depth in their PCs.

Yeah I've almost finished my 6th Topal. I do have a 7th 8th and 9th planned as well This playthrough is taking a bit longer than my others due to I'm working through several games at once atm.

As for my charactres I have a real soft spot for my 2nd and 3rd  who were both Elves. Tbh I've got a soft spot for all my elves really even Topal as they've all ennded up being interesting characters

Yep, I definitely feel that I am part of the game. It is why I have always loved Bioware games. I usually tend to play multiple games throughout a week, but when I decide that its time for DA playthrough, everything else is forgotten.

I have also read the books, comics, and WoT 1 & 2. I think...I might be a bit crazy  when it comes to DA.

It's the game I most want to like but I just don't. It has some great parts but for me they are lost in the tedious mediocrity and some poor story telling points that just didn't work.

I wish there was the equivalent of the Star Wars Prequels anti-cheese edits that could improve DAI.

JoH and Trespasser were interesting but the main game just seems to have too many design choices that didn't work for me to become interested in the DAI Inquistitor.

It's still an amazing world they created with DAO/DA2 and in some ways continued in DAI. I just feel like DAI might have tainted my interest in the Dragon Age story.

I sort of hover around the character. Like the little wisp magic in DAO. If the character interest me, I stick around, otherwise I go do something else. I never feel like I am the inquisitor (which is good because I'm so annoying), more like they are book or movie characters which I can actually tell: No don't do that stupid thing, do the smart thing. And sometimes they listen, sometimes they don't.

And I usually have around 3 or more Inquisitors in the same session, so I might play a bit with Rikka, then check on Chayim and finally chill with Lavonne. So it's more like those books which have multiple short stories collected into one book and I flip between them depending on my interest.

DAI is fun and has a lot of high notes for me but in the end I can't get overly invested in any of my Inquisitors because the base game's pacing isn't the best. It feels like the second I'm fully engaged the game goes: "Well let's head into battle and finish this off!"
It tends to feel disorienting.

I do roleplay, I have played the entire game several times for different perspectives/outcomes. I mostly try to stay in character when I do. I have had one save for a long time that I am still at Haven with-- a jerk Inquisitor (dwarf). I have a hard time being mean constantly. I can only play him in small doses and have to be in the right mood. I did get attached to some inquisitors, but since I've played so many times I find myself still kind of staying "in character", but mostly just wanting to get in there and hit stuff.

I get immersed in all the DA games, TES games too. These are the only two series that pull me in.

I am the puppet master and the PC is my unknowing slave, oblivious to the strings that dangle above him. Jump! Swing! Dance for my amusement!

I really get sucked into it, like I'm actually there.  In my main play through I was a female human rogue.

In my current play through I am playing a female human mage called Karliah Trevelian.  Like her family Karliah also believes in the Maker.  As a mage she lived in the Ostwick Circle, a relatively quite place; however Karliah often found ways to amuse herself in between satisfying her thirst for knowledge both mundane and arcane.

Although the Ostwick Circle was a relatively peaceful and stable environment, it was not without it's politics and she quickly learned how to turn situations to her advantage.  Her charm and witty sense of humour help mask her more vulnerable side, living in a circle full of Templars she was always careful not to let them see any kind of weakness if she could help it.  It was not that she hated Templars or that any of them had mistreated her, she understood why they were needed and respected the order.  In fact there was one Templar that she was quite taken with, but could never bring herself to tell him.

Karliah believes that mages need some kind of institution whereby they can learn and practice their craft in safety, but with more freedom than they currently have.  She also believes that the Templars need to be reformed without resorting to the use of their "lyrium leash" to control them.  When her own brother chose to leave the Templar order, she was aware of his struggle to come off lyrium.  This together with her mother's worry that going cold turkey could kill him; prompted her to seek out a way of getting her brother the lyrium he needed, so that he could be gently weaned off it.  Her father being of a military background, hates politics and under hand methods, he didn't approve of Karliah using her connections with smugglers to obtain lyrium; however even he reluctantly allowed it given the circumstances.

Err...sorry for the wall of text, I guess I kinda got carried away.
