PC non-host desync issues...is it this bad for everyone?

So I've had ME3 since it came out but only just recently decided to try the MP.  It's been pretty fun, but I have been having mad crazy desync issues in the majority of matches.  Problems include:

-Can't climb ladders

-Can't get into cover

-Can't refill ammo

-Can't revive teammates

-Rubber-banding mobs and/or teammates

-Other general lagginess

I'm in the U.S., and my internet connection is very fast.  I have tried hosting games, but inevitably no one joins.  I realize that the playing population is small now...does everyone who hosts these days live in Europe or Asia?  Adding to the problem is that whenever I manage to find a stable host, they always leave after just a few matches, leaving me at the mercy of the internet gods once more.  Is there anything I can do, short of hosting and just waiting around for joiners?

I'm from UK, my internet is like a pile of dead camels emitting signal, and not even I get those kind of problems in most matches, although I occasionally go into a special lag world where single shot weapons can shoot multiple times without reloading, grenades don't work, I'm essentially immortal and I teleport everywhere.

That place is a lot of fun. Better than your lag world. :P

Anytime you're feeling enraged and down about your connectivity. Just remember, at least you aren't on PS3.

I should clarify that I don't get ALL of those issues in almost every match.  The worst matches have several, and sometimes I get a clean connect.  But I can virtually never climb ladders.

I roll over most ladders anyway. No idea why. :P Try if that helps.

Tsk, younglings.

You haven't got to know what lag means till you've played on RedJohn's host.

Sounds like wifi issues as 720 said. You might consider directly hooking your pc into your router. It helps. Also, if you have wireless mouse or kb you might consider getting something wired. Also, you can run mepinger utility and if the ping is over 100 msec, just look for another host. If there is no ping, also go elsewhere.

But other than that, yes, this is modern internetz. You have a nice speed but lot of lost packets which is common for major ISPs in the US. Actually, sometimes, they boost the speed while dumping reliability. Majority of people out there use cable to watch Netfix and they don't care about lost packets as it is just a  few corrupt pixels on an HD TV.

I have found a host in Alaska that humbles infamous RedJohn's host.

People can't climb ladders in my matches all the time. When they desync they typically need to be killed to resync.

Just happened to me again.  Couldn't climb ladders the whole match, but otherwise was fine until about round 7, when I suddenly couldn't refill ammo, mobs weren't losing any health, and my powers would seemingly pass right through them.  The fact that you can't communicate at all to your team w/o a mic just makes it 10x worse.  Aaaargh.  This particular match was the second with the host; first match was problem-free.

I don't record normally and I forgot the nick of the host. So, for now, you can take my word for it but I'll try to do it next time. Though, hopefully, it never happens.

You already had games with other players so I assume you installed already the free DLCs.

Regarding your connection issues:

First of all you didn't answer to these posts:

Commit suicide from the console, it will resync you. When I see players desynced like that I will kill then from he console as host and then res them and they will be back to normal. If you arent doing damage you likely can't be damaged either so that's the only real solution. The suicide command doesn't require a full console unlocker. You can bind it to a key or manually unlock the console to use.

I take my words back as I just played GiP on a host from Nagasaki, Meta1Head or something like that. It was even funny. Don't know the ping, probably estimate will be around 500-800 msec, but everything was teleporting and I meleed the same a-bomb on the same spot four times, then got grabbed, then tried to run away and got grabbed again and one more time and eventually killed it with graal on 4th or 5th shot. Interestingly, I did not die at all in the whole match as I was playing very carefully. Which means running away as much as I could.

I had landed in his lobby 3 or 4 times iirc and managed to hold on for a couple of games each time. It was ... unusual and peculiar, some sort of nirvana-type experience. There were a couple of waves when I could not even move but at least I died there and could be revived and some powers occasionally hit something sometimes. Not on the Alaskan host and not on that other Japanese host. So, overall, Red John's host was much preferred.

Speaking of which, your host was just glitchy with teleporting enemies but otherwise, not so extremely laggy as I was able to move normally myself. Everything else was jumping around but not me. Suggesting that ping was under 300 msec.

Also, after DAIMP lag, ME3 lag is nothing. There, lag is everywhere and every time. Lag is the king of DAIMP.

Makes one wonder about the lag in MEA:MP, seeing as they share the same engine.

I still have some minor hope that netcode might be rewritten as it is a somewhat separate part of the engine. People say that Battelfield usually has acceptable lag.

Yeah my host ain't good, but it's nowhere near Redjohn's. That thing was the stuff of legends.

Relevant, for those relatively new here who haven't had the privilege to play on the Host from the Moon:

Mother of Volus... I have run into lag like this typically from people in Australia or NZ. Nothing against them, just the net code halfway around the world sucks.

Also, **** Comcast!

That's because it has dedicated servers, with tons of ram, CPU, and expensive high-bandwidth low-latency connections. In DAI-MP and ME3MP they are hosted by porn surfing dial up users from antarctica.
