With the Warden and the Inquisitor, you pretty much have to create and develop your character's personality from scratch.
But DA2 has it limited to three, simple sets, and the only work left to do is to choose when is it appropriate to be nice, funny or blunt.
Personally, not really. But I don't limit myself to playing a single type. My Hawke was probably more purple than anything, but I didn't always pick the purple response (and now I cheat, and use the console to get the tone responses I want).
I find the neutrality of the Inquisitor forced and bland to the point of distraction. Even when there's a tone icon, there's often very little change in line delivery so it feels very one-note.
It's easier with a Warden, since I have a 'head voice', having a silent protagonist when everyone else is voiced kind of weirds me out.
