I've been seeing a lot of comments about this. Could the tempest be the ship we saw in the N7 day trailer. In my opinion I think the tempest could be linked to the the ship we saw. And the station is almost like the citadel. A place where maybe you can chill and speak to some chain of command. What do you guys think? P.S. what do you think about the Tempest? It's purpose? Capabilities?
SR-2 2.0, maybe?

People are speculating too much. We need to prove Mac Walters wrong by immediately ending all of our speculations. Let's see how Mr Lots-Of-Speculations-For-Everyone likes it when no one is speculating anymore.
You're just jealous because you didn't understand the ending >:{

I'd like the "Tempest" to be of a different design than the Normandy.

I'd like the Tempest to be more like the first Normandy.
Very unlikely , Normandy is more frigate and ship for a certain exploring or military tasks and that ship is designed for a missions that last from a several days to maximum few months.
Normady can stay in open space without any docking probably not more then a several weeks , definitely is not a ship that could take a big crew on journey that could last for years or even decades, ship for that must be much bigger and different designed.
Practically that must be a one entire city with his own artifical ecosystems , water, trees, green areas, animals , place where people can breed a food.......etc
So I am also relatively sure that ship from N7 day trailer is actually a Tempest and "our" home on the journey to Andromeda galaxy.

It wasn't that bad. You gotta live with it now.I understood enough - that it was bad, and that BioWare should feel bad.

I would actually like to see the design of one of the other Alliance cruisers and frigates with the original designs, maybe have some updated features but I would like to see what they look like inside the ship.

True but I'd like something not the Normandy. What I mean is we can't have another Normandy. It's times has passed. The Ark is almost certainly the ship shown in the trailer (it was huge), and the "Presidium-like" concept art. The Tempest will probably be a small ship, likely reminiscent of the Normandy. Since other Normandy class ships existed by the start of ME3, it could very well be extremely similar to the Normandy, which would be a throwback to the prior trilogy and make players feel more at home.

I'd personally prefer we design our own ship. But for plot reasons, that will never happen.True but I'd like something not the Normandy. What I mean is we can't have another Normandy. It's times has passed.
Also, the fact we are encountering a hostile alien species means we will probably need a stealth ship to avoid detection.

Yeah but it would be wrong if it was Normandy class frigate. Give us something new and badass just like the Normandy. Besides that big station can't be the Tempest anyway. It's too big. They aren't just gonna give us a big ol ship right?I'd personally prefer we design our own ship. But for plot reasons, that will never happen.

No, like I said - the big ship is obviously the Ark, we will have a smaller, probably frigate type ship to move around in.

What if there is more than one ARK that leaves MW?I was thinking about the races:in one ark are:humans,turians,salarians,krogans,asari,quarian...in another ark,the rest of races:volus, hanar, elcor, etc.
And what if the second ARK doesn't make it to the Andromeda, and kill all races...and the first one reaches successfully in Andromeda.
I think this is how BW will do if other important races don't make to Andromeda.
What do you think?

Much prefer something that says "Death is coming."
The SR1 looked like a kids toy really the SR2 looked cool, but not dangerous.
The chig says: I will kill you, there is no hope.
(Image not allowed)
While at the same time being realistically designed in that its surface area is greatly reduced no matter which direction you approach making it hard to hit.
(Image not allowed)
The hammerhead says: I can take a hit and then hit back you harder than you sent it.
(Imagine not allowed)

I also like Vertical designs. Something like this but more guns and sharper edges.

Also this.

Edit: Not happy with how this post turned out. Bad form BioWare.

I would imagine the Ark ship is large enough that it had many smaller vessels docked to it for the journey. It wouldn't make sense to have just one gigantic ship for this endeavor.

SR-2 2.0, maybe?
Wouldn't the SR-2 2.0 technically be the Alliance refit in ME3?

The ship is similar in design to the Citadel, and may be either of Citadel construction or have a similar purpose, albeit on a smaller scale. The Citadel is largely static, whereas if this was smaller in size it would function in a similar manner - having shops, hospitals and places like that - but be able to travel to planets to look for places to colonise. So it would be the best compromise between providing a living space for many people, and being able to explore. Personally, I think that will be the case. A hybrid between the Citadel and a starship. Almost like a portable hub world.
