Well keep your head up and remain optimistic. I noticed Shep was a little different in ME3 than ME 1 and 2. The protag in MEA should always be badass. Always take no $#it. If you're doubting because.of the endings, analyze them a couple hundred times and they actually make sense.I'm here because I like the world of mass effect. The setting, the characters, the races, the aesthetic of the universe, and how its like a greatest hits of old and new science fiction and science fantasy.
And I'm waiting for bioware to actually do something to impress me. Dragon Age Inquisiton was a game, while many might not have liked or been impressed with, I at least enjoyed. Mass Effect 3 though, wasn't. Most of the dlcs weren't either. I'm basically waiting to see if Mass Effect can pull itself into a good territory, but so far I've been disappointed by what I see as lazy writing and narrative decisions.
I'm waiting for bioware to show me why mass effect as a game series should have any investment, and not remain an old and dead series with a few good ideas.
Or in other words,

There is no way this survey is real.
Look at the original survey that leaked approximately 1 year ago. It was almost identical to the from Dragon Age: Inqusition which was proven to be real, was much better written, the questions asked were relevant to the information provided, it was much more extensive, etc.
http://www.eurogamer...s-effect-4-leak
This new one is clearly a fake survey based on the one from a year ago, it adds nothing new to the existing one, (not a single shred of information that wasnt already released last time). In size, the survey is less then 10% as long as the original one, and more importantly, its poorly written and the questions make little sense in context with the information they based them off. EG.
"You are exploring a new galaxy"
- I feel like the gameplay will be excellent. [AGREE / DISAGREE]
- I will feel like an explorer. [AGREE / DISAGREE]
- I will definitely love this game. [AGREE / DISAGREE]
I mean, how are you supposed to speculate this far based on such a broad and flimsy preface. There is no way anybody who actually has an education in market research would write a survey this way, as the answers to the questions will tell the business ALMOST NOTHING. The only way anybody would answer the question with such limited context is based off the equity from the existing ME franchise, and not off 3 single sentences of new information they were provided... thus, a useless survey.
This is contrary to the original survey from 12 months ago where there was a healthy amount of information and subsequent questions could be more precisely answered without the water being muddied/biased from previous games. Also, a written survey about story would generally confine its Q&A to whether the story is interesting to the user and potential purchase intentions. Without visual's or gameplay demo, the survey isnt going to devolve into asking the user to speculate about gameplay. Story Survey = Questions about storyline.
Also, aside from the fact it looks inauthentic in itself, contextually, why would they need this information now anyway when all the decision making is complete. Any required feedback will now come from the E3 Trailer in only 2 months and the critical reception from the audience, not a survey to a tiny sample of readers without any context, IE, contextually a survey is almost irrelevant now.
The fact that this has hit major press without more scrutiny is shameful.

I think they are going to screw up this one if they didn't do this right, they screwed up the ending, the game looks rushed and cheap, cliché superhero worship trope and other reasons. And its the plot that bothers me of humanity must survive by initiating manifest destiny by taking and killing the indigenous people who lived there to preserve the survival of the human race because we're "special". That is the most idiotic plot I've ever come across too and that is why I keep my expectations extremely low when it comes to BW.Come on man. This is Mass Effect we're talkin about. What's wrong with Western sci fi's any way? Firefly was cool. All I'm say I g is that it's Mass Effect. We all played the game, we all loved the game, and Andromeda will get us to fall in love with the series all over again. Also why are we doubting BW again. I'd like to hear a good, solid reason from anyone.

Take a look @ ME3 and look how bland the game is. No destructive environments, vehicles, and buildings, animations are stiff and crappy looking, the level design is lifeless and it looks boring. If they were taking their time like they should have in the first place and release the later year it will be the greatest Sci-Fi RPG of all time. But they rushing the game and the endings are poorly made it's like BioWare are not even trying to be their best of making their games. And they come up with a new ME to travel to another galaxy hoping that players can forget about how they screwed up ME3 where they shouldn't have but I hope they know what they're doing but I'm keeping my expectations low.The game looks rushed and cheap? Where'd you see it?

And THAT'S why I always ask for source links, people tend to leave stuff out. Did that guy just call the Krogan "benevolent"? Seems like a rehashing of the old survey. Nothing new here.
And ZippyZap if you want to continue the krogan playacting, change your username to Inamorda or something.

this pretty sums it up of what you said.I don't know, just by going what's in this text:
I'd say we fight those indigenous people pretty directly.
I mean, there are still plenty of ways to make us the ultimate good guys of course: For example, that one hostile race could supress another one with which we ally, etc.
In a way though, I hope they tackle the more controversial and interesting plot line. I doubt they have the guts for that though.

This is honestly why I've been reluctant at best to accept it at face value. It just looks like, if it IS authentic, that it's months old, that it's the kind of thing that went around during the preliminary stages of development, not here and now, roughly a year from release. I mean, yes, I've learned to even take the official words with a grain of salt ('rachni make a big difference!' '17 different endings!'), but this... This seems sketchy anyway.

I bet BW leaked this themselves to see how the public would respond to possibly being the "bad guys". Most fans will cry Paragon tears and we'll have a brand new story in which we join the oppressed indigenous folks to kill off the evil oppressive humanity before blowing our own brains out.

A little late to be changing a story, isn't it?

I can agree with that.
Avatar was almost visually amazing enough to obfuscate how dumb it was.

I liked Avatar - it shows our usual self-rightheous behaviour anchored in a limited knowledge. The true fully great people and their sparks for change are small in number and unpopular in the start with the masses. When that spark runs, though...I can agree with that.

Thoughs:
Humanity is special. Of course. The usual trope.
We're military again. Another boring trope.
We may be bringing Milk Way smallpox and wipe out civilizations.
Looking like Shep 2.0. Sounds like we could be another brick with guns. Shocker.
It's been a TPS with the lightest of light rpg elements since ME 2. I don't a expect that to change. So we may be stuck to corridors again.
All in all.. I hope that this leak is bullpoo but I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. If so, I might have to pass.
Looking at this list, it looks indeed like more annoyance than fun.
No idea why, but for all of ME3's flaws Shepard as the protagonist was a huge success. I guess they don't want to change a winning recipe.

Now that I could get behind. Where is it from?
it's just too bad that the distinction between respecting people's right to their own lifestyle and respecting that lifestyle as such is probably too subtle for the mass market. It's the same with religion btw..

Yeah, nothing like that progressive collective guilt. We are all responsible for the actions of those around us.
That SJW crap has been bleeding into Bioware games recently, but if they're seriously going with the human invaders = we are the real bad guys - look at how intellectual and deepz we are ermgrd - cliche, then this game is going to be even worse than I thought.

I saw this on reddit before it hit the news outlets. This leak also seems to suggest that we will face an indigenous species who is antagonistic because we are invading their territory.
I like that. It could present some interesting moral conundrums, rendered even more interesting if communication is at first impossible with them. Go full renegade and Christopher Columbus their asses? Or paragon and reach some sort of peace/trade agreement?
I hope the big meanie aliens have a really good reason to be antagonistic towards us newcomers and aren't just a generic war like ******* race. I'd like to see us do something more than just accidentally invade their space. Perhaps we settle down on a nursery planet that they terra formed for their young ones and we accidentally kill their babies as we don't recognize them as sentient life. Communication problems and cultural clashes, like you mentioned, just aggravate our horrible mistake. Something like this gives the aliens very good reason for going to war with us and paints the aliens in a more sympathetic light.

I may find humanity to be interesting in real life but that does not mean I will find humanity in fictional universe to be interesting simply because we are of the same race. Assuming that I will tend to fail to capture my interest in the fictional universe in question because it tends to mean it has nothing of the aspects I find interesting in humanity in real life.
I love the fictional universe of A Song of Ice and Fire. Why? Because it did not assume I'd care about it. Instead it gave me reasons to care by introducing me to an interesting setting featuring interesting cultures and interesting people.
I got that same feeling from "Game of Thrones" on HBO. You should check that out.

Here's another thing we might be all overlooking: How in Shepard's name are we going to communicate with the indigenous species of Andromeda?!
I mean, depending on where the game starts, we could have just recently entered the Andromeda galaxy. Could the hostility between the species between the Milky way species and the Andromeda species increase dramatically if the races can't even speak to each other?
Bioware got around this with Javik in ME3 by giving him that sensory ability which allowed him to get the language right away. Now, what will the Andromeda species have? Maybe Bioware will simply ignore this and set the game a decade or so after reaching Andromeda to enable translation, but if the races are hostile from the get go, this might not be possible. It could add an interesting dynamic to the setting and gameplay. This would really drive home the "stranger in a stranger land" effect Bioware was going for.
Imagine if we got trapped by the Andromeda species in a given spot, and we could only react based on their body language. Attacking could set off a wave of hostility on the planet as we explore, or maybe being diplomatic could backfire and cause them to attack us. Would be interesting to explore further.
They'll more than likely all speak English...or Basic... or whatever they called it in the MEverse.

I don't know... If the old races (turians, etc.) are united and on our side, it might not be so bad.
Why would they be? We let their planet burn for a planet that some Shepards weren't even from.

I hope not, this will totally lack of credibility ~
I hope to see communication problems that involve misunderstandings and cause troubles we will have to deal with.
Of course we will find a way to communicate with each others during the game, but certainly not from the start, that would be so weird.
