The Zulu were warlike conquerors who expanded at the expense of their African neighbors. Since when has conquest ever *not* involved atrocities? All conquest involves killing other people for land or resources. Quibble about the scale of the destruction wrought by the Zulu all you like, it wouldn't change the fact that they inflicted violence on other peoples in the service of ruthless self-interest. Sounds a bit like the Conquistadors, doesn't it?
And the Rwandan genocide is an aftermath of European colonialism and how racism destroys them to make them turn and kill each other.
While European colonialism and the somewhat haphazard creation of African nations during the decolonization period play a roll in much of the continent's continued troubles, it wasn't Europeans wielding the machetes that cut down between 500,000 to 1,000,000 Rwandans.
