This, right here, is why this term is such a divisive, stupendously useless waste of time. Opposition to racism is so much older than this label, but everything from dogmatic adherence to political correctness, racial equality, anti-white supremacy, feminism, and misandry are lumped under it's umbrella. 

 

When people who argue against racist pseudoscience are generalized together their anti-white opposition under the same term, it's past time to reconsider the usefulness of that term. 

 

Ah, but dear Lady, it's not like the usefulness or rather the popularity of a term is in direct correlation to its accuracy...

 

Quite the opposite actually, take for example the word "gamer" and the derogatory connotation some "gaming" journalists and websites are working hard to stick to it out of spite and due to their increasing lack of relevance, it's not like this dangerous basement dwelling anti social monster is actually all that common, it's just an easy target and a good straw-man slash caricature to use in their edgy blog posts.

 

But yes, that term had nothing to do with the post that mentioned it, on that I can agree.

True, but that does depend on how you're measuring usefulness. It's useless for rational thought or debate, but as a flavor of rhetoric for oarticular audiences it can serve a function. I don't think Qis actually is trying to say anything to people like us, but if you've already drunk the Kool-Aid it probably sounds OK.

What about the label of "racist"? These days, it seems to mean everything from merely disagreeing with someone who happens to be an ethnic minority, to challenging racial double standards, to nationalism, to openly advocating racial supremacy. Sure, it's an older term than "social justice warrior," but new phrases are always being coined.

I would say that Qis is using the term "SJW" in a way that is not consistent with the way in which it is normally used, but that doesn't necessarily mean the label needs to be discarded completely. It just shouldn't be used as a substitute for a logical argument.

I wish you'd stop using the word "they" at me about this. I don't know how I've failed to make it clear to you that I'm one of "them," and I cannot, will not, should not acknowledge some imaginary genetic flaw that supposedly renders me more aggressive and violent than someone with a different skin color from mine.
 
No one should, because it's ludicrous, and as for "see for myself," the hell do you even think this means? Do I actually seem unfamiliar with this topic? I'm not. I have "seen for myself," both as a matter of scientific/social research and practical experience that people cannot be briefly summarized by the color of their skin.

I'm not interested in debating the usefulness of other terms. My point is not erased or even properly countered by directing a spotlight on some other word and saying, "but look, this is also relative." 

 

As far as I'm concerned, relativity isn't the issue, the complete absence of a consensus definition is.
