What the hell are Krogan doing there?

And without the cure, I assume.

What a mess..

I want to hear the explanation believe me. It may give us a clue to the TL? Pre Genophage cure means it's not an issue if we DO leave after Thessia it presents problems.

That's your opinion, though based in this no matter what they do with Andromeda, you won't like it.

It's not an opinion. They're written to be a problem in almost every way. Like Bioware went down a checklist of the most undesirable traits for a species. Beserker dinosaurs with shotguns and nukes... who breed like rabbits.. and harder to kill than an infestation of Cane Toads.

Yes. Humanity will be front and center. As it should be. We're the best of the best. Take care of our own before worrying about the others. My main character will put a Cerberus flag on the first planet he/she steps on in honor of TIM, and beside that flag, another flag with the words HUMANITY #1. TIM would be so proud. Outstanding. Go humanity go!

I think you're confusing the reply. I meant it's your opinion that the MW species aren't interesting without their problems.

You do obviously hate/dislike the krogans though.

Humans as alien invaders sound like interesting theme if done right and not just as: Andromedan aliens are bad anyways so we are the good guys for invading their terroritory.

Oh.. well, I mean those species don't really mean much in and of themselves. Especially the Quarians. What are Quarians really, without their Geth/Rannoch plot. It's one and the same.

I agree with this, but I also don't want it to be a simplistic "Aliens were here first and therefore are the good guys" story. There needs to be some moral gray area.

Just you wait, when the new Andromeda alliance goes back to the MW to see what's been going on during their absence, they are going to find out that the Yahg imperium is controlling everything, and that the lesser races are either used as slaves or as snacks.

I'd prefer if it's a bit mixed. Though we don't know if we're actually invading their territory.

But many of this problems are actually resolved in ME3. For example, even in an hypothetical ME4 set on MW, the Geth/Rannoch plot will be resolved on way or another.

I mean, unless making a sidequel/prequel they'd have to reinvent many of the plots about the species we knew.

They're a dead end. Why invite someone like that? Without the cure, they contribute nothing except muscle. Longterm though, that's a problem. They're so stupid that they can't even do basic colonizing functions without screwing it up. Even Wrex admitted that.

1: the genophage is not terminal to the entire species it merely lowers the birth rate

2: Krogans were evolving around it before Mordin and co. modified the genophage - they may well evolve around it again

So the genophage is largely irrelevant in the long term; which means taking the Krogan without the genophage cured is probably asking for trouble - they'll evolve around it then take their vengeance on the rest of the MW species following Wreav's thinking. However, taking them along with Eve/Wrex providing a stabilising influence could make them a great asset - but it would still be a risk.

They're not a dead end - they're far more dangerous than that.

I'm yet to understand how someone being born in Andromeda makes him entitled to ownership of a mind-bogglingly huge space like an entire galaxy.

If the game tries to make me feels guilty for trying to save my species just because I settled an empty or mostly empty piece of rock on a galaxy

that supposedly "belongs" to someone else, I'm going to laugh...

But I'm saying there isn't much to them after that's resolved.

It's boring. What are they gonna be? What's their culture and general traits exactly? The "engineer" race, where all of them are nerds and techies? Or is there more to them? Their charm has always been tied to their nomadic existence, the flotilla, and AI issues. There's a richness to all of that, but as a race by themselves..without that drama.. there isn't much there.

Same with the Krogan when you strip away their struggles..and the specific conflict they had with the Council.

We don't know how exactly we and the new aliens will be interact. Maybe we're in their space.

What I mean is that the problem would alway arise even if they made a sequel in the MW. The only way to avoid was to not make a sequel, but we knew for a long time Bioware wasn't going to do a prequel or a sidequel to the trilogy.

Point in favor: humanity as the invaders has potential

Point in disfavor: I don't want to play as a soldier again.

"Their space" should be very close indeed to justify simply attacking without going through negotiations etc. first,

and I doubt anyone on the ark is sufficiently stupid to make that mistake anyway (settling that close).

I'm liking what I'm reading it reminds me a little of The Alliance and The Batarian Colonization Conflict I like the Idea that our Pathfinders are going to be forced make choices that aren't so easliy defined as Good or Bad.Also in regards to the Milky Way Races don't worry I'm sure they will be present I mean The Ark could end up being Council funded and thus its highly likly it will have Asari,Turian,Salarian crewmembers as well as The Alliance. And I hope we get some love for the Quarians & Krogan as well.

They didn't plan any of it at first. And should have stuck with that. Hudson said after ME3 there'd be nothing after the ME3 timeline.. this a cash grab and it shows. It's not inspired. There weren't ideas for these races outside their plots.

Yeah, I heard such explanations when EA leaked first "Save mah Earth" info when entire galaxy was supposed to be under attack. Should I remind how it played out?

Well we are in their galaxy which they likely have more rights than us- I guess it's possible that there is uncharted No Man's Land somewhere where we can set ourselves up rightfully- but it's also possible that aliens in Andromeda have already divided everything between each other. Like if aliens were to come to Earth and look for place to live here, surely there would be some land area where humans' don't really live, but they surely still belong to some country who would be angry for alien take over and demand compesations.

My guess is this: The indigenous native race is similar to how the Protheans ruled the Milky Way. They enslave all other races or destroy them and they see Humans as a potential threat to their "empire" or ruling. We'll defeat them then unite the rest of the Andromeda galaxy. I could deal with that I think.

Cool, but now I'm curious as to how the "humans are the aliens" is going to compare to "humans are newcomers" in ME1.

Yeah, we still had to save Earth for some reason and it sucked.

Even as a cash-grab or milking the "Mass Effect" IP all that matters is the execution and that can still be good even if it's not a bold premise.
