It is the natural state of the world unless you have proof otherwise. Solas literally has nothing to gain or any plausible motivations for lying about that. You're welcome to your head canon, of course, but you're going to need a stronger argument than that to be convincing, in my opinion.

It's the natural state of Thedas. The other continents apparently never had it, since it was only after coming to Thedas that humans gained magic. Why would they not have magic then but do now if the Fade was a world-wide thing?

I know. Again I stand with my view that they will just not have it happen and have us stop him before he does it. You never really explained how people would survive this with little to know ill effect like you are projecting.

Why do I have to explain it? The world obviously existed with no Veil and sentient creatures prospered. There's no reason to believe that some magical method to lower the Veil with less casualties can't be invented. In fact that would make for an interesting game, investigating and implementing such a method.

Where in the world did you get that it was just a continental thing?

Because you are talking about it like it is a sure thing. That tends to require evidence. If there was a way to do that, then a friended Solas would hold off and do that once discovered instead of what he is planning to do now.

It's a hypothesis from the fact that humans did not have magic until they arrived at Thedas and learned it. If the Fade was world-wide, they would have had it before arriving to Thedas. Thus either the Fade was only around Thedas or it was strongest at Thedas and weaker to the point of not having magic on the other continents.

Um, no offense, but I haven't once said that anything is more than my opinion about what may happen. A friended Solas hopes we can prove him wrong, which makes a great story for the next game.

For those who chose that option, maybe. For those that chose the other they are now being railroaded into indirectly helping Solas. Plus why would a new PC want to help Solas?

It's a fact that humans didn't have magic until they arrived in Thedas? As far as I can tell, history is muddy at best. In fact the only reason Solas can be seen as reliable in any way is because he was an eye-witness to history.

Prove it.
Prove that a fade merged with the world is it's natural state rather than call others who are showing skepticism  as being wrong or with headcanons.

You mean like people were railroaded into working with Cerberus? Again, Bioware has no problem railroading us.

Why would a new PC not want to help Solas?

you don't actually know what the end game solas option are. you are taking what one persons opinion of a friended solas world state will be and putting it on your sleeve and thinking it will be for everyone. That is on you. I personaly hope He is right that a friended solas world state could go that route. I hope for those of you who hate solas with the passions of the 7 rings of the underworld, get to have the option of knocking him into oblivion :)

I already have, I've posted Solas telling us about that several times. Until you get any in-game evidence that proves otherwise then that's what we have to go by for right now.

So right back at ya, prove it.

Those things are in World of Thedas, which is supposed to be the factual events and not be muddy.

I would hope Bioware would have learned their lesson from that, and not make the same mistake again. Plus why offer the choice then?

Because he wants to destroy them, everyone they know, and the world to restore his. Now answer my question as to why they would want to help.

A new PC isn't going to be all "oh, Solas wants to kill us all" especially if they're brought into the game as investigating Solas and finding out things about his plan that make it more interesting than it is now. Remember, we don't know everything about Solas and his plans. Bioware has deliberately left things vague.

Solas never claimed that a world merged with the fade is the natural state of things he only said to have raised the veil in a world previously molded by the elves, that their world was the "natural one"  rather than one created to suit their needs isn't something you can prove.

Still waiting for you to answer my question. You're dancing around it. And if we are an agent of the Inquisition or whatever investigating Solas, they will be thinking exactly how Solas is planning to kill them all since his plan would be why he is being investigated.

If there were things to make his plan sound less terrible, why would he not tell a friended Inquisitor? Telling them those kinds of things wouldn't ruin his plans and also potentially keep the Inquisitor from stopping him.

I don't own World of Thedas nor is any of it in the Wiki. Who says it's supposed to be canon? And what does it say, specifically?

Nope he doesn't say that, so prove he said that.

Keep waiting, that's as good as it gets. If you're not convinced, fine. I see the next game wide open to lots of possibilities. You don't. That's fine.

He didn't said to have created the veil?Yes he did.
Did he said that the world of the ancient elves he altered with the veil was the natural state of the world? No he did not.

Of course he said it was the natural state before creating the Veil. Now you said that the elves tailored the world to them... prove that he said that anywhere. He doesn't say that. He does say for the elves that "magic was as natural as breathing."

Seeing how the titan was uncomfortable with the breach i argued that the world of the elves could have been just a world suited for their needs no different from modern cities which are functional for our needs.

I don't own it. I'm just relaying what I was told by someone who does.

As for who said it was factual, that would be Bioware. The Codexes are muddy and biased, but WoT is factual.
