There are some comments I make where I pretty much 100% expect the response to be negative to it, I don't make those comments for other people's approval per se. A lot of the time I just know and can see things plain as day and have to record that fact somewhere...
So yeah, I sometimes anticipatorialy, skip those.... I essentially always back later and read them though after I expect the emotion to have dissipated.
If I'm quoting and responding to someone though I most certainly read it.
You know to be honest that "typical tea" was almost like in jest to be silly and lighten the mood but I thought it might be taken the wrong way... and here we are....
I mean really everyone has a style here.
German, Aren, Rare, and Lunatica all make these insightful cutting comments and upsets people's perfectly formed ideas and that makes them lash out.
Faceman posts gifs to everything.
Tea just winds up with this WHY I OUGHTA- before basically just making a plain point.
Sah tries to make peace by offering gentle and delicate idealistic banter, without really directly engaging or supporting anything in particular although seeming to evidence a modest distaste for anti-Solas.
Lynroy and Macha are exclusively devoted to just throwing tomatos.
Bayonet offers a sly reasoned analysis.
Medhia offers introverted emotional striking darts.
Abyss doesn't deny the evil in Solas but is kind of ok with it anyway.
Etc.
What about me? I want to be in there too. ![]()

I was thinking maybe like Hellion comes and makes perfectly normal reasonable comments that are plainly focused on the game or something like that and refuses to indulge in the great slogging back and forth.
Something like that.
Along with Xilihizra and Hanako.

LOL, all of this is evidence how often some people don't read what I am actually writing to them - which is perfectly demonstrable if you read comments I address
Or rather you pretend that they didn't read what you posted because they disagree with you which is also totally demonstrable! ![]()

Not sure if i really want to go back to that old meaningless diatribe but that's actually only an issue i had with two users which were often saying i wasn't reading what they were saying.I didn't had this issue on Bsn before honestly

LOL, one thing does not follow the other. It's one thing to disagree - that we disagree is hardly an issue. I disagree with people on many occasions about many things, but we actually have a normal discussion about it, no harm no foul - yet there are select few I consistently have to keep reminding to actually read my comments because what they're addressing is not what I am talking about, they strawman me or they are ether ignoring or avoiding things I've written, apparently more focused on trying to prove just how bad and wrong I am, rather than actually what I am presenting. It's there in the text. There's nothing I need to pretend about.

Well if it is about that i don't take comments too seriously here or at least they don't disrupt my serenity even when they are made with too much "anger"

Just because I'm not responding to you literally point for point doesn't mean I'm not responding to you substantively.

I think it's no coincidence the folks guilty of this the most are the sock puppets that consistently mangle the English language.

*sigh* Yet another proof you're not reading what is being written. Since when "what they're addressing is not what I am talking about, they strawman me or they are ether ignoring or avoiding things I've written" suddenly means "they're not responding to every point I am making"?
And no - the issue with you I usually have here is that most of the time you're NOT responding to me substantively. Boiling stuff up to a point that doesn't represent what I was talking about or is woefully oversimplified is not a 'substantive response' - as exemplified above.
In fact oftentimes I'm not sure what exactly you're responding to or where is it even coming from. And I know I'm not the only one who has that issue.

Nah it's not anything like that. I just get "zoned" into it the same way I get "zoned" into a novel. I may be absolutely cheerful/apathetic on the inside but it's a rare day indeed when it actually shows an emotion on my face. What do you mean? That Bsn is somehow distressful ?

That's really a lot of stuff that just isn't very true. You know sometimes I just have an idea, it's not necessarily in response to someone it's just a comment on the OP in a sense that patricia had started so..

No I don't think the world would be perfect or everyone would suddenly be equal or happy.
I also didn't say magic was necessary to understand your self worth. I was speaking more broadly about any kind of knowledge or enlightenment. You may take for granted now your ability to pick up a science book (for example) to better understand yourself or the world, but what if that kind of knowledge was illegal or forbidden? What if books on the subject were being collected and burned because they were feared, or because someone considered it a threat to their power?
Yes, I understand fear. I grew up gay before it was trendy. So - there's no need for you to educate me on that.
But what Solas provides has NOTHING to do with education. Bringing down the Veil won't suddenly educate everyone. "the world burning in the roiling chaos" is NOT enlightening.
Solas going the hard route and trying and failing to educate the Dalish... and trying again... and sure, maybe even failing again. Solas logging down his knowledge. Solas doing almost ANYTHING other than the idiocy of bringing down the Veil... would help advance Thedas more.
How does bringing down the Veil do anything but cause chaos? Solas even admits that this is the initial perk of bringing the Veil down.. and he plans on taking advantage of it.
At the very best... you're talking several hundred years after the dust settles and new nations form and the DARK AGE Solas is about to create is finally over... then people could creep back out their doors and poke around and try to understand.
Or... perhaps you think Solas is going to let the Veil down in a way that's just happy and safe for everyone... regardless of him confessing the contrary.

I think you're taking my words out of context. We were talking about the value of common people being empowered and able to educate themselves. I'm not sure how you went from that to me agreeing with burning the world in raw chaos, etc. I do actually want to stop Solas from doing that.
I'm sorry you grew up in fear. I understand. Which is why I'm stubborn about those who want to censor or control information.

You really seem very certain that everyone who appreciates Solas' character must approve of his choices and actions. Haven't you ever enjoyed any fictional antagonists? Darth Vader? Hans Gruber? Anyone?

There may or may not be a way to do that, but that's basically what friended Inquisitor says they are going to set out to prove in one line. To which Solas says he would welcome the chance to be wrong once more.
So I think that's a valid interpretation.
