You're confusing fear with disgust.

Why do you endorse it?

I feel that considering all perspectives is often necessary for finding an optimal solution.

We're probably going to be forced to re-evaluate what Solas is doing as we play DA4. Undoubtedly they'll tell us more about what's going on long before we get a chance to kill, capture, or help him. Like Trespasser, probably.

As midnight says, he "guarded" and "attended" her.

I already saw that codex but that doesn't mean that he is her lackeys, guard in a figurative sense more probably.

In regard of the veil there are no perspectives to take into accounts either you remove it or either you keep it,there are only two choices.

If she was accustomed to be related to the Dread wolf by having his statues in her temples when he was also an opponent for the gods then it means that the reason why they killed her was probably Solas.

Eh not necessarily. The veil is described as both a vibration and a metaphysical barrier. In theory, one could change the composition the veil to attain a desired result if they knew more about its creation.

But then again it is just a theory.

In his case. He likely isn't thought of as a lackey. Guards of someone such as a goddess figure or in mythal case Evanuris likely wouldn't even be thought of as a lackey. As I have said before their relationship seems unique and the codex also tells us he was her protector. Maybe he feels shame in failing her. Though him taking in her essence threw me off. Was it planned? Did he simply take it? Was it ALL of Mythal as she obviously put something of an essence into the Eluvian. This is what intrigues me. It's not so much endorsing genocide or mass murder. I have no idea what's going on and as such I am anticipating finding out. There are many plot twists to come and a ton of "You have to be kidding me" moments. But donthe mistake an "honor guard" for a lackey. A lackey is equivalent to, imho, foot soldiers who do a crime bosses/gang leaders dirty work. I can't see Fenharel being someone as such. But I could be wrong. His agents on the other hand. Could of course be called lackeys. But I digress.

This is why I think the story of Solas and Lavellan has special emotional appeal. It's not that "people like Solas so much" but they rather like this personally dramatic aspect of the story: you may be forced to fight a man you love because personal love and happiness isn't the most important thing in the world after all. I wonder how they'll adress that in the next game, with a new protagonist and all.

I think it's a really interesting and unique aspect as well, romance or no, and I hope it's explored properly in the next game. That said, if they finally made a romance that was for me and then made it tragic like this no matter what, I would be... very displeased indeed :P

I myself feel quite awkward if somebody watches a game romance scene with me no matter who it is.) But despite that, I am sure he had a lot of fun.

ps That's the problem with paraphrasing. I admit I sometimes save and try different variations of conversations just because I am not sure my hero will say what I think he/she will say.

Me too, I'd even get a bit awkward if my girlfriend and I see a Cullen scene together (or at least one in particular :P ), even though she's my girlfriend and we both adore Cullen. Not too awkward though ^_^

For paraphrasing and reloading, I've made a habit in all RPGs I play to make a save before any given conversation on a first run, because the paraphrase is often not what I expected/wanted, or just to see if I like something else better. Occasionally though, if I really like the voice acting, I'll reload just to hear things I won't pick because the delivery is so great. Mostly in Fallout.

My feelings on Solas goes like this. When I first played, I didn't know what to make of him at first. I thought he was boring, plain looking elf who happened to know a lot about the fade. As I progressed through the game, Solas grew on me thanks to his alternate take on Elven lore, magic and spirits and demons. What I also liked was his ability to keep an open mind when you argue with him. To me this was refreshing to have a companion actually consider your view on things (unlike Sera  ). So by the end of the game when he was revealed to be the Dread Wolf I wasn't too surprised considering we've had some foreshadowing in the game but I was intrigued because Solas' personality and views completely contradicted everything that was told about the Dread Wolf. He wanted to free slaves, he saw blood magic as a tool to be used and not feared. Solas wanted to change the world for the better after messing up the first time, and I actually wanted to help achieve it at first.

Then came Trespasser.

I was hoping Solas' time with the Inquisitor would have him see the world for what it was and try to work around it, but then when I encountered him at the Eluvian I went from wanting to help him, to wanting to kill him. I personally find what Solas is trying to do selfish, to destroy the world just so he can fix his mistake and bring "peace" for the people almost reeks of what Cortana wants to do in Halo 5 (ugh). All the time interacting with Solas, agreeing with his views, encouraging him to look what you've done wrong and try again gets shattered when he said I must destroy the veil but doing so will kill all of the people in the world. There was a look of determination in his eyes to the point where I couldn't convince Solas. He's become a threat and I must take him out (which was I why I chose not to break up the Inquisition.) But I felt that overall Solas is once again repeating the mistakes of the past. He created the veil so he can seal the Elvunuris away, but at the cost of the Elves losing their way of life and now he wants to destroy the veil at the cost of millions of people's lives. What has he learned from all this?!?!?! So overall I like Solas, but ever since Trepasser, he rubbed me off the wrong way.

I definitely hope it will not be tragic no matter what. I don't expect unicorns and rainbows, but I would welcome at least some choice in the matter besides "your romance is doomed, deal with it". (I am looking at you, Thane and Jacob!)

Solas is written as a villain, an antagonistic force within the story universe. His plan is supposed to be bad. If we don't allow any character to do unreasonable things, then the story has no conflict, and we have no story.

I knew you couldn't resist me. Just can't get enough of me can ya??

Well, sign me up.)) I definitely would prefer to know exactly what my hero is about to say. Would save me some time with reloading.

At least, they are improving, there were less reloadings for me in DAI in compare with DA 2. But it is still not always right.

I can't be disgusted if I didn't first "consider" the elfpocalypse.

So... did you consider it and then endorse it?

If they at least had the full line show up at the top of the screen where subtitles go if you hover over an option long enough (I believe Deus Ex did this) I would stop complaining. There is a mod for Fallout 4 that replaces the paraphrases (which are really terrible sometimes, like "Sarcastic" being used for any number of different-styled responses) with the full lines, but unfortunately I'm on the Xbox One and if I use mods achievements are disabled <_< You know, because mods like that, and more hairstyles are cheating or something

I agree that they're better in DA:I, but they'll never be perfect simply because of what they are.

I'm weighing options. As some codex somewhere said, any good soldier would kill ten men to save twenty.

Well since I'm a pariah and the most hated I changed my username into black sheep, because I have my independent thinking and I form my own opinions and hated for it simply because I refuse to convert people's way of thinking.
