Thanks for patience and I probably know what the answer is but -

I made a brand new character in the GOTY edition and tried to share it with a friend who doesn't like the character creation (not artistic at all) and wanted a certain look. Basically I made Astrid from Skyrim for them to play.

However.

When they download it and tried to load it in their edition of DAI that was purchased last year and try to start a new game with it, it says it won't work because he doesn't have some weapons pack DLC that apparently came with GOTY.

Is there any way to override this (he wont' pay $5 for the pack and I don't blame him) or should I just make the character again on his rig with his game version. Seems kinda stupid for the lack of some Qunari weapons package.

Thanks for any insights.

Unfortunately there's no way. Better just recreate that character with his version of the game.

Yeah thaqt's one of the main issues with one preson having DLC and the other not it does prevent you from being able to do things like this.

One thing you could do is take screenshots of your character's sliders (go to the Black Emporium) and send them to your friend. That's how I recreated my girlfriend's Inquisitor, and she ended up looking identical to the original.

Be warned though, it's an extremely tedious process, but better than nothing.

Yup. Figured that's what I'd do. I managed to recreate my first Inq. that way for myself (with a few enhancements :)

Thanks for the feedback. Saves me some aggravation and him $10.
