Sooo... despite a really tense kiss between my Femshep/Liara..... she sends me to find some computers to hack....

Is that it? Will there be a sex scene? any romance at all?

Geez.... this almost makes me wanna cheat with Jacob... but I didn't activate the romance at the start of the game...



can you do it mid-game?

That kiss is the only thing romance related at all. After that, her dialogue and reactions are the same as they are for Sheps that didn't romance her.

She still loves you, but.. you'll probably get back with her in ME3, if you cheat on her, her picture will be slammed down in your captains cabin. If you cheat on her, it creates conflict with Liara in ME3. She's on a mission that is actually helping you against the reapers.

It's a dark sci-fi epic, so having Liara get a little pissed because you decide to stop seeing her is alright by me. Hell, she was threatening to flay a live human when you first see her, that's not the Liara my Sheperd fell in love with. The way he sees it, the friends and family he had before dying all died with him. With the exception of Tali and Garrus ((funny, humans turn their back on you but not the aliens.... huh))



BUT! The sex scenes in the new game pale in comparison to the first. FOX kinda stirred bad juju for Bioware, so they trimmed down on the artistic feeling of teh sex scenes. Hell, with Miranda, I only saw her bra! So don't get your hopes up about the sex. If your just doing it from a RolePlay perspective, do what your character would do. If she still loves Liara, then be faithful. If not, then get in bed with Jacob or, better yet, the Asari Justicar. I believe you can actually get in a romance with her.

jhey jacob is a cool guy, one of my fav characters. but why not Garrus? all girls love him (or is it his scars? ... /sigh such undevotion you people have with looks)

I've read a few people say that they're able to discuss their relationship with Liara if they have high enough paragon or make the right dialogue choices. Anyone know if this is true? I had the paragon import from ME1 and my paragon bar is about halfway full now, but all I got was the kiss and then no discussion other than Liara's hunt for the shadow broker.

Liara was the only recurring character I was disappointed about. Ashley was in the game for about 5 minutes for me, so I didn't even have enough time for disappointment regarding her.

I too am interested to find out if there is any way you can get anything at all out of Liara, i know you cant like, do her on her desk (which would be fantastic) but just a bit to acknowledge she still loves you. Hell the scene before going on your final run when my shepard stared at her picture on the desk almost made me cry...

Liara's dialogue in ME2 is so jarringly, painfully bad I am not sure why anyone would want to keep romancing her.

What's that bit about hitting someone so hard their remains will "fit into a coffee cup"?

Seriously? How did that line get approved? That's like something you'd encounter in a grade school creative writing class. Listening to her speak, I got the feeling her VA was not impressed at all. She just phoned the lines in, got paid, and got out of there.

Liara was never good at negativity period. I thought the corny, almost laughable display of anger fit her character perfectly.

Who else was freaked out when they first heard her sounding all mystical Asari?

Well if you ask her why she has so much anger against the shadow broker she pretty much breaks down and tells you everything. Saying how she had to get Shepard's body back from the shadow broker before he turned it over to the collectors.

The reason she turned the body over to Cerberus according to her is she couldn't let Shepard go. So she's basically been fighting not only with the shadow broker but herself for turning Shepard over to Cerberus. She knows what kind of organization it really is and that they were gonna use Shepard for their own purposes which really got to her. She was reluctant to give this information because she thought Shepard would hate her for making such a decision.

I missed this small dialogue option my first time through but if you catch it, it still shows Liara cares for Shepard a lot. She's not going after the broker just for her friend but also for Shepard.

Liara seemed almost an afterthought, the romance with her in ME1 was almost touching and i fell in love with her child-like innocence. She is different now, its almost as if they made her cold and ruthless so you would say "thats not the Liara i fell in love with" and forget about her. There better be a hot steamy reunion in ME3...thats all i gotta say, if there isnt someone at Bioware is getting a beating

i missed this too, i wonder if its because i went full renegade. I'll have to save before walking into her office next time and make sure to try every dialogue option

Anyone get anything beyond this?  I've been reading forums all night- trying to find SOMETHING for the rabid Liara fan in me to cling to .  I've seen people report that with a high enough paragon rating you can open dialogue options regarding your relationship - which seems plausable enough- However , i went to ilium initially with 2 bars of paragon to 1/2 a bar renegade, and w/ no romance options with anyone else started, and was not given ANY dialogue regarding the status of their relationship. 

I've seen reports that if your rating is high enough Liara tells you that she still loves you and that when the goals you both set out to acomplish are over, you will be together again-

I went back about 3 hours of game play to try to grind my paragon rating up to a high enough lvl to see these dialogue options, and have gotten no where. 4 bars of Paragon rating w/  still about 1/2 a bar Renegade and these options still do not open.  Can anyone confirm that they've seen this dialogue? and shed some light on what the did to get it? Were you full paragon 60's in the ME1 save file? Did you ignore Kelly completley? 

any insight would be greatly appreciated.
