Bruce Willis doesn't have the voice I'd want to hear for the ME:A male protagonist (no offense intended) - not unless he did a really good job of 'throwing' his voice so that I wouldn't think of 'him' every time I listened. This would bug me to no end. As much as I liked Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troy, I didn't care for her voice as Matriarch Benezia as much as I thought I might - I always knew I was listening to Marina, not Benezia. Carrie Ann Moss as Aria T'Loak was very good, and because I never had the impression that I was listening to C.M.A. - just Aria. It's just a subjective thing for how I feel about it. But Bruce? Not for me - too recognizable for my tastes. Ash 'Liz' Sroka did such a nice job with Tali - I have been so impressed with her voice's consistency over the Trilogy. As for suggesting a particular male actor's voice in ME:A, I can't offer one at this point.

Exactly!
The biggest challenge is matching Bio's/writers' interval vision of the protagonist to a voice.
Now I like Morgan Freeman's' voice. But, the voice must also match the character. For example: I will agree that an action hero + Morgan's voice won't do. I also like James Earl Jones's voice. But, he too is not suited for an action hero.
Let's take Sera from DA:I. Robyn Addison interpretation of her from the script was awesome. I mean Sera came out in 3D. She was different from a human female. She totally came across as an Elf with an Elf's view of the world. Also, the script helped with the development of that character. But, in the end, the right voice actor (and talent) brings the character to life.
Frankly, I don't envy the Bio director responsible for choosing voice actors.
