As I can't post in the Multiplayer subforum, I'm asking my questions here.

 

1. Sometimes when I join multiplayer matches on higher difficulties (Perilous or Nightmare) I see players with lightning around their armor. Is it an upgrade or something? I already have the Drakescale armor sets but I don't see an option to add the lightning thingy.

 

2. I also see players building guard (grey bar above health bar) on characters that normally can't build guard, e.g. Assassin, Alchemist, Duelist. Apparently It's a specific weapon that let's you build guard on characters that normally can't. Which one is it?

1. Which characters do you see with Lightning around them?

Mages? That could be Heart of Pride, a lightning staff.

If it is the Avvar, it's probably Wrath of the Lady.

 

2. That's Savage Thorn a dagger with Guard on Hit.

 

 

Edit: 1. Could also be the Superb Belt of Stormpact

I rarely use the pact belts, so I don't remember if they make charakters sparkle....

I've seen it on an Arcane Warrior and on a Warrior class but I don't remember which one.

There are a couple of staffs that have elemental effects one is lighting one is frost, both good staffs.  (heart of despair and hear of pride) and belts as well (though there is risk to using the belts)

 

There are items that will grant you guard generation, at least one dagger, can't recall its name.

 

Opps, looks like Gili pretty well already answered both questions.

 

Just keep buying chests and you will get those items sooner or later

Yeah, the problem now is that I'm never getting good weapons out of chests. So the other way to get them is to play on Perilous and especially Nightmare, and get them out of loot chests or dragon kills. But then there's the problem that my current weapons are too weak for those difficulties.
