But then Bioware's favorite pet Asari would die!
I don't see a problem.
At least Ashley/Kaidan fired at Core whereas, Liara stood still like a dumba** letting Leng throw her across the screen. She's lucky she wasn't killed.. Because Kai Leng is an idiot, he sticks his sword in the ground instead of in Liara.
But then Bioware's favorite pet Asari would die!
you say it like it is a bad thing.
The first thing that comes to mind would have to be towards the end of the Omega DLC, going up an elevator with Nyreen telling Aria off for her attitude about the fighting that's been going on, and Aria goes "That wasn't war, babe. That was just warm-up." It's not a badly written line per se, but it's quite possibly the worst way any line has been read in the entire franchise. I'm very sensitive in general to lines that feel like they're being read straight off of a paper (Wrex sounds like this a lot in the first game, especially with less-important/throwaway/hidden dialogues), but that's by far the worst offender. Carrie-Anne Moss sounds like she just learned to read when she says that line, like it's the first time she's ever read anything out loud. Just...really takes me out of it.
Bioware actually planned on an option where Liara died by Kai Leng.
They had to rewrite a lot of things, but I don't why they didn't keep that in.
I think they changed some missions like Thessia and the coup because Javik went from being integral to the plot to DLC friendly unimportance. And the Virmire 2.0 thing was in the old script that was in a separate file to the proper 99% complete script that leaked. It was very underdeveloped and incomplete, and was always going to get rewrites and changes due to how early and very rough it was (I thought the scenario already looked bad on paper, so I'm glad they changed it).
It might've looked bad, but given the options, it was better. Everything from Thessia to Citadel Coup to Javik to the VS and Liara to Udina to Kasumi to Thane.. Even Kai Leng seemed COOL. Figure that. He was Maya Brooks...before Maya Brooks. And most people liked Maya. It's what they expected from Cerberus.
Everything that people gripe about - except the ending - was better. It's the root of their grievances.
That scene on Thessia was pathetic. Because Liara failed to react to Leng running to her, he should've killed her. He's an assassin or so that's what he's labeled as one. So Bioware had to have Leng throw her across the screen. It was lame, pathetic and whatever other word can fit.
Instead of doing that, just have Leng tell the gunship to fire at the supports after TIM and Shepard are finished talking. Its gets rid of the cry baby crying about recharging and gets rid of Liara standing like a dumba** she is when Leng charges her. The fight added nothing.
@DeathScepter & themikefest
Bioware would be sad.
I'm sure they'll get over it

In the other scenario, he was sneaky until the last minute. He was running around on the VS' team as an Alliance rep. They met you at Thessia and at that point, Leng had wormed his way into the VS' head, accusing you of still working with Cerberus. So it becomes a showdown with the VS over Javik (whose first appearance was here at Thessia). Liara somehow got in the way while you're trying to persuade the VS. Then Leng drops his game and does this something that holds everyone hostage. You can only save Liara or the VS.
It's better. No cheesy antics with the chopper, Leng is cooler, Liara isn't invincible, Javik is tied to the main plot and not DLC, the VS has much more drama in their story, etc.. Among other things. So many birds killed with one stone.

Carrie-Anne Moss was bad throughout the DLC. She was usually decent as Aria, but for whatever reason, in that DLC she sounded flat and bored through most of it.
I did notice a difference with Carrie Anne Moss, but I still liked the DLC. I love Omega.. and pretty much any rogue-ish/seedy stuff in their games. Same with DA... like the difference with city elves and elfy elves.
kai lang
Kai lan?

I do consider Kai Leng and many elements within Mass Effect 3 to be cringe worthy due to its writing. Bad writing is always cringe worthy

Honestly, I personally thought ME1 was mostly unoriginal and and ME2 was badly done. Shepard being clinically dead and resurrected with a default male skeleton is the most idiotic **** I have to endure in the entire franchise. If it wasn't for the romance in ME3, I would have given up replaying the series a long time ago.
No one else gets it but me.
Here's some stir-fried Kai Leng for you~~

but really, who came up with that name. It doesn't exactly sound like badass token Chinese villain name.
Makes me kind of hungry. But I need some chicken with my stir fry.
You guys talking about how Liara should've been killed by Kai in Thessia when he ran at her reminded me of something that doesn't sit well with me.
For Wrex in ME1, you go through all these gun fights with bullets going everywhere, and many straight at you which I assume are blocked by shields. Yet it takes Ashley one shot to kill Wrex outright. He's been a shielded tank up until that point but then suddenly, for story reasons, he's as squishy as a Hanar.
Then one shot for the VS as well (but then they're not wearing armour)...I dunno, I would just assume it'd take more to take down an armoured soldier who normally lasts through intense combat.

Cool scenario, but when in this Thessia takes place? If when it takes place now and we're still able to recruit Javik and VS after that, then it's far too late. I'm already salty about Tali being added to squad so late. If before Citadel coup, then hey. I like it.

It's something I talked about in another thread. This is a game where you just can't compare what happens in cutscenes with your regular gameplay. It's how this game is (to tell the truth not only this game).

Yeah, sometimes it's better to not question things and go with it. Hell, you could rip an entire game to shreds if you over think it, but it does make me wonder though. I wish you had to have an actual fight with him, killing a pissed off headbutting Krogan with your team and the Salarians would've been more epic.

I stopped questioning things like that after like... hour of playing? That depends how fast I got to Jenkins' death cutscene and how easily geth drone killed him...
On one hand fighting Wrex could be interesting, but on the other there would be no Ash killing him without your order. Besides, you assume Wrex couldn't win ![]()

Omg I know, Jenkins dies so quickly. I click on that guy every time just to hear him say 'gorgeous'. ![]()
Pfffttt...I'm space Jesus, no way Wrex could beat me. ![]()
You can pick any game to pieces if you want to, they all have strange contrivances that are essential to make them work. I don't think any game out there is immune to it.
I feel like Quarians are more like dwarves, and Asari like elves. I'm not sure what Salarians would be.
Gnomes.
